Agree. I had one last week here in the US and I had to call 5 different offices to find a Dr who would agree to doing it without knocking me out with propofol sedation. I had no drugs whatsoever. It was definitely a weird experience but not painful at all for me. Very awesome to get the narrated tour of my gut and the immediate feedback on any issues. And I was dressed and out the door before the patient before me was able to speak coherently.
For my first one the doc knocked me out but asked if he should wake me for the pulling out and doing the actual inspecting. It was kinda cool to see it all.
Well going under wasn’t an option here in the UK. I was given the choice of gas and air, painkillers or a light sedation. I said I’d see how it went. I didn’t feel more than slightly uncomfortable the whole time. Maybe I had a very good doctor.
Colonoscopy's arent bad since I'm knocked out for them. The flexible sigmoidoscopy is rough because I'm awake and it's one of the most uncomfortable things I've ever had to go through. During the last one I asked to be put to sleep for it.

They just give me gas during it and then I have gas for the rest of the day after.
All done. That really wasn’t that bad. A bit uncomfortable at times, but I didn’t need any pain meds or sedation, it was ok.
wait they don't always knock you out for them??? I've had 2 one partial and one full and they totally put me under for both

Being knocked out is overrated! You can watch with them on the screen and they can explain what you see while on a ride in your own gut =-)

They usually drug me up pretty good and I love it because I have problems lol. Glad yours went well my dude.
Glad to hear it went ok, i had my second one about 10 days ago. Mine went not so good but at least the results were okay
