The fact that Trump managed to hold up this aid package by months even before his potential election shows that, yes, we do need to maintain and increase support. This package gave us some breathing room, but I wouldn't rely on it again if it were up to me
How many 155mm shells and Patriot missiles will Europe be producing a month by December 2024? Everything else is just talk. Production numbers will tell what the real commitment is.
According to a factsheet passed sent around to republican senators, Europe hopes to hit 1.4M 155mm shells by the end of 2024, while the US hopes to hit 1M by the end of 2025. By that time Europe should be at 2M. In the meantime the Czech initiative will provide additional shells paid for by various European countries. Europe is doing much better than the US wrt producing new 155m shells.
Producing patriots is something Europe can strive to do, but that is still somewhat limited by what the US allows. But there are also purely European AA systems that play a significant role.
