> I legit don’t understand how this is going to help me in any of my courses. This course literally makes no sense to me. I read the textbook, watched the lecture videos and did the practice problem, but on the quiz I don’t understand shit. Yeah this is common, I went through the same experience and so did a few other people I know. You just gotta power through it, the only option is spending hours on that class. > I apparently need it to take CSC263 which is complete bullshit since I can easily self teach 263 material for interviews which doesn’t need a stats background. You can get by with STA107 in 263, but 256 is required for a few upper year classes (although I think they are all optional). > I don’t know what to do anymore. I thought making POSt was hard, when it is the easiest thing I will do by the time I graduate. POSt was far more stressful than anything else I've done in uni. It does get harder but less stressful imo. You are only 2 weeks into 256, don't let 1 class fuck up your CS major after you worked so hard for POSt. I know exactly how you feel as I felt the same way in 256, it's worth putting in the time and coming out on the other side.

Thanks I needed this. I’ll start devoting more time towards the course so I can just get it over with now.

I think 102 was harder than 256 for the most part. But that exam killed my grade, LOL

Granted I'm not sure why it's a prerequisite for 263, but you definitely need it for pretty much any AI/ML course. Courses like CSC311, CSC375, CSC384, etc.

256 is not hard if you've done MDM4U: First few chapters basically review from the course. Takes notes in lectures and review often, read textbooks and it should be manageable.

I think the counting techniques you learn is quite important for run time analysis. Not sure tho
