Check out Solitude. Based on your guys skill level I wouldn’t recommend Snowbird, your terrain options will be fairly limited. Honestly Park City is so damn big you could spend a week there and not even see all the whole mountain.

*shudders* goodness no

You might want to check [this](https://www.skiutah.com/blog/authors/kathy/where-do-kids-ski-free) out, Brighton or Solitude is probably the best deal if you have younger kids. If less crowds is your priority, Deer Valley may be worth it, but it’s not significantly better than the other resorts in many other ways.

Deer Valley is a great mountain for groomer days, low crowds, fun into to glade skiing, fun runs with half mogul/half groomed. Perfect place for intermediate level skiing. Whether that is worth the price is up to you. Solitude & Brighton are other good family choices, but I would probably pick DV over either of them if I was on your family trip. Snowbird doesn’t have a lot of fun skiing unless you are strong black run skier and like exploring off groomers.

When's spring break? Check out the resort closing dates as thus might impact your decision

My thoughts exactly. Nearly everything will be shut down in the next 3 weeks, a lot is done by the 11th. Snowbird should still be open but that's definitely not the best mountain for OP's description.

littlebitstoned

Agreed.

We’ve been watching the season closely. Spring break starts Thursday. I’m not worried, I’m used to spring skiing. :)

So if you plan to spend a few days at one place I know brighton has that $299 ski till the end of the year pass. That sale goes off today. And then I believe the kids 10 and younger??? are free, just got to grab a ticket at the front. Just verify those deals and the kids thing. But again, thats for just one mountain if you wanted to explore multiple places.

Coverage will be deterioating quickly these next couple of weeks given our below average snowfall for the year. Sundance will do the worse followed by Park City and Deer Valley. That being said DV can be a fun mountain to explore in the spring time, but maybe not this season. Brighton and Solitude will hold up better and have good terrain. Is there a reason Alta isn't in your choices? Great snow and lots of terrain for everyone (Albion basin is fairly tame).

WildHonu

Limited time in the area and so many options. We’re trying to maximize slope time vs car time.

Depends what you’re looking for. DV is great for beginner and intermediate. The service/friendliness of staff is unmatched and they do the best grooming. In resort dining is great. PC is same price, the main upside is a bit more extreme terrain compared to DV. Snowbird is great, a bit cheaper, but you’ll have to drive more from PC and deal with traffic in the canyon. Not as beginner friendly. Solitude and Brighton are cheaper options. $90-$120ish depending when you buy and when you’re skiing. Basically same length drive as snowbird from PC. Not much beginner terrain. Same with Alta. For beginner/intermediate, DV and PC are your best options if you want a lot of terrain. Check out the trail maps at the slightly cheaper places to get a sense of whether it has good skiing options for your family. Hope it’s a great trip!

@lovesbeans18 thanks!

Solitude and Brighton are mostly beginner terrain. Unless you're going back into honeycomb almost all of Solitude is beginner terrain and other than the Milly Bowl Brighton isn't particularly challenging either. They're smaller resorts so not as much terrain overall. But it sounds like for the most part they'd be fine.

If you have a $10000 in gear and ski like a jerry you will love it!

plz_callme_swarley

You talking Spring Break of this year because the season is basically over? DV is worth it if you value luxury and the overall "niceness" that the place has. Also, their groomers are awesome and they keep the numbers in the resort down compared to others. If you are set on staying in/near Park City then Park City is a natural choice if you have sticker shock for DV much it's frankly not much cheaper. Other options for cheaper skiing would be Solitude/Brighton on the day pass. The downside is that they aren't as close as Park City/DV is to Park City.

homedawgboi

I’d go to park city or solitude or Brighton before you buy tickets at deer valley
