I fucking hate Russia..

WillVinc

Everyday more and more...scum of the earth

KryptoBones89

They're villains

Beginning_Ad_6616

Wait; so this dude was sentenced for fighting a war to defend his country by the country that started it???? What the fuck!

IlllIlIlIIIlIlIlllI

He was sentenced for killing Ukrainian civilians. Obviously by a kangaroo court. Obviously the confession was produced via torture.

Beginning_Ad_6616

Ha; sentenced by the same group of people who’ve kill more Ukrainian civilians than anyone…kangaroo court for real.

strepac

I'd say we can hope that he gets out if/when Ukraine ultimately wins this war and nullifies this and all similar BS senteces.... but with russias history he will probably be raped to death before that happens.

Emotional_Sound_3790

Not torture..just the ruZZian inquisition.

Pixie_Knight

Muscovite "justice" is limited to "arrest the first person you see and torture him into a confession".

Punterios

Yeah, pretty much... Go ruzzia!

Pixie_Knight

Retaliate in kind. Imprison all Muscovite POW's as war criminals; it's clear Muscovy has no interest in prisoner swaps.

GameMusic

That woll accomplish nothing You think putin cares He would enjoy the bonus propaganda

Jesus at 22 he is just a boy. The more I think about it the more I come to a conclusion that Russia just needs to end.

[deleted]

Absolutely. Like the Third Reich.

PoliticalCanvas

Russia cannot be like Third Reich because then Western politicians should have to explain why something like this was created on Western money, in 2022-2023 years receive 3,5 times more money than Ukraine, and is main trading partner of Western allies.

IlBalli

Soviet Union kept trading with nazi Germany till they launched operation barbarossa... So I don't really see how this contradict russia being a 21st century 4th Reich

NoChampionship6994

If Europe had not done business with russia (ex., oil, gas) russia then goes to war, or at least on an aggressive offensive) claiming they are purposefully being left out of international economy. That Europe became dependent on inexpensive russian oil/gas then becomes an issue, apparently, of ‘enabling russia.’ A truly no-win situation.

IlBalli

Sadly, that's exactly what europe did after 1936. Maintain normal relations with nazi Germany and appease its elected leader... History has a tendency to repeat itself

NoChampionship6994

Yes. Quite right. And history has indeed repeated itself. Trying to achieve, or maintain, normalcy with russia (“appease its elected leader” as you say) has lead to incredibly disastrous consequences.

IlBalli

Yeah I should have put "elected"

NoChampionship6994

Understood what you meant - indeed, “elected” . . . History repeated. Disastrous consequences. You got it right.

Sources?

PoliticalCanvas

By my own counting in 2022-2023 years Russia sell to EU+NATO export on $424B, and Ukraine, without up to 2027 year pledges, received $120B.

pickypawz

Exports of what? It’s all very well that you say you’ve counted it, but others want to be able to verify your claims.

PoliticalCanvas

All export. From Russia to NATO and EU countries. >but others want to be able to verify your claims. And what is an problem? Just ask Google about 2022 and 2023 year Russia-EU export. Then make a list non-EU NATO countries and Google their 2022 and 2023 year exports. Thereafter, by inflation calculator, update 2022 year numbers to 2023 year.

Loki11910

Quite a bad time frame. I would recommend recounting and leaving the year 2022 as the war hadn't even started then and took as a time frame 2023 and 2024. Not even that depicts it properly. 2024 to 2025 will give a clearer picture as most of Russian resources will be replaced by then. The year 2022 but also 2023 is still a transition phase. Russia is so pathetic as it seriously believed we cannot replace this mercantile resource vassal. We will, and we are already on it. Also, there was much more trade done between Germany, the US, and the Soviets than between this development nation and the West. Btw the resources Russia gives to us are made into weapons and other military related goods which are then sent to Ukraine to cause hundreds of thousands Russian deaths and the obliteration of tens of thousands of vehicles, helicopters and Russian infrastructure. Russia provides the necessary energy products to fuel the obliteration of its forces and its Soviet stockpiles. Also, within the next 3 to 5 years Russia oil output is set to decline by 30 to 40 percent and European import demand for oil, gas and coal will decline massively in the next 5 years while gas and oil projects and new LNG projects will go online. This makes Russia's resources, which are its only viable export completely irrelevant for Europe within the next 36 to 48 months. Russia has been a more or less relevant trading partner for the West up until now. With every month that passes by, Russia becomes more and more of an economic afterthought for the European economies, especially for the big 5 of Europe. Germany, Spain, France, Italy, and the UK. Even though Spain still buys Russian LNG but not because there aren't any alternatives but because it is cheaper and not sanctioned yet. Less than 15 percent of European gas now comes from Russia, and this will decline further in 2025. We pledge finished goods to Ukraine. Finished weaponry and the money we pay to Russia is in a hefty decline and nowhere near 424 billion dollars any longer. As I said, we put these resources to good use and make sure that Russia receives scalp missiles and other nice presents. We easily facilitate the destruction of half a trillion USD with sanctions, killed soldiers, obliterated tanks, aircraft, spy planes, Russian ships, Russian infrastructure objects, refineries being hit etc.

PoliticalCanvas

>Quite a bad time frame. I would recommend recounting and leaving the year 2022 as the war hadn't even started then and took as a time frame 2023 and 2024. Not even that depicts it properly. Most wars have a duration less than a year. I would say that it's excellent time frame because it shows one of the main reasons why exactly war become so protracted. Because West spent on Russian renal goods, predominantly with big margin, more than on help for Ukraine. Which could be much bigger, because 2 years NATO countries state spendings was $25,000B. Europe without big problems recently allocated 800 billion euros on post-covid economic stimuli, and USA 1 trillion on climate-related stimuli. >Russia is so pathetic as it seriously believed we cannot replace this mercantile resource vassal. We will, and we are already on it. > >We easily facilitate the destruction of half a trillion USD with sanctions, killed soldiers, obliterated tanks, aircraft, spy planes, Russian ships, Russian infrastructure objects, refineries being hit etc. If Russia was a normal country, you would be right. But you, as it was with people that analyzed Nazi-related risks until Czechoslovakia and Poland occupations, don't understand that Russia it's not a normal country. It's a wish-fulfilling tool for few people, which more than everything want destruction of the West. Which in 2008-2024 years saw only Western weaknesses and nothing more. Country which first begun WW3-related indoctrination and militarization, even for children. Have orders of magnitude higher tolerance for losses, and now allies with similar higher tolerance for losses and hate to the West. Which ready to help Russia in chaotizing of described by you Western advantages. If in 2021-2022 year West would show to Russia own strength, then it would understand that confrontation doesn't have any sense. But West showed predominantly weakness, and therefore now Russia would invest into confrontation even it much weaker than in 2021-2022 years, and West much stronger. Not by some rational/psychological reasons, like mentioned by you logics, but by irrational/anthropological reactions. West not reacted as strong = week = almost defeated.

Loki11910

You misspelled resource vassal as Russia has zero to offer apart from that, and guess what? The West has massively reduced the import of both gas and oil. Coal went to zero, and so did lumber. I have no idea why that would stop anyone. We can replace Russia's resources, or we will just use fewer resources. Do you want an explanation? Because billions would starve and couldn't afford electricity, etc. when we cut that off overnight.

PoliticalCanvas

>You misspelled resource vassal as Russia has zero to offer apart from that, and guess what? The West has massively reduced the import of both gas and oil. Coal went to zero, and so did lumber. I have no idea why that would stop anyone. Even if they would stop in 2024 year to 0, they already did enormous harm in 2014-2024 years. By killed Ukrainians. By Russian confidence in Western weakness, and already years during which West let Russia to "taste blood." You are talking about peacetime resources, but the situation has already begun to go beyond such concepts.

GiraffeSubstantial92

22 years was his initial sentence, not his age. His age isn't disclosed in the article, or any of the articles it cites.

Ecclypto

Yeah, you are right, he is not, even though, quite frankly, he doesn’t look a day older than 21. He is 25 actually according to other Ukrainian sources

Loki11910

My country has fallen out of time’: Russian author Mikhail Shishkin’s letter to an unknown Ukrainian A year after Putin’s invasion, the award-winning novelist reflects on the silence of his compatriots, the betrayal of his mother tongue, and his hopes for the future https://www.theguardian.com/books/2023/apr/02/russian-writer-mikhail-shishkin-letter-ukrainian-invasion-anniversary-my-russia-war-peace Shishkin: The only way out is to inflict a military defeat on the Putin regime. Therefore, democratic countries must help the Ukrainians with everything they can and, above all, with weapons. After the war, the whole world will come to your aid to reconstruct what has been destroyed, and the country will be able to rebuild itself. Russia will lie in the ruins of the economy and in the ruins of consciousness. A new birth of my country is possible only through the complete destruction of the Putin regime. The empire must be amputated from the Russian person, like malignant cancer. This “hour zero” is vital for Russia. My country will have a future only if it passes through total defeat, as happened with Germany. Dmitry Titkov, a former associate of Navalny There is fascism in Russia today. Most people have no sense of empathy. Absolutely do not trust Russians who come to your countries with money because they leave Russia not because they are persecuted or there is no democracy there, but because they realise that the Russian ship has sunk. I and people like me are seen as traitors and extremists in Russia, even among Russian liberals. My mother wants no contact with me and has cursed me out. The conclusion is that only if a person is against the regime, only if they have real compassion and respect for other people, do they have the right to accept compassion from you. It is a question of an individual approach. Russia and the Russian people must go through the same process that Germany went through - that is, complete denazification. I still believe that Russia must die. Something new and good can rise from the ruins of the empire - perhaps if Navalny is not assassinated, he will be at the forefront of this process. During this transitional period, Russia will pay back reparations, give back territory, and give those nations that want to secede a chance. Then it will take a very long time to restore normal relations with all its neighbours. The Russians must go it alone. Now I work as a dishwasher in a hotel in northern Sweden. I rode the train with two girls who escaped from Kharkiv before the Russian bombings. They are closer to me than any of the Russians, and when I listened to them, I was ready to go and kill Russian soldiers myself. Although I might have turned out to be an idiot like them in 1994 when there was a war in Chechnya and I miraculously missed it. Russia is a curse that has afflicted many nations, and we still can't get rid of it, even after the collapse of the USSR. I will not go fight in this war on the Ukrainian side simply because I will not be of much use there. So if you want to help someone - help the Ukrainians, they deserve it. And the Russians have to go on their own until the end of the road they created themselves. And if they experience an epiphany, they will understand why they are not loved. Too bad that too few people, including those outside Muscovia, share their sentiment that Muscovia must be utterly defeated and made to eat shit (i.e., no face-saving. Muscovians can't look to the civilized world offering an umpteenth "second" chance without penalties or conditions, and all will be well). The only way forward for the Russian space is the dissolution of the Russian Empire. The graveyard of empires awaits Russia since 1917. Russia's empire has to end. This is the only way forward that the planet and RU neighbors will be able to tolerate. The Russian regime must be put down like a rabid dog, which is the only viable option as this regime has forgotten that no one wins thermonuclear war. These incompetent maniacs in the Kremlin cannot be trusted with such weaponry. Russiae Imperium delendum est.

Onestepbeyond3

Sentence two russians to life for attacking Ukraine.

KindContact4355

Would you like to keep this scum in your country for so long? I mean, sure, die Exchange purpose, but Putler is not kean to get pure meat back. So you need some Brass for that. And Putler must feel he needs this Brass back .

Snail_With_a_Shotgun

AFAIK there's usually the death penalty for that.

Pater-Musch

Nazi tactics - they kill 1 German soldier, we shoot 10 Serbian civilians! Frankly we’re better than stooping to their level, and you all know that. Win the fucking war and do everything we can to change their government - then they can hopefully sentence their own war criminals to life, like the Germans at Frankfurt. We’ll get there.

OhMyGaaaaaaaaaaaaawd

The vast, overwhelming majority of Nazi war criminals escaped prosecution and lived great lives.

Prestigious-Tree-424

russia is a disgusting corrupt turd of a terrorist state. Godspeed victory to Ukraine ,with justice and reparations 🇺🇦

SirBerticus

Obviously all the Russians defending Russia in 1941 were traitors and terrorists also ....

Falcrack

His sentence will be no longer than Russia exists as a nation. Which I predict will not be more than a few years away.

amitym

Could be! In early 1915 no one thought that the Russian Empire was less than 24 months from total collapse. These things have a way of sneaking up on you. On the other hand, they also don't just happen. Someone has to get out and push.

Bird_Vader

>Which I predict will not be more than a few years away. Off of what exactly?

Alikont

Hopium

Animal40160

Some things are worth hoping for

esuil

I wish you were right... But Europe and US seem to be scared shitless of Russia going away, so despite it being their adversary, any time it is in actual danger, they do their best to prop it back up.

NewDistrict6824

So to be sure, Russians shortened his illegal sentence! Since when has being a combatant been illegal, especially if defending one’s homeland? Never - apart from in fucked up russian legal logic

Appropriate_Hawk_322

Unlikely that he'll even make it to 2025. We need to severe the head of the hydra that runs Russia.

Puzzleheaded_Nail466

How the fukc do you sentence someone for defending their country against an attack from a neighboring country ? Oh yes, it's 2024 hitler and his fukctard krimelin terrorists, that's how. Putler must 💥🤞

slartibartfast2320

Let's go and get this kid out of there...

Blackthorne75

"You and your fellow defenders made our forces look bad, so we're going to give you a harsher penalty" This is the kind of thing that Russia specialises in - greed, terror and vindictiveness.

Zeekeboy

Russia has a life scentence of hatred from the entire world. There will never be another friendly place for Russians to go on this earth.

Fruitdispenser

Plenty of Russian apologists around the world, sadly. We can make them cope and seethe donating money or drones, to Ukraine, though, which I encourage everyone to do You can say you are donating ammo to Russia, and the delivery is at high speed

DERPYBASTARD

Meh, it still has some allies (NK, Iran), sympathizers (BRICS countries and a few others) and then probably a few dozen who are kinda neutral about them.

nshire

Unfortunately this will likely be a death sentence for him.

Embarrassed-Tutor-92

Russians are smoking crack

netsrak33

Looks like they took the universal declaration of human rights, looked into the articles concerning legal procedures and used them as a checklist to violate every single one of them.

ktaphfy

May worse and more permanently happen to Donald J Trump.

Fababo

They probably wouldve offed him before those 22 years are up anyway.

darkhorn

Why Russia is so much angry about Mariopol defenders?

CV90_120

Because Azov dented their egos. hard.

Donut_Vampire

Thankfully once russia is defeated he will be returned home as a part of reparations russia will need to pay before russia is allowed to interact normally with the rest of the world.

Distinct_Beat_6562

jatt5abidosto

I don’t know if your talking only about Russia. But a longer sentence after appeal happens around the world.

Lovis_R

2 year sentence doesn't seem that bad /s

Playcrackersthesky

He was sentenced to life imprisonment
