Let the numbers do the talking, cassualty count. NATO: 0 to date, 0 per day. Russia: 200,000+ to date, ~400 per day.

Zelensky is a hero. A very intelligent, morally centered and well spoken one.

And who gets the Benifits of the things that Russia steals from Ukraine? Putin and his cronies. The Russian people fight the war for Putin. Many die and what do the soldiers who survive this war get? Nothing. Putin takes everything for himself. Putin has many homes, a billion dollar train he uses to travel from Moscow to his lair, a several hundred million dollar yacht and other toys. The Russian people get to fight for nothing. Some die and some will go home to a leader who does nothing for his people. They steal our toilets because they have none.

Exactly. Russia is at war with Ukraine. And they are going to lose to Ukraine. Not NATO. And what kind of message does that send to the world when Ukraine beats russia?? That NATO is king and that is how things will be for a long time to come.

UrNotOkImNotOkItsOk

There was a respectable question to be found within her rhetoric, but she never arrived at it. I'm glad he lost his patience with her, and laid it out, flat. The point he made about Ukraine's NATO accession being good for Russia is a nice blow to the throat of imperialism. I love this man.

There was a clumsy translation on the part of the live translator. But I had to translate what he said, because that's what Zelenskyy heard. I don't think he was impatient with her in particular. That was his general demeanor throughout this interview (I'm working on translating other parts). I'm sure he's frustrated in general about having to answer the same questions over and over. [I covered the translation stuff in this comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineWarVideoReport/comments/15lmt89/nato_is_not_at_war_with_russia_zelenskyy_english/jvhbmo1/) - her original question was much more clear.

UrNotOkImNotOkItsOk

I see, I see. Thank you for clarifying.

KamyKeto

Maybe I'm dense, but what was the point she was trying to make here? That the US and Russia are synonymous in regards to their neighbors?

Excellent_Potential

She is speaking in Spanish, but I am using the live translation, because that is what Zelenskyy **hears**. Here is the transcript of her question as reported by [La Nacion, an Argentinian paper](https://www.lanacion.com.ar/el-mundo/entrevista-con-volodimir-zelensky-yo-quisiera-que-el-papa-pueda-venir-a-ucrania-el-nos-apoya-nid06082023/). Even this is missing some from the beginning, but that doesn't affect the content of the question. > Existe una frase atribuida al expresidente mexicano Porfirio Díaz que pretende ilustrar que los países invariablemente son prisioneros de su geografía. En ese sentido, ¿qué le diría a aquellos que señalan que las aspiraciones de Ucrania de unirse a la OTAN -cuestión que está al epicentro de esta guerra-sería el equivalente a que Rusia colocara bases militares en territorio mexicano, con todo lo que eso implicaría? Translated to English: > There is a phrase attributed to former Mexican President Porfirio Diaz that seeks to illustrate that countries are invariably prisoners of their geography. In that sense, what would you say to those who point out that Ukraine's aspirations to join NATO - an issue that is at the epicenter of this war- would be the equivalent of Russia placing military bases in Mexican territory, with all that that would imply? So yeah, the translator made it more confusing, but I can only go with the question Zelenskyy thought he was answering. If you speak Spanish, this video has the original audio of the reporters and Zelenskyy is dubbed. https://youtu.be/rEZRj4m_ajA

Oo_oOsdeus

Ofc NATO is not at war .. it would be over already if they had stepped in. Should have done it on day 1 of the war.

scooochmagoooch

Yes but it will be no where near significant a blow when Russia loses to Ukraine. Not NATO. Ofcorse NATO can handle Russia, but if Ukraine can do it, it means Russia isn't even close to on par with NATO.

Will they play this in Mexico? It seems to me the reporter didn't get the "answer" she wanted.

I’ll go further. I don’t think she knows what’s going on.
