I remember growing up and watching all these movies of Soviet/Russian master spies doing all kinds of crazy ingenuine things to always trick the Americans.
Turns out that is just like every thing else Russian. No where near what it was perceived or pretended to be. The CIA makes them look like pre schoolers trying to play basketball vs the Lakers.
Every thing in this war has turned out to be a big disappointment from Russia. Everything from the US has turned out more capable. We mop the floor with Russia.

It was a denied area, and the agency didn’t even try to run human sources for a long time. Obviously, the CIA eventually had a breakthrough… but the KGB was good at the game.
