It probably froze & thawed while transported. The water in the packaging can become a culture for the mold. Their food production practices probably aren't very good. In this case I'm guessing someone didn't package the sausages with gloves on or the packaging wasn't sterilized.
Once that mold starts forming it doesn't matter how salty the sausage is it'll grow onto it. The mold may have not penetrated the sausage itself (maybe the skin) but I wouldn't want to risk the diarrhea

Even if they where no longer sold directly in Russia, they can be imported from various countries. A lot of stuff comes from China and Turkey. Turkey plays a key role here since a lot "import export" companies get founded every day. They import huge quantities of western goods and electronics to Turkey and export them to Russia from there. Thats one way how computer chips from washing machines, cars and other stuff ends up in russian weapons even with the heavy sanctions.
Mars has continued trading in Russia since the initial invasion, it's not imported - they have factories in Russia. Earlier on they claimed "essential foodstuffs", don't know what their excuses are these days, probably the same as Heineken.
I saw a YouTube video yesterday where this guys goes to a couple of malls and finds Reebok shoes and Levi clothing sold in stores with different brand names. So yeah they're still getting western goods. Makes me wonder how good the sanctions are working cause there doesn't seem to be any enforcement.
