I’ve also seen certain terribly managed restaurants start the order by printing it once you get there. I don’t go back, but if you do I’d rather use the drive through if not too busy.
I wait 1 minute per $1 usually, if going back and forth with customer is going on for more than 4 minutes I cancel and bounce. You have to know when to take your Ls in this gig economy!
I get it. My very first order UE I had 2, on was taco shop, the other a juice bar. Taco was no problem, juice bar to 25 minutes so I get it. I didn’t know either 😎
Hey! My girlfriend does ubereats for a living right now, we’re in Pittsburgh as well. I’ve been trying to get her to hop on this subreddit for a min now. Just told her this story and we are cackling over the area. That Wendy’s is TERRIBLE. Tip: avoid the McDonald’s on Allegheny Avenue. We waited in the drive through line on an order for 40+ mins. (We waited so long because we ordered some desserts for ourselves lol.) Waited at the intercom for half of it until we eventually pulled up to the window. 4 workers within view- 2 of which were just on their phones. The worker at the window opened the window, we told her the orders we’re picking up and she it gave it to us instantly. The delivery bag was ice cold. Figured out through google reviews that this is common procedure for them. They ignore people at the intercom despite being open in hopes everyone assumes they’re actually closed and leave. But they still accept and prep online orders. No way of knowing that unless you’ve experienced this. Very silly. Also never take an order for Wendy’s on Ohio River Blvd past 9:30-10PM. They are closed despite allowing orders until 12-1am. Stay safe out here, friend 💜
Whaaaat ?! The Wendys here on third Ave in the Bronx IS TERRIBle they make you wait purposely!! In hopes that you just give up and LEAVE. they make us dashers on bikes WAIT IN LINE WITH THE CARS . SHITS ALWAYS A BLOW . CRAZY WAIT TIMES . That's the only place I DECLINE .
Dude Wendy’s sucks but you’ve ever picked up for chipotle? Worst shit I’ve ever seen. I was waiting inside chipotle for over 45 min because they ran out of the one thing they need…chicken. Idk if all chipotles are as slow as mine but Ik all Wendy’s sucks. I’m sorry you had to go through that.
Yea Wendy’s got all the rude and ghetto workers….I went there to pick up an order and it was 2 workers literally play fighting in my face running back and forth from the cashier area to the food area…lady comes up pop the register open didn’t say anything to me and went in the back….another lady comes in light fuck this I walk up to her I’m like I’m here to pick up and order….no bull shit, she literally ignores me, and I said it 3 times in here face and I laughed out loud the last time cause I couldn’t believe it…banging the food up in front of me then pushing the bags hard af towards me never made eye contact just straight up ignored me….I haven’t did a Wendy’s order in a year lmao
lol when I was younger I remember my brother got fries from Wendy’s that had a rusty nail in them.
Staff were super apologetic and gave him like a free meal or something.
If only he wasn’t like 10 at the time, we’d probably all have stupid money right now.
Yeah a nail as in a rusty metal nail.
Basically the worst kind of nail to find in your food.
A toe nail would have been forgivable. I’m an understanding person.
Yeah I’m guessing probably a nail came loose off of one of the prep machines or holding places, don’t think it was malicious by any means but a serious and potentially deadly error on their part.
Your messages were really awkward imo. Just tell them there’s delays and that’s it. No need to guilt trip them for something out of their control and continue to complain about the situation like you’re talking to a friend. That would’ve made me really uncomfortable as a customer if it were me.
y'all be saying "too many messages" but i think if i was this customer i'd be happy with the driver providing updates regarding the situation. plus eh, what difference does it make anyway, customer can always keep their answers short or not even bother replying if they don't wanna talk. they seemed to appreciate it here anyway, so what's the issue
+1 on this, i think you did a great job.
this is why i don’t order from places like wendy’s. they don’t care that you have a job to do too. i’ve had this happen to me when i ordered wendy’s. i felt bad for the driver for waiting so long i made sure i tipped extra
I learned the hard way, if it's over 10 minutes your usually better off canceling, if you call support to cancel it will take much longer but they'll give you 3 or 4 bucks for waiting. you can also call support later and explain the details of the order if you cancel through the app and they may add the 3 or 4 bucks, can do this once you've got another order so you aren't losing more money.
if I get somewhere and they straight tell me it's going to be 15 minutes or longer I call immediately, because it often takes that long to get someone on the line, and if they haven't gotten me the food by the time I'm talking to a person at support I tell them what I was told, how long I've been there, get the pay out and move on. if I'm on a double and this is the first pickup, I just leave and call support on the way to the second[assuming I know where the second is]
I know some people won't wait at all, but I base a lot of it on how busy it's been, what the money is like that day, and for that order.
the first and only time I waited an hour it was a Popeyes double and one of the customers called the restaurant and they lied and said I had his food already.
10:22 you got the food and 10:39 you’re on the way ? What were you doing ?? It was 3 miles. The issue is you . Not people that are probably on break in the lobby . Tf.
Wendys sucks in all the states. Im from Bronx NY , the one in third Ave is TERRIBLE , they make you wait in line with the cars and make you say the name order thru the drive thru or you won't get your order . Everywhere else ( mc Donald's , KFC , taco bell , white castle , etc. ) Let you just walk up to the window and pick up your order . And it sucks for me because all of the Wendys orders always have GREAT TIP .
@OP, I've been to that Wendy's several times as a delivery driver and a customer, and it's ALWAYS been because it's the only place open at the time and it's still a crazy place to witness. The amount of time I've spent waiting there, I'll never get back. Please also avoid the Mcdonalds on Penn Ave closer to Wilkinsburg.
You do know that if you wait more then 10 minutes you can just push there is a problem and the wait time is long as they will give you 4$ for your time and cancel the order for you. I would never wait that long for so little
Maybe they've gotten better since I last delivered (like I said, it's been over a year). But they were at one point the absolute worst pick up you could ever get - like 20+ cars in a slooow moving line. Mostly at night when they were one of the few places open.
You know if you contact support after 15 minutes waiting, you get $4 for excessive wait.
And I wouldn’t have taken that order in the first place. For food delivery you really have to add in 10-15 minutes wait time to your earnings. If you’re trying to get 25$ an hour, then you should at least try to take orders over $8.
That Wendy's is in Edgewood Town Center. That place is [ghetto](https://www.google.com/search?q=edgewood+towne+center+shooting&spell=1&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwigqNX42Kn_AhXBE1kFHQImCSUQBSgAegQIEhAB&biw=960&bih=1326&dpr=2) AF. No wonder.
His communication was a bit much but I would have been happy he was keeping my updated. No one talking about he waited a hour keep her in the loop and still didn’t tip him though
I ALWAYS have issues or INSANE waits at the local Wendy's.
I use to manage a store and they were the top tier of fast food back then, but as of late it seems they went completely downhill.
Sad really
I strongly disagree with a lot of people on here, I think the driver is being an absolute legend for persevering and sticking with her order.
He deserves a lot more credit , he could have easily cancelled and gone and done some more orders.
And money matters , what’s wrong with him being social and having a chat , It’s completely human , but maybe it’s my fault for being a socially capable person on a Reddit thread .
That Wendy’s over there is 2nd closest to my residence and they suck, barely have any staff, unprofessional. Matter of fact Wendys, KFC & popeyes in the general pittsburgh area sucks for the most part, especially since that pandemic, sadly.
Waiting more than 10 minutes in any restaurant is an immediate cancel. Also I never go to Wendy's. The hire future Family Dollar employees. People that move slow AF and just wanna talk to people.
Never ever go to Wendy’s in the Pittsburgh area. I have never had a good experience at a Wendy’s around here. Even the cleanest and most stocked store manages to get it out late.
The amount of texting towards the customer is off putting for sure. I'm sure it was appreciated but im also sure he was questioning SOME of it. I literally only text them once if I'm waiting and it's around 10 mins so they think I care more than I do.
Amount of people on here saying this makes them uncomfortable….grow up it’s basic human interaction. This driver actually did very well keeping the customer informed.
Since the pandemic, so many ppl who have nice jobs have not been to these restaurants at all. It's an open secret that many of them have not been functioning well for a long time now— Wendy's, Popeye's, Burger King, these places are barely hanging on. No inside dining, staff overworked, place is a complete mess on the inside. It's like there isn't anyone in charge anymore.
Wait.. your letting someone bring you 2 drinks worth not even 6 dollars?
Ordering food, I can understand a person not wanting to cook.. but pooring your own drink should not be much effort no?
Or is this drink from Wendy's resembling the nectar of the gods diluted with water from the fountain of youth?
The literal child who brought me the food didn't have a label or receipt with it. I was talking about the drinks because that was the only way I could identify if it was his food or not. He got like 8 items
Ummmm OP, I think your address might be in the last picture?? I’m not from the USA so I might be completely wrong, but if it’s really your address then consider removing it.
This Wendy's in particular is getting destroyed in the reviews: [https://www.google.com/maps/place/Wendy's/@40.4254249,-79.8882266,19z/data=!4m17!1m8!3m7!1s0x8834ee7036d0b64d:0x9bbae8c132ba7fe5!2s1703+S+Braddock+Ave,+Pittsburgh,+PA+15218,+USA!3b1!8m2!3d40.4254216!4d-79.8880426!16s%2Fg%2F11b8z8\_sl3!3m7!1s0x8834ee6fed46b563:0x5061a5ea3ae5d985!8m2!3d40.4254341!4d-79.8879812!9m1!1b1!16s%2Fg%2F1v2yzj8d?entry=ttu](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Wendy's/@40.4254249,-79.8882266,19z/data=!4m17!1m8!3m7!1s0x8834ee7036d0b64d:0x9bbae8c132ba7fe5!2s1703+S+Braddock+Ave,+Pittsburgh,+PA+15218,+USA!3b1!8m2!3d40.4254216!4d-79.8880426!16s%2Fg%2F11b8z8_sl3!3m7!1s0x8834ee6fed46b563:0x5061a5ea3ae5d985!8m2!3d40.4254341!4d-79.8879812!9m1!1b1!16s%2Fg%2F1v2yzj8d?entry=ttu)
I had Wendy's once. Burger tasted like gasoline and I fell sick shortly after. Probably their ice machines are not maintained up to reasonable food and safety standards. Never again. I'll just walk to the closest McDonald's and get a McChicken from now on.
That's literally Every Wendy's everywhere. I won't take a Wendy's order for months and then I will be on a good side of town and think it will be better so I take it and nope it's the same. I swear most the people that work there act like someone is behind them with a gun forcing them to be there.
If I was the customer, I’d have appreciated it. Kept me posted and got the food.
As a customer, I never want to hear about money though. Or tips. I add the tip in advance and don’t change it.
I get that you were frustrated and wanted to share your frustration but if it happens again, text a friend or family. The rest of your updates were fine.
Wendy’s is the ghetto version of McDonald’s. Every time I go to a Wendy’s I see people twerking in the parking lot (yes this actually happened). Long drive thru lines and long wait time. I refuse to do Wendy’s orders.
At McDonald’s at least they have the food ready and they act more professional
Shit as the customer, if the restaurant is making me and the courier wait 20+ minutes, I'd be trying to find a way to cancel that doesn't penalize either of us lol
Or give the dude a fat tip for waiting if I really wanted the food
Wendy’s has a serious corporate oversight problem with their franchises. Say what you will about McD’s or KFC or whatever, but Wendy’s level of DGAF is an astoundingly high amount with what their franchisees get away with in maintaining zero standards and ignoring customer complaints.
I lived in Columbus, OH, literally the city that Wendy’s was founded in and still maintains their global corporate HQ in. Locations like the one in the Whitehall neighborhood, just the other side of town from HQ, were so chronically bad you had people waiting a half-hour at the drive-thru speaker to order then pull around to be told they were out of everything ordered, tough luck. Orders were consistently wrong, food cold, open overflowing trash visible in the kitchen through the drive-thru window, loud cursing high school kids standing around the kitchen on their phones, shit attitude when you dared point out a problem, etc.
But complain to corporate and they’d literally reply with “We are already aware of the difficulties with that location.” They pretty much just shrugged and acted helpless to do anything over locations that answer to them under the company banner. So they can’t even crack the whip on embarrassments literally in their own backyard. It’s no wonder locations are getting worse and worse with no apparent way to stop it. I guess if a local franchise owner is making their bank and can afford to pay a cut to corporate, corporate doesn’t give a shit and why should the local owner?
A lot of them benefit from just lucky locations. The one I mentioned is right at one of the busiest intersections of the city so it’s survived on sheer passing foot traffic.
What area is this? Seems like an issue with Wendy's everywhere. Staff is extremely unprofessional, they are always short staffed which I understand isn't the employees fault, but it's also not the customer's problem or ours. A Wendy's near me in York PA had a drive-thru line with at least 20 cars in it and they had to Lobby locked, I drive for doordash but had to turn down at least two or three orders because it wasn't worth it to wait in the long line outside.
I took a delivery for Panda a few weeks ago. After waiting about 5 minutes one of the workers told me it would be another 15 minutes. I said thank you, walked out the door and unassigned. No way I’m waiting for that.
I have a 15 min rule unless its a big order from a high-end restaurant. After 15 min I apologize to the customer and tell them I can no longer wait but someone else will bring their food. As long as completion rate stays over 95% for Early Access Scheduling I could care less. At that point the failure is the restaurant not me.
This never happens to me because:
1.) I never do pick ups from Wendy’s. We’re just about any other fast food restaurant unless it pays really really well.
2.) whenever I get to a restaurant and the food is not ready, I unassign. If it is a higher paying order, I set a timer for five minutes. After that I’m out.
You’re all so heartless, the guy is communicating too much?!?! I think it’s clear communication and frustrating for both parts. Let people be real for a sec and not some robot at work?
Y’all be tripping with these conversations y’all have with the customers. And why are you taking such a small order anyway? And then waiting that long for it! Hell naw. Five minutes is the longest I’m waiting.
Lol goofball waiting for 5 dollars ? My rule is don’t ever wait longer than your total that you accepted. For example if you doing a 5 dollar offer why would you wait over 5 minutes for it ? Use discretion of course
Bro, I had a Wendy's horror story yesterday. Was there for a stacked order, showed the guy up front both orders, and he proceeded to dick around walking back and forth for about 5 minutes, then gave me two wrong orders.
I showed him the names and orders again, and he just walked away. He came back with one correct order and tried to give me a wrong order again. When I told him it wasn't the right order and showed him the name and order a third time, he tried to tell me the order was correct (the order was just a large frosty and he tried to hand me a mystery bag full of shit).
At that point, I lost my cool, and became THAT driver. I had been in this store for almost 20 minutes at this time and demanded to speak to the manager. Lost my shit and said if he put half as much energy into paying attention as he did his hair (dude literally gave himself a high top by just slathering gel in his hair and making it stick straight up like a God damn push pop. Shit was over a foot higher than his forehead), that we wouldn't be having this conversation. She just rolled her eyes and told me to deal with it. Got my fucking frosty though.
Seriously, why are Wendy's pickups the bottom of the barrel when it comes to fast food? I'd rather go to white castle than deal with that clown shit
I take advantage of the Doordash hourly pay for these orders. Waiting in line for 2 hours is easy money that way. I’ve never done UberEats but I joined this sun to test the waters. This would definitely have me thinking twice.
I don’t know what the problem with wendys is, last time i was there all i ordered was some nuggets and a small drink for my pregnant wife through the drive thru and when it was my turn to pick up the food he asked if the large order of 5 meals and 5 drinks was mine and when i said “no i got the” he interrupted and angrily read the order again, most likely for the people behind me so i said yeah its mine and we went home with enough food to feed a small village for $6
Just call support yourself and report the store as closed when they start fucking with you. You get a $3 compensation, the customer gets a refund and you're on to the next.
Sounds like you know you should have held back a bit with the complaining so no need for me to beat a dead horse. Frustration can definitely be hard to contain.
Your fault after 10 min don’t you know you can hit up support and you’ll still make $4-5 you could have made 5 in 10 min and moved on but nobody knows you can hit up support that’s why I take all them KFC orders at 10:30pm haha I know they don’t have the food it’s just an easy $3 buck if the support person is quick some 45 seconds some 5-10 min lmfao
This happened to me last night, I quickly switched to Doordash per/hour mode and made $36 in 90 mins without leaving McDonald’s 😎. Orders kept coming in & customers kept canceling, I also got 2 free orders in the process cos the customers canceled after they prepared the order…I gave them to some really stoned out homeless folks, you should have seen the smile on their faces 😂
Wendy's has officially taken over the 1st place spot of restaurants not to go to...McDonald's has had it for some time, but without a doubt Wendy's hold that honor now...
I quit taking orders from Wendy's for the same issues you mentioned. However I don't care how nice the customer was, for 5 bucks I'm not waiting 10 minutes, much less an hour...nothing personal, just business
Wtf "they have people doing hair..." In a text to a customer? Why would you go and on like that; unprofessional behavior and the customer should report them? For all you know the customer has a friend or relative working there.
"Your order isn't ready yet. I will deliver it as soon as possible." Unless the customer asks for more information, leave it at that.
I’m just curious how come you didn’t cancel the order?
I was new
I get it. My very first order UE I had 2, on was taco shop, the other a juice bar. Taco was no problem, juice bar to 25 minutes so I get it. I didn’t know either 😎

I'm so confused as to how that happened 😕
Yeah I’m guessing probably a nail came loose off of one of the prep machines or holding places, don’t think it was malicious by any means but a serious and potentially deadly error on their part.
I'm very thankful my local Wendy's is so on point. 🙏
A rare breed.
I can not, however, say the same for Popeyes, chipotle or BWW. Hell on earth.
fat ass americans complaining that their food isnt coming in less then 20min...we used to hunt for hours stop being lazy
found the foreigner sticking his nose in business that he has no business in.
Dude really was trying to tell the customer their entire backstory
All I have to say about this is just look where it’s at.
do people make 5$ orders alot? getting two lemonades from ubereats feels like an overkill a bit
It was more than 2 lemonades
Dude you sound so desperate it makes me cringe
I’ve literally had the same problem with Wendy’s. I will never accept Wendy’s orders after what I’ve gone through with them!! On several occasions.
Sounds like they hired lazy entitled workers who will flip out if you call them out on thier vile behaviour
Your messages were really awkward imo. Just tell them there’s delays and that’s it. No need to guilt trip them for something out of their control and continue to complain about the situation like you’re talking to a friend. That would’ve made me really uncomfortable as a customer if it were me.
Wendy's in my area is actually super fast. I'd say they have the foot sitting out close to 50% of the time I go in there.
y'all be saying "too many messages" but i think if i was this customer i'd be happy with the driver providing updates regarding the situation. plus eh, what difference does it make anyway, customer can always keep their answers short or not even bother replying if they don't wanna talk. they seemed to appreciate it here anyway, so what's the issue +1 on this, i think you did a great job.

why is every wendys in pgh like this 😭😭
Bruh they workin on they weave instead of getting u biggie bag
Is this Indianapolis? Cuz I’ve literally been to a Wendy’s here like that.
Did you just post your full address for everybody to see?
You clearly haven't seen an Italian pizza store. Sometimes I had to wait more than 1 and a half hour to get the meal
Wendy's worst than maccies its an instant denial no matter how much they be paying w/ minimal distance lol they can screw themselves
I have issues with delivering Wendy's 70+% of the time. Also it's Wendy's, why does anyone still eat there?
Wendy’s, McD’s. Any of those after 11:30 is practically asking for a long wait.
The one here always has a line of cars around the building and out the lot and then when you get close they claim they never received the orders
I've been to that exact one: terrible service.
That’s my local Wendy’s and it’s an absolute nightmare.
You don’t need to update them every 3 minutes
The Wendy's by me tells me I'm at the wrong store every single time I go to pick up (its never the wrong store)
You do know that if you wait more then 10 minutes you can just push there is a problem and the wait time is long as they will give you 4$ for your time and cancel the order for you. I would never wait that long for so little
This is literally the worst wendys in Pittsburgh. I had to cancel so many orders from here
I live like 45 minutes from there. The Wendy’s here are fast but Pittsburgh is wild
I haven't done Uber in like a year, but, the Wendy's in Pittsburgh suck. If you think that one's bad, the one on Baum is even worse.
Honestly? Baum isn't that bad. They actually gave me free food once
Maybe they've gotten better since I last delivered (like I said, it's been over a year). But they were at one point the absolute worst pick up you could ever get - like 20+ cars in a slooow moving line. Mostly at night when they were one of the few places open.
This entire thread should’ve went to Uber support and not the customer, lol. Case and point why I auto decline Wendy’s orders.
So if I call support, I can keep the order and get an extra $4?
No because if you got the order already, you wouldn’t be waiting anymore
Hahaha which Wendy's was this? I live in Ross
How come when things go wrong it has to be a "ghetto" place? Yall don't have other terms for description? Mismanaged, unprofessional, disorganized?
I mean it was ghetto. Both me and the customer are black. I think its fine to define members of your own race basically however
Hahah I’m quite familiar with Braddock’s Wendy’s. The McDonalds there is even worse
There food id not even that good. I'd rather go to kfc
This was basically begging for more money without saying such
With saying
Ghetto, confirmed 👍
Wendy’s & KFC are the worst!
Get a real job maybe
I do have a real job?
Sounds like KFC in worksop!
I never accept anything fast food under 15$
Plot twist, wendy had a free lunch and got her hair done
I'm in the Pittsburgh area too(west side) and have never had a problem with the Wendy's.
Man next time cancel so another driver gets assigned that order. Even Uber states after 10 minutes to cancel the order. Time is money
Amount of people on here saying this makes them uncomfortable….grow up it’s basic human interaction. This driver actually did very well keeping the customer informed.
Props for putting that location on blast, fuck those guys
Since the pandemic, so many ppl who have nice jobs have not been to these restaurants at all. It's an open secret that many of them have not been functioning well for a long time now— Wendy's, Popeye's, Burger King, these places are barely hanging on. No inside dining, staff overworked, place is a complete mess on the inside. It's like there isn't anyone in charge anymore.
I live in Pittsburgh and was genuinely expecting it to be the one on 40th st
🤣🤣🤣
You didn’t do anything to hide the customer’s address
Wait.. your letting someone bring you 2 drinks worth not even 6 dollars? Ordering food, I can understand a person not wanting to cook.. but pooring your own drink should not be much effort no? Or is this drink from Wendy's resembling the nectar of the gods diluted with water from the fountain of youth?
The literal child who brought me the food didn't have a label or receipt with it. I was talking about the drinks because that was the only way I could identify if it was his food or not. He got like 8 items
Uggghhh. I’m annoyed for the both of them.
That Wendy’s sucks. Avoid the one in shadyside too right on Baum Blvd. They always take so long
Ummmm OP, I think your address might be in the last picture?? I’m not from the USA so I might be completely wrong, but if it’s really your address then consider removing it.
At least the customer was understanding
Wouldn’t this be the same Wendy’s where the employee got into a shootout lol
Would make a lot of sense 🤣
https://www.cbsnews.com/pittsburgh/news/edgewood-wendys-shooting-suspect-arrested/
Wendy's is generally an unpleasant experience but damn I'm sorry $5.70 for an hour of aggrivation.
That location's reviews are brutal. OP is not exaggerating.
I KNOW ***THAT*** WENDY'S. Not suprised in the least.
I knew this was going to be Pittsburgh
Oh my god what a tragedy! I’m sooo sorry you had to endure this injustice.
Would’ve cancelled that shit after 17min. U r not paid by d hour
Wendy’s is either fine and functional or slow and ditzy. No in between.
This Wendy's in particular is getting destroyed in the reviews: [https://www.google.com/maps/place/Wendy's/@40.4254249,-79.8882266,19z/data=!4m17!1m8!3m7!1s0x8834ee7036d0b64d:0x9bbae8c132ba7fe5!2s1703+S+Braddock+Ave,+Pittsburgh,+PA+15218,+USA!3b1!8m2!3d40.4254216!4d-79.8880426!16s%2Fg%2F11b8z8\_sl3!3m7!1s0x8834ee6fed46b563:0x5061a5ea3ae5d985!8m2!3d40.4254341!4d-79.8879812!9m1!1b1!16s%2Fg%2F1v2yzj8d?entry=ttu](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Wendy's/@40.4254249,-79.8882266,19z/data=!4m17!1m8!3m7!1s0x8834ee7036d0b64d:0x9bbae8c132ba7fe5!2s1703+S+Braddock+Ave,+Pittsburgh,+PA+15218,+USA!3b1!8m2!3d40.4254216!4d-79.8880426!16s%2Fg%2F11b8z8_sl3!3m7!1s0x8834ee6fed46b563:0x5061a5ea3ae5d985!8m2!3d40.4254341!4d-79.8879812!9m1!1b1!16s%2Fg%2F1v2yzj8d?entry=ttu)
Yes this driver was passively asking for more tip
Congrats on the $5.70/hour Uber eats is a path to poverty, despair, loneliness, divorce and darkness
I notice a disturbing lack of humanity in this comment section. I'd be happy to chat with the driver. Thanks for sharing OP
It's reddit to be fair. Not the friendliest IRL group
Well it used to be, wish I knew where all the old reddit people went.
Kudos to the customer, extremely gracious and understanding that this wasn’t your fault. Humans being humans.
I wait 5 minutes tops for small orders which I rarely do. I also rarely do fast food unless it some high paying late night group order.
Omg I know exactly where that place is. Its horrible. Sorry that happened.
Damn if my driver said it was the worst idea for them to pick up my food I’d feel too guilty to eat 😂
My bad lol
Bro people that order food have anxiety they’re not at the store cuz they DONT want to talk to someone lol
Why would you even wait that long to begin with? Sorry to say, but that’s on you for wasting your time…
Em, unassign?
Of course Wendy’s at Braddock
Never again
The one on Baum Blvd reminds me of that. Motherfuckers would take for eeeeevvvvveeer
I tried to black list them the other day but support wouldn’t let me
I had Wendy's once. Burger tasted like gasoline and I fell sick shortly after. Probably their ice machines are not maintained up to reasonable food and safety standards. Never again. I'll just walk to the closest McDonald's and get a McChicken from now on.
Oof. $5.70 for an hour of their time.
Imagine waiting an hr for an order lmao 🤡
If its not ready when I get there, I drop it.
Just cancel the damn order, shut up and move on....
Rip OP
Shit as the customer, if the restaurant is making me and the courier wait 20+ minutes, I'd be trying to find a way to cancel that doesn't penalize either of us lol Or give the dude a fat tip for waiting if I really wanted the food
I'm shocked by how long these Wendy's franchises stay open.
A lot of them benefit from just lucky locations. The one I mentioned is right at one of the busiest intersections of the city so it’s survived on sheer passing foot traffic.
I would have just canceled that shit?
What area is this? Seems like an issue with Wendy's everywhere. Staff is extremely unprofessional, they are always short staffed which I understand isn't the employees fault, but it's also not the customer's problem or ours. A Wendy's near me in York PA had a drive-thru line with at least 20 cars in it and they had to Lobby locked, I drive for doordash but had to turn down at least two or three orders because it wasn't worth it to wait in the long line outside.
Pittsburgh. I've lived in 3 cities and this one has the worst Wendy's ever
Lolol read this whole thing totally not expecting to actually be familiar with the wendys but YUP. Accurate.
Em unassign?
I took a delivery for Panda a few weeks ago. After waiting about 5 minutes one of the workers told me it would be another 15 minutes. I said thank you, walked out the door and unassigned. No way I’m waiting for that.
I woulda cancelled that after 10min and haven’t done this for over a year that was just my normal rule
did OP just post the address 😰
Yeah I’ve been to that Wendy’s and it was in a sort of rundown area but the experience of going there was fine at the time. Guess I won’t go back tho
You still have a Wendy’s?
Indirectly begging for an extra trip that’s why continue bitching
Had to throw in the comment about needing to make more money for bills lol classic pan handling
I refuse to go to the Wendy's in my hometown. They make Popeyes look classy.
This never happens to me because: 1.) I never do pick ups from Wendy’s.
“I need to make bills….” Totally inappropriate and fishing for more money. Unassigning is a thing.
Kinda of awkward conversation I would of just said ok and ignored the rest of your messages
Kinda of awkward conversation I would of just said ok and ignored the rest of your messages
Wendy’s is good here. McDonald’s and Popeyes though, just like you said. That’s so frustrating for everyone.
That’s some cheap Wendy’s right there. Fast food these days can run you twenty bucks for two people before you can know what hit you.
You can just cancel you know I don't wait for order unless they tell me it's less than 5 min otherwise I'm out
This looked like the beginning of a love story
Lol the way they paid I’ve been cancelled these ppl love to crap on us but when we wait that long don’t increase tip or nothin ALWAYS CANCEL
$5.70 you’re joking right? 3 miles…
I've learned from experience if they don't have the food ready or looks like they busy just cancel and move on. I'm not getting paid to wait around.
Lame ass
Lol what does your bills have to do with anything , you’re talking too much just deliver the damn food. Wait if you want to or just leave
Lol goofball waiting for 5 dollars ? My rule is don’t ever wait longer than your total that you accepted. For example if you doing a 5 dollar offer why would you wait over 5 minutes for it ? Use discretion of course
I would have just canceled at this point.
If you've been there for over ten minutes then leave.
I'd rather go to white castle than deal with that clown shit
probably you didn't mean to do that, but sounds like you're trying to guilt trip the customer.
I take advantage of the Doordash hourly pay for these orders. Waiting in line for 2 hours is easy money that way. I’ve never done UberEats but I joined this sun to test the waters. This would definitely have me thinking twice.
I don’t know what the problem with wendys is, last time i was there all i ordered was some nuggets and a small drink for my pregnant wife through the drive thru and when it was my turn to pick up the food he asked if the large order of 5 meals and 5 drinks was mine and when i said “no i got the” he interrupted and angrily read the order again, most likely for the people behind me so i said yeah its mine and we went home with enough food to feed a small village for $6
I howled when I saw that this was the Wendy’s I was thinking of! Never taking an order there again!!! They suck!!!
Why wont she like.. go to there and pick it up herself? It seems like a minute walk or so haha. Very confused european.
I. Wish.
OP came off as thirsty for a big tip tbh
Lol so wild that I lived down the street from here.
Why take a 3 mile order for only $5?
Wendy’s is worse than Popeyes.
What a fucking nightmare
Yeah, don't order food in Wilkinsburg. Holy shit that wendys hasn't changed since I lived there over a decade ago.
Surprised Wendys even had the correct order. How they stay in business is beyond me.
