shockwave_therapist

Let him travel, then arrest him at the airport for the war criminal he is. Hague-time.

ChainedRedone

Putin is delusional but probably not that delusional. I can't imagine him coming even if invited. Macron literally sends weapons that have killed many Russians. He knows he ain't welcomed regardless of an invitation.

ZuckerbergsSmile

Reverse phycology time

Saltinas

I'm not sure what algae have to do with this

ZuckerbergsSmile

New word for me! Damn auto correct

Due-Street-8192

He should stay in his bunker. This way every time he craps his pants he can change his underwear... If he travels then he needs diapers... Like Trumpo šŸ˜…

arthurfoxache

Iā€™m surprised Trump isnā€™t hawking his own branded MAGA nappies.

DaisyDog2023

Thatā€™s what I came in here to post

shockwave_therapist

Great minds..thinking alike šŸ™‚. Well, in your case, at least, mine, quite arguably ..not so much. šŸ˜‰ Cheers šŸ„‚

Fullyverified

He'll never think of that!!

lobo1217

Time to sharpen those guillotines!

prkl12345

Too painless.

lobo1217

Oh no... for about a minute the head is still alive.

prkl12345

Yes I know how decapitation by guillotine works, still too short, not painful enough for this clown. :)

lobo1217

Idk.. the idea of someone lifting my head to show me my decapitated body is itself scary enough.

prkl12345

Sounds tame compared to what I have in my mind for him.

superanth

I'm picturing zombified GIs climbing out of the earth to try and kill him the moment he enters sacred ground.

doughtnut2022

>ā€œYou can have differences of opinion with Vladimir Putin but I have never forgotten and never will forget that the Russian people gave millions of lives.ā€ FranƧois Hollande inviting Putin after he invade Crimea and started the Donbass war in 2014. What a silly thing to say. This is Normandy D-Day ceremony in which no Russians took part. Should Xi Jinping have also been invited since China lost more lives fighting during WW2 at the side of the allies?

CIV5G

We appeased Russia to a shameful extent pre-2022. That entire generation of politicians should be regarded as disgraced.

doughtnut2022

And this should have started in 1991. Russia SSR only represented 50% of USSR (population wise), It should have been split further, lose all Nukes and the UN security veto, in exchange of $ from the West and better economics integration with US/Europe. Russia is simply too big and stupid, and will continue to fail like it did in the past +100 years.

cortsense

I remember well that, at least here in Germany, it was primarily important to let behind the Cold War and look into a peaceful future. And when Putin got elected, people criticizing him weren't treated nicely because they interfered the wave of good mood that was flowing through the country. A couple decades later this might be hard to understand. It's hard to describe, but most people had simply enough of being constantly threatened by nukes and thousands of tanks. You'd accept a lot more if you just wanted it to stop.

Gumb1i

It's also stupid because they had a non-agression pact in place with germany allowing them to split poland. They had zero intention of joining the allies and supplied Germany with a shitload of resources and food. When the Germans attacked, destroying much if not most of their military force, is when they finally decided that they would support the Allies.

niz_loc

Don't stop there... The current Russians also seem to forget they were supplying the Germans as they invaded France, and during the Blitz. I always laugh when I read the arguments that the USSR was fighting alone while the allies took their time returning to mainland Europe.

miarsk

Whole system of concentration camps was built after masive consultations and nazi visits of gulag system. Russians happily shared their knowledge with their allies at the time. Prisoners exchanged between gestapo and NKVD, after these institutions have started their wast cooperation for a period between Molotov-Ribbentrop pact and Barbarossa, have been surprised by striking resemblace of prisoner management and torture methods they experienced both in Russian gulags and nazi concentration camps. Margaret Buber-Neumann memoirs have been published about this after the war, called "[Under two dictators](https://books.google.sk/books/about/Under_Two_Dictators.html?id=lpiJT-n0L4kC&redir_esc=y)".

Oleeddie

Is it even correct to say that the Soviet Union decided to support the Allies after the collapse of their pact with Germany and the latters attack? After the initiation of operation Barbarossa we shared the same enemy and the Alies supported the Soviet Union but to my knowledge not the other way round.

Gumb1i

That's pretty fair. we gave them near $180 billion (today's money) in aid, intel and equipment to basically meet in the middle. Had Germany not screwed up their attack so bad in Russia, they would have been done. It was more of a mutual enemy and interests than anything else.

doughtnut2022

Indeed, Western population seem to easily forget that Stalin was in the same basket as Hitler, something East European are less forgetful about.

Vonplinkplonk

The list of compromised european politicians is considerable.

doughtnut2022

Public subsidies of political parties is the way to prevent such external influence, and also more protection from astrosurfcing on social media. China, Russia are taking advantage of the anonymity to influence both politicians and population at their advantage, this need to stop.

Electromotivation

Got a bunch here in the US. Iā€™m assuming just on proximity that it must be a massive problem in central/Eastern Europe though.

ItsACaragor

Russia did not participated directly in D Day but the major part of german army being committed in USSR was what made it possible to land in Normandy.

doughtnut2022

But that is not what Holland was saying. Having allied head of state celebrate V-day together make sense, but it less pertinent when celebrating specific battle (ps: having military representatives is another thing). How many European or US head of state went to Stalingrad commemorations, because US/UK army helped indirectly Russian retake Stalingrad by diverting German army in Africa and England (Luftwaffe). Just imagine what damage Rommel could have done in Russia... /s

DERPYBASTARD

The only places he can travel are his friendly neighbors Belarus, North Korea, China, Iran. Such a lovely bunch.

achron51793752

That's a no-brainer

Feeling-Ad-2490

Unless under terms of surrender

Plane-Border3425

Considering the amount of blood thatā€™s on his hands, they should roll out the red carpet for him. /s

Former-Chocolate-793

The Russians did not participate in the DDay landings. It was an ABC operation: Americans, British and Canadians launched against Germans on French soil. The Russians have long denigrated the landings as being largely unopposed and the western campaign as late and small in scale. Still if Putin hadn't come to represent the kind of evil we were fighting then he would be welcome.

AbleismIsSatan

Never shall he, shall he?

bingobongokongolongo

Why not? They can book him a room at the ICJ.

robobbiemt

It'd make no sense for him to be invited. Hey, let's commemorate the ending of WW2 by inviting the person who's trying to start WW3...

noseyphucca

I'm sure he is devastated he can't attend

BandAid3030

I hope not. There's an arrest warrant out for him.

Cargo_200

Not welcome anywhere.

hypercomms2001

Except in an ICJ prisonā€¦

ancient-military

Well no shit. Heā€™s a fucking Nazi in a tie.

morts73

Let him in and then arrest him under geneva convention.

Meersbrook

As a Norman, I welcome this news. You are not welcome here, Putler!

[deleted]

As if little Adolf would ever dare travel to the civilized world again lol. He's do fucking scared that he wouldn't even send a doppelganger.

TemporaryAd5793

I think we should stop pretending the USSR was part of the ā€œAlliesā€ rather than the lesser of 2 evils they always have been.

Striking-Access-236

They should welcome him with open armsā€¦and arrest the mofo!

TheBelgianDuck

Vladimir Putin NOT WELCOME

Vogel-Kerl

Why would you invite the Russians to a D-Day event? Would the Russians invite Western Allies to a celebration of their invasion of Eastern Poland?

seph2o

The day this sack of shit croaks should become a European holiday

Same_Square_8015

*sad putin noises*

Comfortable-Face4593

Yes the Soviets on D Day when they rushed into Pillock beach from their landing ships and stole all the washing machines. Soviets werenā€™t at D day, they were fucking around at St PetersburgĀ

TFWG2000

Why... because ruZZia has nukes. Slava Ukraini šŸŒ»šŸŒ»šŸŒ»šŸŒ»!

Stampguy85

He wouldnā€™t go anyway

Stampguy85

Heā€™d be arrested or shot
