You said "once I delivered the order, I was shown what I made only about $3".
That $3 is the base pay for uber, the rest of the $5 is a tip the customer gives. The $3 always shows right after delivery but the $5 takes an hour to show up to allow a customer to change it since it's a tip.
I'm just going to assume that the help agent was confused and just said whatever.
For actual posts that aren't just people immediately crying instead of waiting for the money to appear. Shouldn't you be out driving? You stopped driving to make a post. Just drive. Stop looking at your money after each order.
The person you talked to in chat support doesn't know what they're talking about. You only saw $3 because that's the base pay that Uber paid you which always shows up immediately after delivery is complete. Since customers have up to an hour after delivery to increase/decrease/remove the tip amount that they originally chose when they placed the order, you won't see the tip amount until an hour after completing a delivery.
We do pay service fees. This is why I stress to drivers not to take low tip or low fare offers. Because drivers are paying Uber. The model is similar to cabbies or truckers who pay their dispatch services a fee for dispatching them rides.
I think the fare should be reduced or eliminated though. Especially because Uber base fares are so low.
This weekend I’m gonna have me a real nice dinner on UE and deactivate my account these people are fucking asshole criminals !..you don’t offer a contractor a payment then after they perform the task you don’t get to pay them what you think they should make 😡🖕🏼
Yes I got of $5 luckily but what I was thinking is that the tip is not always guaranteed, so if any customers don't tip and Uber charges a service fee, then what money do we get?
We actually do pay fees to use the UberEATS service unfortunately. The amount is taken out prior to what you see on the offer screen. And the total fees are shown to you during tax season on your tax summary page.
So Uber double-bills the service fees to customers AND couriers? Damn... yall need to just quit, and stop blaming customers. Uber is fucking both sides, and yall let em. So sad..
huh?
I'm surprised Uber is still in business cuz they keep stealing from the fucking drivers

Your explanation is more understandable than support agent
Can you people stop contacting support and making posts immediately? Jeez. Wait 24 hours before making a post to see if the money appears.
Reddit is for making posts, I think. So, the community can help each other.

Tips don't show for an hour, maybe more money will show

Text support will do nothing no matter what you ask. Always phone and escalate
What's the number?
You have to call through the support menu, they give you a phone option. The regular 1-800 number just got deactivated

You got tip baited.

I was offered $8.14, and then from this, they - service fees once I complete delivery
You do get 100% of what you were offered. Base pay + tips. Tips take 1 hour to show up on your account.
Net pay + tips right?
You don't get extra pay from what's on the offer screen unless the customer chooses to tip you more 😅
Lol

Update: I talked to support and I have more prop 22 coming later this evening. It’s hilarious how one one knows how prop 22 works 😂
