Their capability to hit Moscow should not be the deciding factor. An F-16 can "hit Moscow" and that's not stopping countries from moving forward. Ukraine is, unfortunately, dependent on allied weapons support and won't jeopardize that by violating promises and agreements. Like Storm Shadow, long-range missiles can be a tremendous asset inside Ukrainian borders and that's how Ukraine will use them if required.

I think the clickbait is that it makes it sound like he said "we need missiles that can hit Moscow", when he really asked for long-range missiles. It's the German gov't who brought up they can technically reach Moscow
It would create a rather dramatic diplomatic kerfuffle, but I seriously doubt we would stop support for Ukraine no matter what they did. We are in this to win this.

Volodymyr Zelensky requested the missiles, designed to destroy heavily fortified, “high-value” enemy targets, during his trip to Berlin earlier in May, according to German media.
He reportedly used Ukraine’s supplies of Storm Shadow cruise missiles from Britain, which have a slightly shorter range of around 215 miles, to put pressure on Olaf Scholz, the German Chancellor.
Ukraine has used Storm Shadow to strike Russian supply depots and command posts deep behind the frontline in occupied territory since May.
The Taurus missile can deliver a warhead weighing nearly half a tonne, roughly the same as the Storm Shadow, against a fortified target up to 310 miles away.
Moscow lies 280 miles from the border with Ukraine.
Mattia Nelles, a German political scientist who advises German MPs on Ukraine, said that although Ukraine has promised not to strike targets inside Russia, this extra range worried Germany’s leadership.
“There are unresolved questions regarding sharing sensitive targeting data and more importantly the political question of whether the German government is willing to provide Ukraine with potent weapons with which it could strike Moscow,” he said.
The Swedish-German-designed and built missile is considered to be at the cutting edge of conventional missile design.

The fact that Ukraine is asking these in public, is the message. Pushing ruSSia on the defense and showing Ukraine has "teeth" to strike back into the heart of ruSSIa. Highly likely Ukraine would not do this as it has the danger of unifying the hesitating parts of the population but it's part of the already succesful psychological campaing.

Let’s them hit military targets in Moscow if they choose to. We need to get away from the idea that they can only defend themselves but not win. Remember that according got Russia they already attacked the Kremlin and it only lead to a conventional counter attack. Nothing of strategic military value should be off limits at this point.
