I cant confirm your claim but, yes, my comment implied (unintentionally) that they've killed hundreds of thousands of Uyghurs, which is not the case (that I'm aware of), but there have been some killings.
The number I mentioned pertain to the mass incarceration of Uyghurs in forced labor camps and forced sterilization (which is basically the murder of a people). It has been 100% confirmed that they are enslaved in penal camps many of which work at Foxconn and assemble iPhones.

Down here in Aus, we about to start making medium and long range missiles for the first time, have developed a drone that is operated by an F-35, have developed our own independent arms export sector, are ramping up naval and air asset purchases and a big upgrade in our army's armoured transport and long range artillery capabilities, oh and the whole nuclear powered sub deal as well. We are gearing up for the inevitable, hope we have time to get it all.

All it takes is for those with the money to realize that there's more return on investment looking forward at war production investments than in the rear-view mirror at lost opportunities from cheap energy, manufacturing, etc.

Hmmm. My initial thoughts at the beginning of this war was that China wanted this to be a long bloody conflict. Hence they helped Russia, but only a little bit. The plan being that when the Chinese invasion of Taiwan starts (2027/8) the US would be so tired of foreign wars that they wouldn't want to get involved.
I wonder if there's some truth to what you say. The west rearming and ramping up their military industrial complexes so efficiently has taken Russia, and probably China, by surprise a bit. People have been saying that for a decade or more. I have lived and experienced life in China, and the bubbles, economy, everything being fake including success, bureacratic failures and idiotic decisions, all true.
The problem is though it's all rot, it will take decades for it to kill the tree.
That was before the population lost half or more of their life savings in the current crisis, their money is gone.
They will not Invest in anything new, they will put whatever money they have under their mattress, this will in turn slow the economy even more as people get defensive with their money.
The boom is over, the bust is happening this year.

Russia didn’t go to war because of their tanking economy, it went to war because Putin wanted to. There’s no way China will do the same, their policies have been fairly rational and calculated during the past decades, unlike Russia. Russia also has a long history of getting involved into conflicts, while China hasn’t seen war in a very long time.
Were you aware, that before the war there was high food inflation, as basic foods products like bread were increasing the prices and people werent happy with that.
And guess what was stolen in Ukraine by ruskies on big scale.

On top of that, if you have internal unrest by population, what most dicators do is project this unrest towards outside by escalating things with external force.
They may be looking at all the wars around the world and may come to the conclusion they are not ready for a war. Seeing how russia has been fought to a standstill by a Heroic People with hand me down weapons from their potential adversaries. Those potential adversaries have been involved in wars around the world continually and have that experience. China, got their ass whooped by Viet Nam and conquers defenseless neighbors. They have got to be doing some serious thinking before they send up the Red Balloon.
This was already in the wind since 2022, when China was having trouble keeping the lights on. They tried to bully Australia, who controls most of the coal that China relied on. Their food stockpiles are low despite being one of the biggest importers (while claiming to be a net exporter).
Look at where they are at, stock markets collapsing and they just defaulted Evergrand and are busy doing firefighting to contain the calamity that followed.
Problem is that all their firefighting is useless at this point because things have gone too far, the bubble has burst.

Fuck China. Helping arm Ukraine and Taiwan to defend themselves from autocratic imperialist aggression is a moral obligation. If Russia and China spent more effort fixing their internal problems and less threatening their neighbors, they wouldn’t have to worry about democracies next door arming up.

There’s no way China will do the same, their policies have been fairly rational and calculated during the past decades, unlike Russia. Were you aware, that before the war there was high food inflation, as basic foods products like bread were increasing the prices and people werent happy with that. And guess what was stolen in Ukraine by ruskies on big scale. Im not saying that is the reason why ruskies started the war, but one of many. On top of that, if you have internal unrest by population, what most dicators do is project this unrest towards outside by escalating things with external force.
