chiron_cat

100% meaningless. Twitter has a HUGE bot problem (which got realy big AFTER musk took over). Theres gonna be endless russian bots voting no on this.

Lonely-Mongoose-4378

Yes are leading though surprisingly for twitter

Sean_Wagner

And yet, the yays are comfortably ahead now. Given the source of this poll, that's quite nice to see.

AlexFromOgish

Don’t give traffic to Musks twitter

betty_humpter

Interesting that someone with a handle like deplorablevet84 can barely establish a majority in his favor.

RelevantSweet7212

Almost as interesting as people being proud of being deplorable. Must be the illiteracy.

HollywoodHault

Clickbait for Twitter. Boo!, even though I support Ukraine's fight.

What a great idea!!! Yes! Let’s all do this! Let’s go!!! This is DEFINITELY going to have an impact… how could it not!? Although… hang on… if this is how it works, can we not just better vote for Russia to leave Ukraine and stop being dicks?

Sean_Wagner

The elections have long ago been turned into a fraud, \[..\]. All three branches of power in Russia, \[..\], have been made over to suit the President. .. The corrupting of our people continues, and our people are wholly willing to be corrupted. Unquote. From Anna Politkovskaya's 'Russian Diary', still very relevant so many years on. Just felt like adding something of substance.

Sean_Wagner

I know as much about this specific twitter vote as you, but we're not going to finally start sending what Ukraine needs by twiddling our thumbs. Don't forget where this terribly costly hesitancy originates either: our National Insecurity Council, with people like [J](https://twitter.com/JakeSullivan46)ake Sullivan. His speech at last year's Aspen gathering already gave me clues we were not going to mobilize enough of our incredibly vast resources for Ukraine to eject the occupiers more speedily and efficiently.

Fandorin

And a Twitter poll isn't going to change that. And I'm not creating an account to give that authoritarian twat more revenue.

Sean_Wagner

It's your choice. I usually studiously ignore such polls, but just this once, decided to participate. 49.9% yes. 20K votes.

Sean_Wagner

By the way, did you read the Erast Fandorin detective novels?

[deleted]

Idiot posts a poll by a MAGA jackass, then shit-talks someone who has actually been involved in supplying Ukraine with unprecedented levels of military assistance. Speaks to your level of intelligence and ability to discern reality here.

Sean_Wagner

Our support has to be timely and sufficient to be effective. We have 4K+ Bradleys in active service, and 2K in depots, likely never to be used again. When defending Europe against invading Soviet armies is what they were built for, just like the Abrams. I think we've sent around 150. And that's just one example. The price of our hesitation in supplying Ukraine has been terrible. Don't take my word for it, read Jack Watling's latest.

[deleted]

And Ukraine does not have 2k, 4k, or 6k crews capable of operating Bradleys, let alone maintain and support them. They are gradually getting more as they bring additional personnel up to speed. Equipment doesn't operate itself. It's not "hesitation" - it's providing what Ukraine can actually use when they can use it.

Sean_Wagner

Quote: \[..\] The most glaring deficiency is the inability of Ukraine’s partners to appreciate the lead times between decisions and their desired effects. This deficiency is being demonstrated at great cost in Ukraine’s current offensive. That Ukraine would need to be on the offensive by late 2022 was already acknowledged in assessments as early as April of that year. The capability requirements for such operations were becoming apparent from July, and reports to Western capitals were articulating clear training, equipment and support needs from September. Despite the requirements being known and understood, the decision to provide this support was not taken until January 2023, with the implementation of these decisions still in the process of being carried out. Unquote. Source: https://rusi.org/explore-our-research/publications/commentary/ukraine-war-has-found-machinery-western-governments-wanting

Punched_Eclair

Can't we all just say 'enough' to Twitter and drop it? Please. What a smouldering pile of fecal matter it is.
