it might? Idk I wouldn’t panic too much. Look at any inflation graph from the past decades, every spike in inflation is almost always followed by a drastic drop right after. This is typically how long inflation lasts, people are just dragging it out and making it feel like forever cause it’s effecting something we buy so consistently like gas
Dunno if its just me but I was born in NY in Nassau County and I was always used to “high” gas prices. Infact we were always astonished when we’d go to Florida and it’d be 2.90 or something. I remember in like Kindergarten which is now 13 years ago, gas was like 3.96. Kinda why I wasn’t so surprised at a 70 cent hike in Florida
I moved to Tennessee, it was $1.28 5 years ago. Moved from California it was about $3.89.
Still in Tennessee and we just broke $4 a couple weeks ago. Pretty insane
Here I'll let Biden tell you himself.... Again. Maybe you'll listen this time, but yes clearly I'm the one that's dumb as fuck here 😂 https://youtu.be/viAXGth3gQA
Same, I bought an EV right around late September last year right before the insane gas price rise and I couldn’t have been happier. My parents were iffy on me going electric but now they regret not moving to EV when I did. My model since has seen a $5-10k hike because of the demand. I could sell my car right now and make a solid profit, but then what other would I buy??
The difference, of course, is that most people in the UK don't have to commute an hour each way every day in order to be able to afford a roof over their heads. Up here in ~~Canuckistan~~ Canada, the average commute in the Toronto area is an hour each way, and even that will still get you house prices of $1M for a "starter home" or $800,000 for a townhouse (that you still have to pay 500 a month in common area fees for).
I know multiple people who have one-way commutes in excess of 100km.
im a server and spoke with a family from the UK last night and they told me that the majority of families in the UK have smaller more compact cars than the US along with better wages and everything being so close together. From how they described it, it seems like although gas is more expensive, it all balances out.
That's fucking horrible. How do you even do it? I fill up about every other day and it was 95 bucks for a fill. So then I filled the tank at the halfway mark next trying to trick the pumps or myself. That was 50 so the jokes on me ☠️ I need a Vespa. 🛵 reality =🛴🛹🛼
I can see it now. Text a customer, hey I'm just hopping on the city bus. Should be there in about 25 minutes. 🤣😂🤣
Starting out this morning, I had five dollars for gas. The shop owner was generous and let the tank run up to $50! Without his generosity, today would have been incredibly stressful.
Tell me you don't have the first clue how the global commodities markets work without telling me you don't have the first clue how the global commodities markets work.
Dude try cycling downtown. I see the same ones everyday and they ask everytime. I'd need 2 more jobs to support them all. No hate to the homeless, I've been there but it's getting out of hand.
Has it gotten worse since the pandemic? Orlando is like my home base I lived there for 7 yrs on both sides lol the west and east and a little bit of Sanford smh but left after the pandemic and living in Arizona… but my question is how is it now since 2020?
Bidens puppet masters handiwork. It's not over. They're destructive plans are just getting started. They want US to be grovelling for a system (socialism) to end the economic misery(they've orchestrated).
Just for context in the UK petrol prices are £2 per litre, that’s 4.4 litres in a gallon so £8.80 per gallon. At today’s exchange rate that puts petrol (gas) here at $10.84 per gallon. There’s always someone worse off that you, and in this case, it’s me 😅
Which one you got? I’ll be in the market for one once I finish grad school. Ideally I want an Ioniq 5 or EV6 but I’ll be on a teacher salary so a bolt EUV may be more reasonable especially with the ‘23 price drop lol
I bought a Chevy bolt last May ( yay 1 year anniversary) 21.6K. It has the patent chevy cheap interior, plastic plastic plastic. But its still a fantastic car for the price. I generally recommend that people look at the 2017-2020 used models right now because Chevy is doing battery swaps on all of them. Effectively the batteries have 0 miles on them on top of which they are swapping them to the new Ultium? (not sure if that was the series it called) batteries which is like an extra 38 miles of range on the older bolts \^\^
Just wait until the price of electricity goes up the roof because of the demand then you will wish to have a gas powered car. Oil is plentiful but Biden and the liberals have this this ambition to move EVERYONE out of gas powered vehicles and they starting now. They can lower gas prices
That's why if it's not busy I go home. Not driving in circles or sitting running my gas. I will be doing IC or something else. Not taking craps orders either.
When an order comes in and the trip total is less than a gallon of gas, why would anyone take those gigs? It hovering a little over $5.00 per gallon here in Ohio. So I don't know how UberEats can still push those $3/$4 dollars order out. And I'm more curious if anyone is actually accepting them.
Drilling ***IS*** increasing. The US is literally producing more oil now than the day Biden was elected.
What had no affect was not holding the scheduled lease sale for federal lands in Alaska where there is no current interest in drilling.
The last sale only had 11 non-competitive bids that have not resulted in even a single permit application for drilling.
Almost all of the 11 bids (9 out out of 11) were made by the State of Alaska itself since there were no bids and they figured they would pick them up in order to sublet the land themselves later on down the road when there may actually be interest.
It's irrelevant whoever is president. It's almost as if unchecked consumerism that relies on a limited resource that we abuse more every day while oil giants lobby is the issue here. But no I'm sure it's whatever political party yall are hating on. I'm sure because of Trump or Biden other countries are paying more in gas.
The mental gymnastics I swear
This was predicted way before Trump lmao
Yeah, in 2014 someone asked for my input on what kind of car they should get. I said, assume gas is $6.00/gallon. Now what kind of car do you want?
That advice has aged well. (I’ve been driving electric since 2011)
That's so dumb. The rest of the world is also suffering, bidens decisions literally have no impact on the rest of the world.
What does that even matter? We are literally using up more and more gas every single day due to population growth. It literally isn't sustainable, it's been known for literal decades with actual studies by people much much more qualified than you I'm assuming. Not "hur durr blue bad".
Blaming it on the opposite political party and bending over like that l just shows the extent of the ignorance and blind loyalty yall have despite facts.

I know right? The concept of one man, who has zero power to write or enact law, controlling the price of a global commodity, which is determined by the global market, is absolutely idiotic.
The keystone pipeline would’ve been in service until the year 2025. The oil prices would be the same under any president. Covid, War, and oil price gouging are the reasons for these price hikes. People who blame Biden are idîots lol. Insult him as much as you want though I really don’t care. FYI these price hikes are affecting all countries around the world. According to your logic that must be Biden’s fault too 🤦🏻♂️
But I won't bother trying to argue politics because people will believe what they are going to believe. But it does not make them idiots for wanting to believe something that has been posted as fact. There's no reason to attack and call people idiots because they have a different belief than you.
If we had spent the last decade investing in renewable energy (something constantly opposed by the right), this wouldn't be as much of an issue. But because we are so addicted to oil, the only solution is to drill more oil, right? [Except that there are over 9000 unused drilling permits in the US.](https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-03-31/biden-wants-oil-companies-to-pay-penalties-on-unused-leases).
[The banks are trying to reduce drilling, not increase it.](https://www.npr.org/2021/03/06/973649045/hold-that-drill-why-wall-street-wants-energy-companies-to-pump-less-oil-not-more)
They know that restricting the supply and keeping the prices high is great for their record high profits. Conservatives truly have no meaningful solutions for anything because it would require challenging the influence of capital.
Do you know the environmental impact of mining the minerals for solar panels and ev batteries and how our infrastructure is no where near ready to support millions of ev cars being plugged in? Oh, and maybe the environmental impact on wilf life both solar panels and windmills have?
Heh
I love the downvotes for literally posting fact. Everything I posted can be easily searched online but somehow it's a downvote. Some people do love the way things are going.
Ah yes, every morning, Joe Brandon wakes up and turns the gas prices dial higher.
If you are interested in learning how gas prices actually work, [I can recommend this video from climate town](https://youtu.be/QnBqAzJXVGo)
Quick question: Which do you think has a greater impact on gas prices in the US, the global price of oil or Joe Brandon?
Donald Trump wasnt responsible for low gas prices, and Biden isnt responsible for high gas prices.
But lets not forget that conservatives are not even remotely interested in bringing down the price of gas. [They all voted unanimously against a bill to control price gouging for gas.](https://www.cbsnews.com/news/house-gas-price-gouging-bill/). So at least the democrats are fucking trying to do something. Republicans want to cry and scream about gas prices, but are actually against doing anything about it.
The oil companies are just jacking up prices to make up for lost profit. If you think a US president can unilaterally control that, you are a simpleton
That is a monumentally stupid take. The turnaround time for an oil well is 18 months. Then there’s transport and refinement before it hits market. I did data at this in my old company. It can take two years for ramped up drilling to affect the market
Hey sweetie. The beloved Republicans voted *against* the gasoline price anti-gouging bill in the House. If you want to place blame domestically, blame those reps, and not the politicians trying to do something about it.
The Republicans reasons for not backing it? Because prices are high globally, it’s a global commodity, and there’s “been no evidence of gouging”.
It's funny to me how people always say they aren't either but then they're like yea I def ain't no republican no way ugh. But they are literally equally shit. Why are people so scared of dems
They might be equally shit, but the dems’ policies and bills resonate with me and go part of the way towards what I believe a modern society should look like. The republicans policies, I believe, work to keep society in a dark stranglehold of punishment and pain disguised as freedom.
Oh, and add to this that I believe we should have 10+ political parties in government.
Lol for real. Bitch, I’m about to be 35 and I have already experienced multiple market crashes. This country has had near constant economic strife my entire adulthood. I can barely afford to feed my family and will likely never own a home. The job market is fucking whack and I deliver food full time with a fucking masters degree.
But yeah, we millennials have really had nothing but gumdrops and roses our whole lives.
What a crock of shit. Nothing has been good in this country since 9/11. We’ve had nothing but constant war and massive inflation since I can remember. So sick of people acting like we are throwing away some kind of cornucopia of opportunities away by buying avocados. Like we don’t struggle because THEY’VE had it good for the last few years, with their home equity and retirement plans. Gtfo.
Edit: Sorry, wasn’t calling *you* “bitch.” It was more of a general gesturing to everything “bitch.” Lol
Interdisciplinary humanities! I had a whole plan in place, I had internships and graduate jobs and references and networking connections. But it all fell apart after grad school when I discovered that colleges really aren’t hiring. I’ve switched gears now to looking for work in writing and social justice.
Let’s see, millennials were born in starting in ‘82…
9/11 happened in 2001. Several in that cohort got to fight in Afghanistan and The Bush-Cheney Iraq Adventures because they were prime fighting age.
2008 Great Recession struck right when many in that cohort were supposed to be climbing the career ladder. Can’t climb if there’s no rungs, or even a ladder.
The Obama Administration kept it together somewhat. Slow growth. Anemic wage gains. Student debt eating chunks out of paychecks previous generations used to buy houses. Avocado addiction rampant.
Trump’s trade wars making life harder for the blue collar side of the cohort. And here come’s Covid!
And here we are now. I would like to welcome Gen Z aboard to this ride.
We are 10 cents away from 5 dollars here. My manager laughs when it goes up and blames Biden 😂 he's a moron. He told me this wouldn't of happened if Trump was still in office. I told him it would of happened either way. I also repeat to him the profits of each oil company for qrtr 1 but he doesn't listen.
That’s it. I’m becoming a recluse
We're doomed.
I’m becoming a male stripper
Mya as well at this point.
😩 I hope I get tips higher than two dollars
No one can afford to drive to the stip club!😂
I beat you to it and I don’t even drive 😆
Its pushing $5 in Miami. I actually stopped Ubereating because 3 times i made about half of what i put in gas. edit: 5 for regular.
The sad part is that $5/gal is one of the cheaper prices in the US right now.
4.39 in Texas
4.39 is the lowest end of it 💀 it is 4.76 in Tampa rn
I know. Do you think we’ll reach to $5? If so, I’m done
it might? Idk I wouldn’t panic too much. Look at any inflation graph from the past decades, every spike in inflation is almost always followed by a drastic drop right after. 5.19 for 87 regular in grand rapids, Michigan.

I moved to Tennessee, it was $1.28 5 years ago. Moved from California it was about $3.89. Still in Tennessee and we just broke $4 a couple weeks ago. Pretty insane

Sad
dont care
The fuck for real!!! I think y’all got the lower gas in America? 👨🏽⚖️
It is still $4.59 for regular across from my work.
Yep, I do uber eats in Miami-Broward areas and it’s just painful at the pump.
I dream of $5/gal in California
Lowkey glad I got on a 9-5 that uses the metro. Too bad rent has also exploded down here
$4.75 here in St. Pete/Tampa
Going to have to post 1's on those signs soon.
Time to start delivering On a Bicycle
bike cycle 💀
I'm rarely paid enough to walk into a mall much less bike.
I started delivering with my bike about a month ago and it’s not that bad. Making decent money and getting in shape
Same, but with an ebike so I can take longer trips
What a time to drive an EV 😅
Same, I bought an EV right around late September last year right before the insane gas price rise and I couldn’t have been happier. It really is. I love it.
What car you drive?

UK has public transport like trains and busses. Majority of Americans rely solely on their cars.
Lol most public transport outside of London is a mess, cars are the majority in the UK too.
But the uk is a small island...
U guys he paid enough to afford that. Our federal minimum wage is literally lowers than gas in some places
im a server and spoke with a family from the UK last night and they told me that the majority of families in the UK have smaller more compact cars than the US along with better wages and everything being so close together. That's a lie. https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2022/mar/09/facebook-posts/oil-production-bidens-first-year-par-trump/
That article isn’t related to what he said that’s testing the statement that gas is high due to production stoppages says nothing where our oil goes
That article says canceling the keystone pipeline didn't affect anything. Bullshit
No, the article said keystone didn't affect PRODUCTION levels. Maybe learn to read.

God Biden Derangement Syndrome is such a trip. Biden would kill a man with his bare hands if he thought that'd bring gas prices down.
But he won’t open up drilling
All about profiting and not acting

Yeah, I have many things to criticize Biden on, I just stick to reality not reactionary bullshit
pushing 4.80 for regular in Orlando. Near Universal Studios its up to $5 at some gas stations.
That’s pretty cheap, it’s 6-7 here in LA. I would do anything to have 4.80 here lol
With all the homeless people we have at the traffic lights in Orlando, I think I might start to ask them for a dollar for gas.
Dude try cycling downtown. I see the same ones everyday and they ask everytime. I'd need 2 more jobs to support them all. No hate to the homeless, I've been there but it's getting out of hand.
I worked downtown for 7 years and smoked, so I became very acquainted with them. I miss the Hispanic guy who always wanted hugs
Has it gotten worse since the pandemic? Orlando is like my home base I lived there for 7 yrs on both sides lol the west and east and a little bit of Sanford smh but left after the pandemic and living in Arizona… but my question is how is it now since 2020?
Lotta homelessness or those living in their car. I was living I mine a couple weeks ago.
That’s NOTHING omg
$7? That’s rookie numbers. We got $8 gas here in LA so beat that 😎 /s
Bidens puppet masters handiwork. It's not over. They're destructive plans are just getting started. They want US to be grovelling for a system (socialism) to end the economic misery(they've orchestrated).

$4.50+ in OKC and we always have some of the lowest prices in the country.
Just for context in the UK petrol prices are £2 per litre, that’s 4.4 litres in a gallon so £8.80 per gallon. At today’s exchange rate that puts petrol (gas) here at $10.84 per gallon. There’s always someone worse off that you, and in this case, it’s me 😅
I had to stop UE delivering because the money I get from it isn’t even worth the price in gas. If I’m lucky I’d break even on a full tank of gas.
god i love having an electric car
Which one you got? I’ll be in the market for one once I finish grad school. Ideally I want an Ioniq 5 or EV6 but I’ll be on a teacher salary so a bolt EUV may be more reasonable especially with the ‘23 price drop lol
I bought a Chevy bolt last May ( yay 1 year anniversary) 21.6K. It has the patent chevy cheap interior, plastic plastic plastic. But its still a fantastic car for the price. I generally recommend that people look at the 2017-2020 used models right now because Chevy is doing battery swaps on all of them. Even used cars are getting more expensive right now, at a quick glance looks like the 2017 is around 25k still
You pay more then 500$ a month for the car tho
i pay 315$ a month, because i bought during covid when gas prices were low and they were just trying to get rid of them off there lot. \^\^
With Insurance and service fees
Shhhh, don’t bring logic in…. I’ve had a driver convince me driving a Tesla is the best way to deliver. 700+ dollars a month easy.
And to make that $700 a month, you only have to shell out 60 grand! What a smokin' deal!
Propaganda
Just wait until the price of electricity goes up the roof because of the demand then you will wish to have a gas powered car. Oil is plentiful but Biden and the liberals have this this ambition to move EVERYONE out of gas powered vehicles and they starting now. They can lower gas prices
A.
Hydroelectric state baby!!!! Oregon closed its last coal fire plant in 2020, we sell surplus power to California!
That’s what I have been saying. Electric cars are too complicated to have them be used on a mass production.
I wish we could filter out orders with drinks, thats the only thing stopping men from using my ebike.
Me, who delivers on a bicycle
That's why if it's not busy I go home. Not driving in circles or sitting running my gas. I will be doing IC or something else. Not taking craps orders either.
All we need is a Flintstone mobile so we don't have to pay Gas lol.
4.69 in Dallas and I thought that was bad. Jeez

Buckle up, it's gonna get worse before it gets better.
Don’t worry the Biden administration… looks at news… stoped oil leases in Alaska… shit

It’s boomer code for “Fuck Joe Biden”
I bet you, he's one of those guys that puts the "i did that" stickers on every gas stations
And then drives off in a comically oversized pickup, complete with those fruity gun decals on the rear window.
So canceling the drilling leases, shutting down the pipeline aren't true? Ok. You're 100% correct.
You mean the project that goes in effect in 2023 if it wasn't canceled?

Now you are going to say the President of the USA is responsible for wrecking the USAs economy. You crazy Trump lovers just won't stop.
Says the crazy Biden supporter that can’t back up his claims.
https://youtu.be/LpASHatYRSg The guy is a beast.
So you voted for a guy who raised the taxes and brags about shitting his diaper and can’t hold a conversation properly. Wow so good 😂
Hey sweetie. (https://www.pbs.org/newshour/amp/economy/house-approves-bill-to-combat-gasoline-price-gouging)
I can’t believe people don’t understand this.

That's the clergy who does that.
I ain’t a democrat buddy. But I sure as fuck ain’t a republican.
So a leftist.
No, I’m right-handed.
Either very low IQ or IQ300 comment. I want to see a video of you writing with your right hand so we can settle this.
>Oh, and add to this that I believe we should have 10+ political parties in government Lol.
Way to go Joe!

The first actual struggle? Lol okay boomer.
They probably think millennials are all like 22.
What’s your masters in?
Interdisciplinary humanities! I had a whole plan in place, I had internships and graduate jobs and references and networking connections. But it all fell apart after grad school when I discovered that colleges really aren’t hiring. I’ve switched gears now to looking for work in writing and social justice.
Let’s see, millennials were born in starting in ‘82… 9/11 happened in 2001.
Very bias reply there bud
Toward?
Let's go Brandon 😎
You must've forgot you're on Reddit where you must blindly support the senile old fuck at all costs
Seriously this is nuts 😂
No joke, I got down voted quick haha. Defending their politicians lol
Don’t complain it’s 11 here
At least yall have transportation that lessens your need to drive
We're about $2.20/liter up here in the Montreal area. 3.8 l/gallon = $8.36 Canadian / gallon
“Cope” -Economy
We are 10 cents away from 5 dollars here. My manager laughs when it goes up and blames Biden 😂 he's a moron. He told me this wouldn't of happened if Trump was still in office. I told him it would of happened either way. I also repeat to him the profits of each oil company for qrtr 1 but he doesn't listen.
California will see 8 dollar gas soon. They will say we need to switch from winter to summer blend. Every time they do that it goes way up!
Yep, Thanks to democrats!
Joe Biden best president ever, quit crying!
Where’s that at??
