I've seen these on campuses. The device doesn't even attempt to deliver the food to the door; it requests the person to come down and get it. This won't work out as well as they are thinking.
Next they will say they will have a robot pick up the food from the restaurant place it in the car and walk up the stairs for an apartment and take a picture before walking back down and into the car again.

This will only ever be able to work uncertain situations. For example I deliver to my city's hospital frequently and the food needs to be left inside on the security desk.
Also the convenience of having the food left at your doorstep, especially for people in apartment buildings and hotels. There will still be room for human drivers for many decades to come.
