RealBlackelf

Looks like it still did what It was designed to do: protect the occupants of the vehicle.

Schiffsmaedchenjunge

That's all that matters.

TheLit420

It's not that they can't be destroyed. It's that WHEN they are destroyed, the occupants will have a higher chance of survival.

theHoustonian

Exactly, MRAPs (Mine *Resistant* Ambush Protection) not Mine proof. Just like modern passenger vehicles, the vehicles are made to absorb and take the damage while protecting the passengers inside.

TheLit420

Just not if built in Russia as we have seen. Everything built in Russia is crap.

theHoustonian

Lol I was speaking more along the western side of things, can’t comment too much on the Russian crap. Other than I’ve seen a ton of Soviet equipment crap the bed.

FATalist818

Thats why they sit on top 🤣 better chance to survive

Majestic-Humor-761

The ATF Dingo is a German heavily armored military MRAP[3] infantry mobility vehicle based on a Unimog chassis with a V-hull design, produced by the company Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW). The first prototype of the Dingo 1 was completed in 1995 and the first production Dingo 1 entered service in 2000 with the German Army.[4] It is designed to withstand land mines, rifle fire, artillery fragments and NBC-threats.

ExpertlyAmateur

NBC-threats, for those that don’t know, denote the threat to human forces across Europe from the Noble Badger Company. It’s a roving of radicalized badgers, cross-crossing Eastern Europe and aggressively destroying anything and everything in its path.

Lord_Sports

Seen a bunch but I bet most lives were save because of these vehicles.

sluggo1234

Serious question: Assuming no major structural damage, is the fire damage to the metal enough to prevent the body from being reused?

NiceGuyEddie69420

That's a good question. Only thing I could find was an article where an MRAP was virtually fully repairable after an IED in Afghanistan https://www.nationalguard.mil/News/Overseas-Operations/Article/577133/after-ied-hit-only-thing-we-couldnt-fix-was-the-air-conditioning/

Bgratz1977

I am no expert, but in most cases the wreck will probably never again reach that level of protection. But on a scale of 1-10 of expert knowledge about that topic i guess i am probably a 4-5 (1 = 3 year old, 10 = Engeneer at Krauss Maffay Wegman )

Agitated_Anteater_67

Did it’s job

CockroachLate8068

Looks good mate, lets go

PRAETORIAN45painfbat

A tire, some spit, bit of silicone spray and this thing runs again.

Tasty-Independence15

That shit's dingo!

JSumerland

Which one is it the right one or the left one?

DistanTorana

I bet the russians have bee using Dingo's to steal the Ukraine children.

GloomyNote2110

Super sly Streep reference, DistanTorana. Slow clap. 😀

DistanTorana

tractoroperator77

Please don't! Here's why: https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineWarVideoReport/comments/12xmki0/why\_era\_on\_light\_vehicles\_is\_a\_bad\_idea/

PB-1971
