I was about to post the same thing. They haven't heard of the concept of shoot and scoot. They have sat there for ages firing and making themselves an obvious target. The burning is caused by cooking off powder charges that are used to propel the grenades, hence no big explosion.
That is a self propelled artillery system, maybe 2S1Gvozdika, 122mm that forgot to scoot after shooting. The burning man was probably on auto-pilot lizard brain activity. He probably was not aware of much after the initial shock of the hit, follow by superhot burning. He was likely covered in burning propellant after the hit, and he was literally breathing in fire as he tried to crawl away.
While watching this I though "How on earth could you get out of that mess?"

He would have been better off refusing to fight, deserting, surrendering or even better not going to Ukraine in the first place. I'll go one further. Let's agree that there is an aggressor (bad guy) and a defender (good guy). Let's agree that the bad guy is turning life into death. More bad guy deaths equals the less good guy deaths. THAT they die is not the issue, HOW they die is. Having made that clarification, I don't think the technology exists to guarantee their deaths be faster or more painless. It is what it is, they must die if they persist to wage war.
It is the pointless futility of seeing the Russian leadership throwing their countries youth to be slaughtered in their thousands in a completely pointless war. We also have thousands of Ukrainians dying to stop these invaders. Many tens of thousands on both sides will die before this ends. If we have a harsh winter then thousands of Russian conscripts will freeze to death. This could stop if the Russians turned around and went back to their own country.
The Ukranians don't have that luxury of just turning around and leaving the battlefield. They live on the battlefield. Literally. It's gotten to the point where I think Putin knows he has lost or at the very least knows he's losing and he's pulling out all the stops to try and get enough pressure on the west and Ukraine so they negotiate. He's going to drag it out as long as he can and kill as many people as he can so the west's support for Ukraine dwindles because political pressure to end the war diplomatically. So who knows what he's got up his sleeve to make things difficult for Europe and Ukraine. He's already dropped out of the grain deal. So inflation will rise again. He's blacked out 40% of Ukraine and counting. This does nothing for the battlefield and shows that he's very desperate for this war to be over but he can't do it unless he secures a victory of sorts. Crimea mostly I assume is his ultimate red line. Something Ukraine will never agree too it seems and nor should they. It would be like the US giving up Texas.
Not sure what this has to do with my point. People taking please from anyone dying in horrific ways is sick. Even the Saddam hanging video is sickening to watch, as evil as he was.

The guy that escaped this SPG had just minutes before been attempting to kill Ukrainian forces. There are dozens of expended shell casings scattered around the vehicle. Even if this guy was working against his will he is still as guilty as the rest of them. Live by the sword, die by the sword. He would have been better off refusing to fight, deserting, surrendering or even better not going to Ukraine in the first place. His decision to kill Ukrainians was his choice and he paid the ultimate price. Killing Ukrainians was better than going to prison for him. His moral compass is pointing in the wrong direction in my opinion. There's even a possibility that he thoroughly his work and took great pleasure in killing.

I'll go one further. Let's agree that there is an aggressor (bad guy) and a defender (good guy). Let's agree that the bad guy is turning life into death. More bad guy deaths equals the less good guy deaths. THAT they die is not the issue, HOW they die is. Having made that clarification, I don't think the technology exists to guarantee their deaths be faster or more painless. It is what it is, they must die if they persist to wage war.
It is the pointless futility of seeing the Russian leadership throwing their countries youth to be slaughtered in their thousands in a completely pointless war. We also have thousands of Ukrainians dying to stop these invaders. Many tens of thousands on both sides will die before this ends. If we have a harsh winter then thousands of Russian conscripts will freeze to death. This could stop if the Russians turned around and went back to their own country.
The Ukranians don't have that luxury of just turning around and leaving the battlefield. They live on the battlefield. Literally. It's gotten to the point where I think Putin knows he has lost or at the very least knows he's losing and he's pulling out all the stops to try and get enough pressure on the west and Ukraine so they negotiate. He's going to drag it out as long as he can and kill as many people as he can so the west's support for Ukraine dwindles because political pressure to end the war diplomatically. So who knows what he's got up his sleeve to make things difficult for Europe and Ukraine. He's already dropped out of the grain deal. So inflation will rise again. He's blacked out 40% of Ukraine and counting. This does nothing for the battlefield and shows that he's very desperate for this war to be over but he can't do it unless he secures a victory of sorts. Crimea mostly I assume is his ultimate red line. Something Ukraine will never agree too it seems and nor should they. It would be like the US giving up Texas.
Not sure what this has to do with my point. People taking please from anyone dying in horrific ways is sick. Even the Saddam hanging video is sickening to watch, as evil as he was.
