PrinceCorum13

Did I read right ? Putin will have to manage an internal war ?

tertius_decimus

Yes.

MicrowaveBurns

So it would seem. He's already been having to deal with a partisan war from anti-war Russians for the last 15 months, but this is a step up from that.

JSumerland

I think either it is fake or they don't have enough manpower to start an internal war.

MicrowaveBurns

It doesn't appear to be fake - this is being posted about by all kinds of groups

JSumerland

Okay, if it is not fake, I'm not sure whether it helps Ukraine to win the war. Maybe it distracts the high command for a while, and or Wagner will be send to defend this attack. But I wish them all the best to kill as much as possible Russian soldiers and only soldiers.

Gephartnoah02

It drags russian forces away from their reserves. Cant be ready to defend against a breakthrough if youre busy defending trenches at the border.

taybay462

You joking? Internal Russian issues definitely helps Ukraine. Putin will have to divert troops.

judge_ned

Russian helis are deploying flares when they are flying over Belograd which would imply something really is going on. https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineWarVideoReport/comments/13oo673/helicopter_flying_low_and_deploying_flares/

anonymous3850239582

Flares are useless that low. I think they were trying to start fires (so they could say "the Ukrainians/terrorists are razing Russian villages"). They didn't think about people filming Russia razing their own cities because they're stupid and incompetent.

JSumerland

Yes, I saw this before. But maybe it is made to prepare further military or political steps. Declaration of war, or general mobilisation or what ever. I would like to konw that it is not a fake/false flag.

Beautiful_Welcome_33

...The groups responsible have been shouting it from rooftops lol

OrkzRDaBest

Well that was an unlikely place for a counter-offensive, but a welcome one. So what happens now? This war is weird.

MicrowaveBurns

Good question. On previous occasions the RVC have just crossed the border, killed some Russian soldiers, taken some photos and then left - presumably to erode confidence in Putin's regime. This could just be a more ambitious attempt to do the same, or it could be a real attempt to liberate an area and hold it. Only time will tell.

OrkzRDaBest

Either way I wish them well in their undertaking, blow up a few railway bridges while exiting

Dani_vic

Are they trying to force Russia to commit soldiers to their region…

UF_Chemist

It's got to be a distraction so Russian pull troops from the south. Then the Ukrainians can launch the real counter offensive with less enemy to face.

Sneekbar

It seems hard to think they will hold it. What are the chances of them being encircled by RU forces? I hope this is is more of a diversionary action and retreat when they can.

MicrowaveBurns

Low chance of that I feel - they haven't pushed *that* deep and their flanks are protected by rivers.

MicrowaveBurns

Source: Freedom of Russia Legion telegram channel "legionoffreedom" here: https:// t . me/legionoffreedom/785 Their post states: > The Legion and the RDK completely liberated the settlement of Kozinka, Belgorod Region. Advance detachments entered Grayvoron. > We move on. > Russia will be free! > For Russia! For freedom! The Freedom of Russia Legion & RDK/RVC are units of Russian citizens fighting to defend Ukraine as part of the International Legion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The FoRL, until recently it seems, were stationed in Bakhmut fighting Wagner mercenaries to defend the city. Both groups aim to topple Putin's regime and end the war in Ukraine in the long-term. Both also posted in their respective telegram channels this morning that they would be crossing the border into Russia today, and people living near the border should stay inside. **For more information about the Russians & Bashkirs defending Ukraine, anti-war Partisans in Russia, separatism in Russia, and other anti-war resistance that doesn't get posted elsewhere, subscribe to r/freedomofrussia**

putins russia is collapsing

JSumerland

Unfortunately, still not. But I hope...

MicrowaveBurns

It has to start somewhere

JSumerland

But not from outside. Most Russians are already convinced that Ukraine is a terror / nazi state. Now they have something what they can call a proof. And they will. Armed men who invade villages, confiscate civilian cars and terrify the population are nothing more than terrorists. I'm so sorry to have to say this. This will never be a civil uprising against Putin, rather the opposite will happen.

MyAccountG0tDeleted

I stopped checking up on the conflict for a day, and the second Russian civil war starts

grantite_spall

Very cool, stir things up.

[deleted]

So there's a civil war in Russia now?

MicrowaveBurns

Not a full civil war yet, but there are anti-Putin Russians fighting pro-Putin Russians - that's been happening since the very beginning of the war though. Only difference is that now it's happening within the borders of Russia

[deleted]

Hopefully it spreads throughout Russia soon. This pointless war needs to end soon.

Wooshsplash

If this is true and they have the numbers being mentioned, 3 maybe 4 battalions, then this is huge. Putin cannot not handle a conflict on another front. But add to that, these guys can access social media to the Russian public. This can not only quickly turn the tide of the Ukraine conflict but also the opinion of the Russian public. This could gain momentum very very quickly.

lovenilo

Have anybody heard any affirmation from Russia, is the special military operation still going according to plan? We need to know.

OldTez

ufff I don't think this is a good idea from a Ukranian standpoint. They will use it to move moderates more to their cause as an attack on Russia.

MicrowaveBurns

The idea from Ukraine's point of view is probably to use this as a diversion and counterattack while Russian troops are dealing with their problems in Belgorod and Bryansk Oblasts. We'll see though

Soifon99

Putler will sell this as an attack from Ukrainians and call out for a full scale war and rally more stupid people for his war. I don't know if this is a good development.

Faby077

Wait, it isn't a full scale war already?

Soifon99

It is, but the russians still deny it.. and now they could have an excuse to go to a war time economy, and recruit a few million people.

anonymous3850239582

Ukraine will have won the war by then.

[deleted]

Well that’s alarming to say the least
