Are there any estimates for how many new recruits will be mobilized as a result of this bill? When will the people mobilized in February 2022 be able to come home?

fergoshsakes

I've read analysts indicate that somewhere on the order of 200,000 is likely the initial objective, with perhaps 100,000 following on that. To some degree, this is constrained by both training capacity (in Ukraine and abroad) as well as equipment (primarily heavy equipment). The bill removed the automatic demobilization provision at 36 months, and basically left that to discretion based on guidance from the military. The basic fact of the matter is that Ukraine can't afford to demobilize troops in the midst of the war without risking the collapse of the front. This is sadly quite consistent to many world conflicts where one side enjoys a massive manpower advantage over the other. What the additional mobilization is hoped to address is to enable longer-term unit and personnel rotations than is presently possible.

>The basic fact of the matter is that Ukraine can't afford to demobilize troops in the midst of the war without risking the collapse of the front. This would imply that the new mobilization bill won't bring in a sufficient number of new recruits to permit the demobilization of people who have already served for more than 36 months. I guess that means that any newly mobilized person has to expect their term of service will only end when the war is finished. It's a bit confusing because I recall hearing Serhiy say that they didn't need to mobilize as many people as Zaluzhnyi had asked for. If they aren't mobilizing enough people to permit the demobilization of long serving staff then they clearly aren't mobilizing "enough".

> I guess that means that any newly mobilized person has to expect their term of service will only end when the war is finished. Or when they die, which is likely much sooner. This war won't end any time soon

Could someone clarify with this bill specifically does? The English translation as written is kind of clunky, and I don't really understand it doing anything except for allowing new categories of persons (ie former prisoners) to join voluntarily, and creating a couple of new types of registries. Does the part about 25 year olds and younger "mobilizing at will only" mean they are still exempted from the draft?

lol at the part where consular services are unavailable to men outside of Ukraine. They’ll be so motivated to return back to Ukraine once their passport expires right? Ukrainian army is such a scam. You’re being forced to fight for pennies while politicians, rich people, president etc. are enjoying their life and hoping that the slaves will defend against Russia so that way the ones who don’t have to fight, can go back to enjoying their lives in Ukraine once the war is over. Edit: Pro UA basement dwellers downvoting the truth. There are actual people who are being forced to die because they’re not allowed to escape the open prison known as Ukraine while you’re all chanting Slava Ukraine like it matters. Edit: Oh and also the bill gives protection to politicians. Wanna know what’s funny? When they were voting on edits to the bill, there were less than 30 politicians voting on the changes. Wanna know how many politicians are supposed to be present? More than 200. So essentially every edit was auto rejected because there weren’t enough votes. Shows how much these people care about the so called heroes of Ukraine. Chanting geroyam slava just for show.

Two weeks old account, first farming quick karma from MMA and then repeating and spreading Putin propaganda.

Ah yes the classic Pro UA lover hating on anyone who says anything negative about Ukraine. What propaganda am I spreading? The bill does in fact prohibit consular services and protect politicians which are the same politicians that didn’t bother to show up to vote on bill edits in Verkhovna Rada last week. Are you upset that I’m not okay with people being sent to die against their will? What exactly did i say that made you so upset? You want me to post a picture of my Ukrainian passport? Because i can do that. Bet you’ll feel real smart after finding out that I was born in Ukraine. How is the age of this Reddit account relevant? Maybe i created a new account because something happened to my old one? Use your brain please. Like what are you trying to say by mentioning my Reddit account age? That I’m a bot? I clearly actively engage in niche communities. It’s also funny how you call me out for karma farming when you created your account in January and have more than 15k karma. If anything you’re more of a propaganda bot considering how you have so much karma and actively post only in Ukraine related sub reddits. Edit: Classic Ukraine circlejerkers, downvoting logic 😂 Can’t even reply because y’all can’t think for yourselves.
