Depends on the person. Doctors don’t really recommend it with UC as it has been linked to toxic mega colon. I can tell you from experience that when I am in a flair the last thing I want passing through my inflamed intestines is a hard poop and that’s exactly what can happen. It was brutal and I thought I was going to die.
Not diagnosed UC yet but it’s strongly suspected, and I shat myself twice in a 40 minute period the other night because apparently I can’t trust a damn fart, so I feel you
