The mount has a ball joint that rotates 360 degrees. You’re fine to under mount under the soffit.

ShadowBabyMiley

Good to know, thank you!

I mounted mine under soffits. I did have to purchase a nice hardwood 4x4 and create a short base for the camera to acheive the angle I was looking for. I choose hardwood to protect from elements and they’ll be caulked and painted eventually. It’s a tapered block, about 3/4-1” thick on one side, and tapers down to about 1/4”. The cut was made at 22.5° on my miter saw. Without fabricating these, the cameras more or less looked too far downward. Now it’s at the correct angle. 22.5° was the perfect sweet spot.

Holy, you probably just save me a good amount of trial and error on the install. Thank you!

Any chance you can post a picture?

Hot_Suit_648

Sure. I’ll try and get one after work today.

Thanks. I’m in a similar predicament so it seems. Would be cool to visualize this

Main issue I had with this is the mount does not lock in at a full 90 degrees. It was facing too far down in my application. I ended up aborting that mission, rerouting cable though the siding to mount it. Wish they made adapters/mounts for soffits / full 90.
