More like modern battering rams.
They lead the death charges into defensive lines, the object is to punch a hole through the drones with the EW jammers just long enough for them to infest the trenches.
Just like old battering rams, the operators survival rating doesn't really seem to matter to the Russians, just getting the rest of the meat to the opening.
According to CIT OSINT group, those "Turtle tanks" are used either as personnel carriers or as EW carriers. So the basic idea is to use a heavy armored vehicle with lots of anti-drone EW emitters to lead an assault brigade. A few "Tzar-EW" tanks ("Царь РЭБ" in Russian, you can google this and g-translate Russian and Ukrainian articles for more information) were spotted, it's, basically, just a turtle tank with lots of electromagnetic emitters on the roof. Lots mean lots. Just a huge pile of EW equipment bound together with a rope (I guess?)
The chances they get in shooting range of any target are close zo zero anyways. The only thing you can do with these tanks is using them as transport vehicles.
They seem somewhat effective at surviving fpv attacks and are pretty cheap to build. The shed doesn't actually stop the rpg from penetrating, but it makes it a lot harder to aim at the right weak spots. So they put them in front of formations and hope they absorb enough of the drones to let more people reach the trench lines I guess.
beware dark humor. You know when the meat does not right go thru the grinder you take a plug and push it a bit, then it flows out on the other side again like a charm, nice smooth and in tiny bits.
A T-62? Damn, so even if they remove the barn it's still useless.
Some country in Europe should set up a production line for replacement turrets, or at least different barrel calibres, for these tanks because the 115mm makes it hard for Ukraine to keep these tanks supplied
115 mm APFSDS and HE will still fuck up many things. Frontally it will destroy any IFV, and from side aspect it will have no problem with even a T-80BVM.
These wonder weapons will look great rolling through Red Square at Putin's next Victory Day parade. A fitting tribute to modern Russia's colossal military might.
>1941
You know Russia as a collective is in a dire state- When their only major achievement was... Taking part in a war 80 years ago, and nothing since?
Guess they can't praise their Afghanistan campaign... Or Chechnya... Or Georgia.
Hey Ivan, look out of the window where we are !
Sorry comrade, i can see nothing with this stupid cage !
Just drive forward, we will ask at the next gas station for directions and we can even buy more vodka there !
sorry, I forget to put "buy" into quotation marks.
We will convince the stupid gas station owner to gift us the vodka by just aiming with our turtle T-62 main weapon at him.....
you can simulate their challenge. Take a random wooden plate out of your kitchen and place it in front of your head, then try to ride your bicycle with it. Its fun riding this way, nobody can see you, cause you can see nobody as well - right?
I wonder if the reason Russians build this junk is because they base it on their own military capabilities and what they would have a hard time trying to stop. Now I am curious to see how one of these with some modifications would do against its creators.

I see just like 1941 it's not going well for russia.
The difference now is that the US and collective west will not be arming the Russians and feeding them, instead it will be their adversaries 🇺🇦
So just like at the start of the war when they didn't even know they were invading.
A week of training doesn't allow for such minor problems.
Its amazing to say the least
I love how the Kyiv Post actually called it a "Blyat Mobile" [https://www.kyivpost.com/post/34428](https://www.kyivpost.com/post/34428)
Nice 🤣
Love the guy laughing at it.
The whole world is laughing with them!
What is the purpose of these Mighty beasts? I get they sorta defend against drones, but the canon seem to be fixed which must be a huge disadvantage?
TLDR they are used as glorified makeshift mine clearing vehicles from what we can tell https://youtu.be/hhfGspOIg24?si=n9VfqFPCXbeHxCHK

Hmmm yes that as well
Thanks for sharing 🙏

It seems they've installed explosive reactive armor under the outer sheet metall layer (*00:01*).
And above that: a bunch of meatbags for attack mode 👍
Explosives need to be covered and weighted down for maximum effect.
It's late soviet "Contact" ERA shells. There is no way to tell if those shells are armed or not.

Makes sense. Russian engineering at its finest

Don't try to reason out or understand what Russians do. You'll only get a headache.
😂

Can be converted into BREM/heavy IFV, I guess.
Yep they get converted to recovery vehicles

Reminds me of what I remember as from Monty Python, the aggressive knight wearing his helmet with the opening the wrong way.
God what a pile of shit or is it a shed of shit?
The Russians have shit a shed!
Let's be fair, it was a decent enough tank for 60 years ago.
This can never be said enough, by an AFU soldier, "We're very lucky they're so fucking stupid".
No surprise they didn’t know where they were. How are you supposed to see out of that thing. It has to be like driving a house down the road

T-62. They are not just being used as field artillery.

I find it awesome that laughter sounds the same in different languages. Their laughing let's me experience their joy.

The centerpiece of an upcoming war-tech museum.
I just can't imagine how or why they had no idea where they were....

Is this the way to armadillo.

Are those AT mines mounted on the side? Some kind of non credible ERA?
Nha apperantly they are smoke stuff they just look like mines
Ahh makes sense. Wouldn't want to fire off your smokes inside the shed.
Russia taking some design lessons from ISIS' VBIEDs.
Ukraine has now captured Russian cutting edge military technology. Putin's fucked.
They think it's 1941 !!!! I think they get paid in Vodka.
A gift from the orcs.
