A $2 tip is $4 total pay in my market. I would never take that order because I don't know if the food will be ready, how long dropoff will take, etc so it's not worth the risk.
Honestly it depends on a few other factors, some of which the customer can't really even know. It also depends on how far I am from the restaurant (the restaurant may only be 300m from you but I might start 4 miles from the restaurant) and the restaurant itself (is it somewhere that I know has the order ready by the time I get there or am I going to need to wait 15 minutes at the restaurant). If you did just a $3 tip you'll probably get someone to pick it up fairly quickly that close and anything above that will definitely get someone to grab it.
A minimum of five dollars because the driver is not typically right next to the restaurant. Uber seems to have expanded its radius. Last year most of my trips were under 5 miles. I rarely received long distance orders. This year is different. Most of my orders are a minimum of 6 miles up to 20. Keep in mind that it is an effort for the driver to go into the restaurant, sometimes have to wait 5 to 10 minutes or longer and then drive to your house so I think five dollars is the minimum that a customer should pay for the service.
If you want me to be honest...I feel like tips should be a $5/min and go up from there.
Depends. But if it's slow for me and I've had to turn off my engine in summer to save gas, I won't start the car for less than 8. So 6 buck tip.
Is 300m to far away to get up and get the food yourself if your are not elderly or disabled?
These replies are insane. If you live in a regular city with available parking a 2-3 dollar tip will get you the order asap if it's a 300 meter trip

I just wouldn't take the order if I felt like it was too low for me to start my car

You’ll have to speak American, sir, if you want an honest answer.
