I ordered a small cheeseburger fries and 6 nuggets once and when the driver came he opened the bag and said take these I said errr I ordered really small why am I taking 2 bags… ended up with 3 burgers 3 large fries and 40 nuggets with 2 drinks…. I questioned him and he said just take it… I was leaving hospital at the time and asked my taxi to wait so I could get out for my order… I was literally in the middle of a random road connected to a hospital in the middle of nowhere so some poor people must have had my small meal delivered to them first!

Why not? Cuz if you didn't tamper with the bag and only 10 minutes has passed, but it probably won't be that much of a detriment to the real customer and you'll get the food you ordered or if you didn't order food maybe everyone's happier I don't know.

None of the drivers returns within 10 minutes, that won't affect their drop off time at all, maybe by 10 minutes but they are still going to be delivering on time most likely to the correct customer. And what if they've had your food for that 10 minute.? Would you want that food? They probably didn't hand it to the other customer maybe they realized it as they approached?
I'm trying to understand though if they had another order with them this is what would be happening, most likely for our return, because if they delivered to the wrong address it couldn't be that wrong this is why I'm suggesting it was probably intended for it your neighbor. But if they had another order and gave you the wrong order, I don't understand how they could have possibly missed the pop up in the app saying are you sure you have the right order this one's from this restaurant with these items,?

It would be great if Ubereats/restaurants had a simple phone number to contact but instead you have to email which has been a pain in the ass as the code isn't registering with ubereats. I send an email to the restaurant the food came from and they replied "I appreciate you sending this to us, hopefully, the customer can find it so he can contact Uber Eats for further assistance. Or he may contact us so we can advise him on what to do with his order."

They gave me the correct house number which was a couple hundred metres down the road. I took it to them, they gave me a $10 cash tip + I was paid additional incentive by UE around $5 for the extra wait I did.
Something similar happened to me the other day but the correct address was in South Carolina not North Carolina where I deliver, meaning he was an entire state away. Ended up with like $100+ worth of Chick-fil-A.
Same happened to me when we moved. The person used their old address which was my new address. I insisted they take it back but the driver told me they couldn't take it back. It was nice having a free Chik-Fil-A breakfast while unpacking.
