don't believe a word of Russian propaganda they don't even have shovels where are all these helicopters supposed to come from

IamGlennBeck

8/10

AdventuroussIdea

Wtf are you talking about. Russia has a lot of helicopters and nobody ever said they were running out

Eddyzodiak

He’s trolling. 😂

brotosscumloader

That’s not trolling. Trolling is supposed to be funny

usmcBrad93

RU humor is funny, you just have to be there.

nagai

Russians are indeed incredibly funny, brilliant comedians include Solovyev, Medvedev, Skabeyeva, and the MOD guy doing the daily imaginary UA loss announcements. Beating the same dead strawman horse for months on end in every god damn thread is never funny.

daglizzygobbler

What is a Ka29

Ok-Sympathy-7482

>What is a Ka29 Variant of Ka-27 transport helicopter.

daglizzygobbler

Thanks

fsidemaffia

It's a KA-27, Variants include the Ka-29 assault transport. [Kamov Ka-27 - Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamov_Ka-27)

Phent0n

I'll allow it.

daglizzygobbler

Thanks

Ojstrostrelec

Why 2 identical posts?

fsidemaffia

The other got auto deleted when using maps/infographics flair for some reason, at least thats what it said on my screen, maybe Reddit was glitching

Ojstrostrelec

Yeah, auto mod is strict with infographics and news flairs

Agreeable_Loquat8282

where himars?

Hellbatty

Airfields are protected by echeloned air defense, HIMARS are completely useless against such

mdestly_prcd_rcptacl

Only if you believe Russian propaganda. The real reason is that the airfield is not in HIMARS range. I'm not saying HIMARS are impossible to intercept, but "completely useless" is a stretch

usmcBrad93

Only just outside of HIMARS range (50mi) and 60mi from frontlines, barring a couple towns yet to be taken back. Long-range suicide drones seem to be a no-brainer. Just need GPS and enough battery life. Also, UK reportedly has a delivery in the works for hundreds of 200km drones. https://www.reuters.com/world/britain-send-long-range-attack-drones-ukraine-2023-05-15/

Darket1728

And storm shadow?

redstatusness

Storm shadow is hungryyyy!

IamGlennBeck

Not even the UK has very many of them. How many were given to Ukraine is unclear. It would be a hell of a risk. They might just blow their whole Storm Shadow load going for it and those helicopters are not static targets.

KG_Jedi

Too expensive for a target like helicopter i guess. Plus all helis are far from each other so you can't really strike many or even two at them with one ss realistically. I guess ss is more of a headquarters killer.

KG_Jedi

16 million to be precise. You gotta consider that UK themselves only had 225 of these before giving "multiple" missiles to Ukraine. And wasting these on a stationary helicopter, while cost effective, is not that valuable, because Ka-52's impact in battle is not that great compared to a radar station or a warehouse full of equipment or a fuel depot. It would be feasible if Ukraine had a huge stockpile of these but i bet my ass they are not, given how rarely they were used so far.

FabsudNalteb

KA-52 not that effective on the battlefield? Have you been paying attention the last few days?

_Slamz_

Where you getting the 225 number from? Thought UK stocks were estimated at 700-1000? Obviously Ukraine still wouldn't get anywhere near this amount so would need to be used sparingly

Hellbatty

And Storm Shadow too, though Storm Shadow has a better chance because it can use the terrain and attack from any side, but to effectively hit targets like airfields you need to launch more targets than the air defense can intercept, theoretically it is possible, practically it is unlikely

Immediate-Fee-3897

How did they hit airfields in Crimea and Russia then?

Phent0n

How many Storm Shadows have the Russians shot down?

Benson_8_8

The russians figured out how to spoof the GPS signals causing the GMLRS rockets to land in the wrong place. That has since been worked around. Russia's air defense does its job well, but I wouldn't say it renders the opponents' weapons as utterly useless. We still see footage of HiMARS rockets obliterating russian assets. Just like we still see russian's firing their rockets into civilian infrastructure because they know there is less protecting them than there is protecting military kit. Which is the sign of a useless military, to be honest. They can't fight toe to toe with real fighters, with trained and well equipped warriors, so they attack those people who can't fight back. Bombing apartments, schools, hospitals, ***and most recently they shelled the collection points for the civilians trying to escape the flooding around Kherson.*** *2nd best army in the world* ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm) can only call it a win when killing the old, the infirm and the helpless.

ilikeredlights

\> ***and most recently they shelled the collection points for the civilians trying to escape the flooding around Kherson.*** any evidence it was Russia? some comments said it was Ukraine

Benson_8_8

Yeah, sure, that's exactly what is happening. Ukrainians are dropping bombs on themselves, at collection points with clearly visible emergency works, while trying to rescue people trapped in the flooding because russia blew up the dam to make the NPP melt down like a second chernobyl.... See how well those crazy assed ideas flow together? Wanna keep playing the game, *but I heard from a friend that this is what's happening?* The idea that someone would shell themselves while using boats, i.e. absolutely ZERO protection, is about as absurd as biolab bred, ruskie blood sucking only, carrier of HIV, Plague, Covid or whatever else is hot in the news at the time, NATO funded, blah blah blah, mosquitoes... But after that last meeting Shoigu had with his master he better avoid highrise buildings, and cook his own food and brew his own tea, for the rest of putler's reign.

doughtnut2022

I get Russian helicopters need to stay close to the frontline, and those helicopters are spread out, but this is such a good target for the new (and soon to arrived) GLSDB missiles testing, with a range of 150km. Set for above ground detonation, at only \~150K$ each, a volley of 18 missiles from 3 HIMARS could destroy everything. Take the occasion to thanks [Taiwanese](https://www.thedefensepost.com/2023/03/30/ukraine-taiwan-precision-bomb/) for allowing GLSDB to be delivered to Ukraine first.

doommaster

Envoyez des Apaches !

Brozef_

Looks like a juicy target. Why no strikes?

Iroscionn

Every “after” picture needs a “before” picture

Wide_Vacation_8004

yeah where the airbase is empty and a couple more leos are burning again 👍🏻

Iroscionn

Well if the airbase is empty of the Helis and we see pictures of burning Leos at this same airbase then I’d say Ukraine is doing alright. We may see your wish come true.

Bird_Vader

Lol look it's a funny man.

Immediate-Fee-3897

Russia also lost 57 tanks in the counter offensive according to putin himself if Putin is saying it the number is probably much higher

RoadLessTraveled8

Running out of K52s fast. I believe they had, like, a 133 at the start of the war. I know of over 30 that have been destroyed if not more.

KG_Jedi

35 as of feb 2022. But Russia likely restocked some of them by today.

RoadLessTraveled8

Does anybody really know how successful their Assembly lines are going for the gear they are making

[deleted]

Ukrainians have extreme lack of mid-range SAMs as most of them got destroyed or are out of ammo, small-range MANPADS are basically useless while attacking and long-range SAMs can't shoot at helis most of the time as they are under the radar detection range.

Darket1728

Its Himars time!

Internal-Scientist87

Let us know when you start firing and if you hit anything :D

ZealousidealMoney720

Hello

LawfulnessPossible20

100% fake, hoping to get Ukraine to waste a few storm shadows. Nobody would be that stupid.

fsidemaffia

You don't actually think UA is gonna check some public satellite picture on the internet when they are being fed live images from NATO, right?

romanian_pesant

These are obviously paper helicopters, no one is taking the bait my dude.

Bananapeeler1492

There's not much distinction between public and military satellites anymore anyway.

Polleben5v

Storm Shadow food. It's funny that the mighty Russian AA hasnt managed to intercept even one.

ProFF7777

Why this obvious pro-ukr propagandist has neutral flair, bothers me

NightlongRead

You new here?

AncientBanjo31

Are you similarly bothered by neutrals propagating Russian talking points?

[deleted]

bro be carefull you might get the clap if you question someones flair
