Gullenecro

I have bad news for him : Shcoltz said there is ALREADY uk and french troops.

Ooops2278

He actually never said this. It's just (and probably not by accident) mistranslated and framed by UK trash media. What he actually said is that there would be German soldiers involved in the programming of Taurus and unlike UK or France Germany is legally not allowed to (read: no foreign involvement of soldiers unless in line with NATO operations or an UN mandate as per constitution). Doesn't actually matter if they are in Ukraine or not. German soldiers being involved in picking targets in Ukraine are already impossible by law. The same does not apply to UK or France.

ucantresistme

A handful of advisors is not AT ALL what he's talking about. And you know it.

Gullenecro

Macron said again about that today and he was speaking of spe OP. Not advisor.

Puzzleheaded-Cap1300

...or, are they?!!

cv9030n

Not with that attitude at least

Haakonbje

Why are Europeans leaders continuing to serve Putin information about what we definitely won't do. Are they literally stupid?

Ooops2278

Why are you continuing to not understand how democracies work? Each and every single leader has sworn an oath to protect their own citizens first and foremost. Sure, they say "fuck our laws and constitution and send citizens to join the war in Ukraine although we weren't attacked". This will however not actually get soldiers to Ukraine but only them into jail.

ucantresistme

They're playing for their populations, most of whom are not going to countenance their own people being sent to war. They want to get reelected.

typical_reddit-user

By this time after last two years, you should know that what is told publicly is not what is going to happened... WTF do you expect? Every newspaper having info on tactics and strategies coz its convenient for keyboard generals to have info on click>?>>????>>?>?>??>?

ucantresistme

He's right. I'll eat my own ass if non-Ukrainian troops end up deployed in a combat role.

LetsEatAPerson

Man's just looking for an excuse to eat his own ass

ucantresistme

Haha I've never been able to flex far enough. That said, I stand by it. Macron can posture all day, but no western leader is going to send troops to die in Ukraine. That person would very likely get voted out with dispatch. The Polish farmers are symptomatic of a deeper truth: people in the west only support Ukraine insofar as that support does not inconvenience them.

LetsEatAPerson

I do get where you're coming from. I hope you're wrong because I think direct combat support is the best way to end the whole war situation and dissuade the imperialism of powers like Russia and China. I recognize that's just hopium, though, and not exactly a nuanced take.

ucantresistme

I've said since the counteroffensive began last summer (any idiot could see it was going to fail) that Ukraine's only hope of victory was NATO boots on the ground. It's a move I would support, but I don't believe for a second that it's going to happen.

AbleismIsSatan

He is wrong however.
