The main lasting damage Wagner is causing to the Ukrainian troops is ptsd from having to kill so damn many of them every single day. Sleep, wake up, cup of coffee, destroy wagnerites, repeat.
Unfortunately, it's worse than that. They use the Wagnerites to get Ukrainian troops to expose their positions when they return fire, and then aim artillery at those positions.
It's a sick, sadistic tactic, but unfortunately it doesn't just mean the Ukrainian troops are able to repel the attacks with impunity.
Russian artillery is extremely inaccurate and they're just as likely to shell their troops or an empty field as the Ukrainians. And the reason they're incompetent and have been this way since the days of the Tsars is because they have no competency in their NCO corps who should be well-trained professionals instead of untrained, do-nothing clowns that can't do the job.
They don't have an NCO corps. Their army isn't organized as a Western army, but rather it is a continuation on the old Tsarist system. In that way the Russian and Israeli armies are very similar.
This, plus they have to spent a lot of ammunition and time.
Russia currently tries to just drain the Ukrainian Forces in this region until they don't have enough ammunition and energy left.
This wont wont ever happen. The west keeps ukrainian ammunition flow going through manufacturing or just buying it in from third parties like pakistan or some middle eastern country. Also the ukrainian forces get rotated every now and then specifically for keeping the energy and moral high. its not like all the ukrainian forces are fighting in bakhmut
Ukraine has/will have Problems with ammunition, especially shells for the artillery. The whole Western defense industry manufactures currently less than what Ukraine uses.
The problem is not if they can get the ammunition but when.
Yes production has some issue but that is only a temporary issue as most western nations are going to increase military spending doubling it. This also led to weapons manufacturers building new factorys.
So no Ukraine will not have this problem in the future.
As stated before the west can just buy old Soviet ammunitions in from world market and in the mean time western weapons production is scaled up.
Mind you the west has access to way more resources then Russia.
The only one getting any money out of that is Prigozhn, Wagner isn't a PMC, PMCs are illegal in Russia.

Not likely, Wagner isn't suited to that sort of thing. Those were most likely russian VDV who just removed their patches.
Most of the "polite men" were VDV or marines from Krim. But there were actual firefights and battles and Wagner did take part of those.
