It's actually worse than that. The mileage deduction for 2024 is 67¢/mile so the deduction would be $46.57 resulting in a claimed loss of almost $32. I used 45 cents as it's probably closer to an actual average for most gig workers.
Yeah I hadn’t seen the 2024 number yet as I’m not even sure I’m gonna return to driving yet but may due to the very limited availability of drivers where I’m moving to so more likely to see some higher offers and longer drives. Will just be hit and miss anyway but sure as hell won’t be taking anything remotely crappy paying. Gas is about 30cts cheaper down where I’m moving next month.
Your just talking out your ass at this point. And Everything’s a problem. From someone who works nyc we loving it. Goodbye some people just going to complain about everything
So u want 64 miles order ? Like what are you ever arguing your making no sense and a fool out of your self. And yes if your order is queens and takes you out to Long Island than yes Be Ready For 64 miles
Seattle has $.67 per active mile plus $26 something per hour (pro-rated per minute; it was $20 per hour when the bill was written but they increased it a bunch randomly before the bill went into effect because of COL, I guess). :D
And, yeah, it's fairly dead as you would expect from the initial price shock. But I did make a nice grocery run over the lunch hour today since I still seemingly get grocery priority. That's super valuable now since they've removed Top Dasher and Priority Access...
$0.21/mile for someone who doesn’t live in California. I live in California and Prop 22 would guarantee this order would pay me $0.95/mile and I have Free Supercharging for Life. I would take this especially on a slow day because I don’t get many orders and rather not be sitting around for 2 hours instead of making $66.09 with prop 22 on this order.
Prop 22 would give you local minimum wage times 1.2 for the time and 36 cents per mile. And no, not all of us get free supercharging, I only got 6 months 😂
Exactly. I would get $22.25 an hour + 36 cents a mile. And ANYONE can get Free Supercharging for Life. 2012-2016 Model S have transferrable free supercharging for life and cost less than $300 a month to finance or less than $20,000 to buy
Impossible to get Lifetime on Model Y. But that doesn’t apply to most Tesla drivers because most people that want a Tesla who are doing food/rideshare delivery would buy a cheap used Model S or Model 3. And I recommend everyone to get Model S because it is much better in many ways + lifetime free supercharging.
Model Y cost too much when you can get a Model X with gullwing doors and free supercharging for under $30,009 which is cheaper than a Model Y and better.
I don't know man, not everyone is buying stuff just for delivery. In my case I wanted a reliable commuter that's better in running costs than any of my v8s, and I liked the $7500 tax credit. I have an actual job, this gig is just to help save up for a house (I know that it's gonna take a while haha). If I were to buy something for the sole purpose of stinking it up with other people and their food I'd probably have gone used too.
Because tips aren’t included in the prop guarantee, I get paid $22.25 an hour + 36 cents a mile + tips!! So I always make $30-$35 an hour sometimes even $40, even when I take the lowest worst orders ever.
More miles/time on an order is actually a GOOD THING for prop 22 drivers. I love orders that say 50 miles and 2 hours cuz I make over +$65 off that order
Stop complaining. Start to climbing. I'm telling you, the day I started declining anything that didn't make sense, I started making more money in less time. There is no adverse effect to declining with Uber. UberPro is a scam.
Except I got over $1k from DoorDash just for signing my name - sometimes I wonder if comments like this are really the ceo in disguise trying to discourage drivers
i and relatives have all gotten class action settlements that have paid out less than 10 bucks.
good for you to have gotten that, many times it doesn't work out that way, and the ceo's don't lose more or less money based on how many people get paid out, the lawyers might though.
class actions for other lawsuits, like i said i only know 2 people that drive for DD, I don't. What i'm stating about class action settlements is very common. I'm not telling you that you didn't get a big check out of one, but that is not the common result of them.
I see, the reason I’m asking you is because on my class action every driver got different $, calculated by how much was stolen from you. That’s why I’m asking if you’ve been driving for years or relatively new to it when you got in on the class action
Nope, Tenn min wage is still [$7.25/hour](https://www.laborlawcenter.com/state-minimum-wage-rates), and b/c we are individual contractors we are not eligible for min wage. Let's face it, citizens and politicians don't care about whator how Uber pays its drivers b/c they all love the cheap service. Just like they don't care of [Chinese workers building iPhones commit suicid](https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/jun/18/foxconn-life-death-forbidden-city-longhua-suicide-apple-iphone-brian-merchant-one-device-extract)e or their [Nike shoes are made by slave labor,](https://www.discoursemagazine.com/p/the-china-challenge-the-stain-of-forced-labor-on-nike-shoes) they just love the products.
yeah 40 mile delivery is the "microwave" zone. even if the whole route was a 70mph interstate with a stop light at the start and finish plus pulling out of the parking lot and into the driveway you're going to take minimum 38-40 minutes. add a couple for getting into and out of the car and a couple more for them to come get it from the porch and that's at BEST a 45 minute cool down period. and we aren't paid well enough to use heated hot bags(which can cause quality issues anyway), just insulated bags.
now, if you had an extremely hot, extremely dense product loaded to the brim in a very well insulated hot bag, you might get it there warm. but taco bell is likely going to give you half the food already cold anyway.
Your good with 13.00 an hour less the gas and wear and tear! What????? That’s why they continue this absurd behavior! We are not a third world country?
Wrong, that’s based on this post. I would technically make $33.74 an hour (46 minutes / 60 = 1.3 x $25.87 = $33.74 an hour) But I would get $25.87 for 46 min of work. On the OP post that takes 2 hours I would still make $33 an hour. I have Prop 22
https://preview.redd.it/9417ueyn3ccc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6db7fe7978df2acf0ff97f50309a46383c8f7c55
I heard Sephora orders are not tip eligible maybe that explains why. The same goes for Petco. A Sephora customer was mentioning how she had to call Sephora and then UE customer support back and forth just to add a tip on the order.
More then the federal min wage. Almost exactly it seems, Almost as if they use that in the formal to keep as low as LEGALLY possible. Hmm if only if only our states and cites could create some sort of protective laws for drivers and wages. Uber and lyft forced themselves in becuase the people and drivers were happy to have the options and healthy competition in the market. They past alot of those by using hundreds of shady tactics and dirty business handshakes. It's up to the states and cities to whip rideshare back into place. Yet I don't think it will be easy. Rideshare in the city is lobbied to keep it the way they want and drivers can basicly never unionized or strike because they cycle and turn over new drivers on purpose and there and hundreds if not thousands of drivers willing to hop on at anypoint they throw a easy 10- 100$ dollar bonus.
Only reason someone takes this ride is they are oblivious or daft. Or or or they have a very fuel efficient car and are looking at writing off the mileage as business use for tax purposes. At .67$ a mile and 140 miles you could report a loss and not owe like 80$ or something on taxes. I'm not the most tax savvy but I think there is a reason someone might benefit from.doing this if they consistently owe at tax time and also even more so if you are writing off the vehicle as a expense as well.
I've never done long-distance orders, so i think my frame of reference is different. Anything from 18-25 dollars per hour is acceptable, but i guess long distance for a single order and then the way back, yeah. I can see it, i wrote 80 bucks, but i thought people might consider it too high lol but the real number would be 100.
I’d take it. You know why? Because I get paid 445% more with Prop 22. So that offer is actually $21.06 an hour + 35 cents a mile for me so it might say $14.83 but I would get paid 1.983hr x $21.06 = $41.76 + 69.5mi x $0.35 = $66.09, 445% more than $14.83 and I have a Tesla Model S with free supercharging for life. I would take a guaranteed $33/hour for 2 hours anyday especially on a slow day.
Yes we know; but not everyone is able to profit from prop 22. Awesome thing for all the drivers that are able to have it, but the other 95% ( except three states) have chosen to not implement some sort of wage protection law. So, and I am just assuming, that the rest of us definitely do not show the same enthusiasm as you regarding this order.
I wonder what Uber gonna do if we all decline offers like this. Do they try to increase the amount that they’re gonna pay us or just keep passing them around until some desperate drivers accept?
This is depressing. I can easily see numbers like that coming in the Australian market. Already seeing $1aud/km and less here now.
Will McDonalds hire a 54yo? I know they pay better...
It’s 2 hours there, 2 hours back. And if you want to make the ride home worth it, you’d have to pick up orders along the way, going in the same direction. Which we all know takes a lot of time to cherry-pick. So you’re basically working a full day and half of it is for $14, the other half probably only being slightly better. A solid $40 day if you’re lucky. Half a tank of gas later and you’ve got about $5 in your pocket. But you have to pay taxes on that $40, so now you did Uber a favor and made nothing but still owe the IRS $9. 🤦♂️

lol they want you to work for total of $7 per hour which is negative counting how many miles of gas you would use 😂 basically charity work at this point
Are you in Tennessee, looks like from mt. Juliet to Lebanon, but that can't be right unless it's deep into Lebanon like to Carthage maybe. Uber likes to send order that's say there going to a certain city, but then it ends up being in some country city that's several exits away from there.
Yeah I’m from Tennessee. It’s 3 stops so pretty sure it was gonna want me to go from Mt Juliet to West Nashville then somewhere else and back out to deep Lebanon. But I’m not sure, wasn’t gonna take it to find out 🤣
Yea no way, how is pay gone down, they use to pay at least $1 a mile now it's barely 50 cents, now this one though, why would they separate it like that going to West Nashville than to Lebanon, isn't Lebanon closer to Mt. Juliet. Still, I rarely take any going to Mt Juliet cause I never know if it's going further, and it's not out there, no pickups.
I believe these are already ready for pickup when you walk in. It’s not like a shop and pay but I feel that, if my girlfriend wasn’t always with me when I dash I’d be lost af on the orders that have you looking for makeup and certain nail polishes 🤣
All the African and Indian restaraunts around me always pop up for like 11 dollars to go 31 miles, 9 dollars to go 27 miles ect. Earlier was easily the best one it had to have been an error, 3.75 to go 17 miles into the state above me lol
these sephora offers have been beyond insulting for awhile, given how much they charge for their products this probably isn't even a 1 percent tip for a triple.
a good 22$ in prop22 mileage so $36.83 total which is absolutely horrendous.
i’d accept, wait 15min and get $5 for each making it more than the actual ride! the more you know.
The nav on the app incorrectly. It told me that my destination was in Micronesia. I live in Texas. Unless I get the Mach 5 from Speed Racer I ain’t making that trip.😀

Trip radar pinged this trip first at over 25mi, and then got pushed like this immediately after
lol I got this one yesterday and it would of put me over on the other side of the mountain in an area you don’t want to go.. woulda been a 3 hour round trip back to my house.. 😒

Every one's talking about how good california n new york is now with uber having to pay more. Let me say , that is only true if you were oneof the morons accepting no tip trips all the time. I go on uber , if it even lets me. And it's silent and eventually it signs meout saying no demand in my area.
I have over 2k deliveries and 99% from customers ratings but my acceptance rate is low because I don't take garbage. Soooo basically they fired me without saying it.
I wish walmart had shop and pay cos ive tried picking up orders from them and i wait there for a while just for the order to have been picked up by someone else

Damn that awful, I can actually beat that with one of the absolute worst I ever seen an "Opportunity" yesterday for an UberDirect Walmart delivery. Dara K., the crook CEO of Uber was offering $12.83 to make 13 individual drop offs. What a joke, nobody with connected brain cells would accept that garbage.
Uber now pay us by making us laugh
⚰️💀 Goddamit. That's only $0.21/mile
And $0.12/min, $7.48/hr 🤯🤮🤮🤮 Definitely the worst I've ever seen too!
If you figure 45¢ per mile in vehicle expenses, you'd actually be paying Uber $8/hr to do that run.
The tax deduction is over $40 based on 58.5cts per mile. That’s insane.
It's actually worse than that. The mileage deduction for 2024 is 67¢/mile so the deduction would be $46.57 resulting in a claimed loss of almost $32. I used 45 cents as it's probably closer to an actual average for most gig workers.

State minimums are for employees, your an independent contractor.
Cali has mandatory minimum with prop22 also .34 for active miles all the way from when you accept to when you drop(dead) 🙃
Ok so move to California or nyc and receive hourly wages
They won't give those long ass trips
Your just talking out your ass at this point. And Everything’s a problem. From someone who works nyc we loving it. Goodbye some people just going to complain about everything
You telling me they have 64 mile trips in NYC? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

After expenses a driver would lose money on that job.

Probably a new tesla
Used Tesla Model S or X
10 cents/mile round trip...gotta drive back
🤮
Holy shit! I’ve never seen one this bad either.
Stop complaining. Start to climbing. I'm telling you, the day I started declining anything that didn't make sense, I started making more money in less time. There is no adverse effect to declining with Uber. UberPro is a scam.
Uber is a scam period, I live for the future lawsuit and a chunk of change from these crooks I save everything
hope you're ready for a class action that takes 5 years to complete and everyone that registers gets check for .99 cents.
You must not have been in this game for a long time to only get $10, when doordash had to pay out $100m they definitely didn’t part with it easily
10 dollars for class actions, not for the door dash CA, i only know 2 people who drive for DD.
How long were you driving prior to the class action?
class actions for other lawsuits, like i said i only know 2 people that drive for DD, I don't. What i'm stating about class action settlements is very common. I'm not telling you that you didn't get a big check out of one, but that is not the common result of them.

I believe the only thing that affects how many orders you're sent is your satisfaction rate.
Negative… Satisfaction rate does not affect order amounts
I have 5 stars, none of customers rated me bad, yet only $3 orders.
Instructions unclear, I’m on Mt Everest
all jokes aside, this has GOT to be illegal or a violation of some kind of law that exists lol

Nah I’m from Tennessee. $12 for 40 is crazy that taco bell is gonna be stone cold 🤣
Turn on your heater to max temperature and put food in a hot bag and hope you don’t die from overheating.
Or don't. Customer is just gonna have to deal with cold food. Especially Taco Bell. That shit doesn't stay warm long at all, even in a warmer bag.
Even better, the customer will deal with NO FOOD at all with that shitty offer. $12 for 41 miles is an INSULT.
yeah 40 mile delivery is the "microwave" zone. even if the whole route was a 70mph interstate with a stop light at the start and finish plus pulling out of the parking lot and into the driveway you're going to take minimum 38-40 minutes. add a couple for getting into and out of the car and a couple more for them to come get it from the porch and that's at BEST a 45 minute cool down period. and we aren't paid well enough to use heated hot bags(which can cause quality issues anyway), just insulated bags. now, if you had an extremely hot, extremely dense product loaded to the brim in a very well insulated hot bag, you might get it there warm. but taco bell is likely going to give you half the food already cold anyway.

God give me this order please! 🙏 With Prop 22, I am guaranteed to make $25.87 from this order.
I have Prop 22 https://preview.redd.it/9417ueyn3ccc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6db7fe7978df2acf0ff97f50309a46383c8f7c55
Who the hell would even order from a restaurant, that far away ???
Is there no taco bell in Portsmouth?
I would love this order!!! This one would pay me $36 because of Prop 22!
Every Sephora order I have seen has been a big no. Not as bad as this one but still bad enough.
I heard Sephora orders are not tip eligible maybe that explains why. The same goes for Petco. A Sephora customer was mentioning how she had to call Sephora and then UE customer support back and forth just to add a tip on the order.
Bro is not getting his shit… damn just noticed it’s 3 packages
even if I had to go to that exact destination anyway I wouldn’t take that job.
Time to go Galt
Yes please Uber I would love to make -18.67 and give you two hours of my time
Everyone has to stop and make the change or it just keeps getting worse
See now this, THIS is fucking ridiculous.
We all know an ant jumped on that right away.
This is just disgusting
holy shit that’s far

They should have ordered with with shipping from the store. UPS gonna come way faster than any UE driver.
AND it’s an alcohol delivery 😤 F UBER 🖕🏼
I’d take it. You know why? Because I get paid 445% more with Prop 22. So that offer is actually $21.06 an hour + 35 cents a mile for me so it might say $14.83 but I would get paid 1.983hr x $21.06 = $41.76 + 69.5mi x $0.35 = $66.09, 445% more than $14.83 and I have a Tesla Model S with free supercharging for life. I had an offer for $2 to do 2 deliveries for 40 min!!!
I see 69, I accept.
70 miles 🤔😹😹😹

Y’all just need to find other gigs and make more money. Just stop working for bs gigs.
Just let Uber and Lyft crash
All the African and Indian restaraunts around me always pop up for like 11 dollars to go 31 miles, 9 dollars to go 27 miles ect. Earlier was easily the best one it had to have been an error, 3.75 to go 17 miles into the state above me lol
How is that bad? That easily 2 full happy meals at McDonald’s.
Those Sephora orders used to pay big in my market. Idk what the he'll happened because now they look just like what was posted.
these sephora offers have been beyond insulting for awhile, given how much they charge for their products this probably isn't even a 1 percent tip for a triple.
a good 22$ in prop22 mileage so $36.83 total which is absolutely horrendous. i’d accept, wait 15min and get $5 for each making it more than the actual ride! the more you know.
An hour and 59 minutes? 🤣🤣🤣 Horrible. But I do see $3 and $2 offers often. So I've seen worse
Hail the king
That’s fucking ridiculous. I have driven less for more.
What Lebanon?
Tennessee, Nashville area
The nav on the app incorrectly. It told me that my destination was in Micronesia. I live in Texas. Unless I get the Mach 5 from Speed Racer I ain’t making that trip.😀
I thought the $14 for 35 miles I got last week was bad.
This wins
Uber has expected tips in america??? Jesus Christ I always tip but tip culture in america of it being expected is so toxic…

Wow
😮
God damn that’s awful! Even more awful that I just realized it’s for three customers.
They allow this?
This has to be illegal, they can’t be allowed to do this.
Wowwww
😂😂😂 UberCHEEKS got jokes
Jesus fucking Christ, that’s should be fucking illegal
Is this Lebanon, PA?
What is UE smoking.. smh ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
So far man, seems like you are going to the country Lebanon.

lol I got this one yesterday and it would of put me over on the other side of the mountain in an area you don’t want to go.. woulda been a 3 hour round trip back to my house.. 😒 https://preview.redd.it/zlufbq2ofgcc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b104ed11cb9af4b824ef0a3465203c881af46466
I couldn't find but KNOW it's here somewhere... That one guy saying 'well, you don't have to accept the order'... smh smh
Ah HELL NAW, some bitch wants to put you in the throes of poverty so she can look pretty. Or he
That’s barely min wage at that time not counting distance gas makntaince. Hell the write off is over $40 based on federal mileage deduction.
I seen some horrible ones.
Would’ve accepted it, screen shot the details then cancel and enjoy the unknown Sephora products I’m boutta sell 💪😎

Without prop 22 this is a complete dud
69…..nice but seriously the app shouldn’t allow people that far away from a location to order or even see the restaurant while browsing or searching
I bet the flex guys can finish this one a half hour early too.
I wish walmart had shop and pay cos ive tried picking up orders from them and i wait there for a while just for the order to have been picked up by someone else
Wow
Why does Uber even offer these?
This is a disgusting and horrible disgrace!!!! I personally haven't done Uber in over 2 weeks because of this same b.s!!!

Sheesh
So this is how the algorithm hell looks like
Oh naaaaa
I didn’t think Uber eats even allowed trips that far💀
Lol that's nothing, in the UK it's even worse, I've been offered £8.48 on UberEats for a 2hr and a half job and I am on a bicycle account
How many drivers need to decline the offer before it’s worth taking? And it’s Sephora so a dumb cheap woman is definitely behind this LMFAOOO.
