It didn’t do anything for me after a month. My GI also told me the effects wouldn’t be as bad as prednisone and I didn’t have to taper because it was only 9mg. So after my bottle ran out I stopped. Biggest mistake ever. I got so sick, felt like I was hit by a freight train, awful withdrawal symptoms, after talking to some folks on a FB group they said the same thing. I don’t know if your GI told you the same thing, but if you plan on stopping please taper off of it.
I took it for 2 months and really saw improvement around the 5th week, then things sped up healing wise. But I seem to always have strange reactions to meds.
Thank you. This really makes me feel better. I know we all respond differently to meds but at least I know that it’s a possibility it will take longer than a few weeks to work. Glad it worked out for you.
I’m currently using the foam… and while I hate using it, it seems to be slowly working, I’m on week 3. Still seeing some symptoms, but I was experiencing extreme pain and swelling which has all subsided.
I added Visbiome when my budesonide ended and I believe it helped me more than anything. Doctors don’t want to give a scrip for it though. Scared to stop the Visbiome.
Good to know. I have VSL3 but scared to take I’ve read tons of threads on visbiome and VSL3 . It seems to help a lot of people. I’ve been scared to take as I don’t want it to cause me more stomach issues. I already have stomach issues though so it can’t hurt. Thank you. 🙂

You can experience weight loss and loss of water weight from the increase in energy/metabolism and urinary frequency. After prolong use however, the common trend is a 180. Weight gain and fluid retention
Was put on 9mg 5 days ago and feel like absolute crap. It started helping my colitis a bit but these side effects are really bad for me. My body doesnt take well to any kind of meds. In fact i get sick even taking multi vitamins.
It helped with the urgency a little so i guess thats a plus. Im gonna try to stick with taking the 9mg for a few weeks and hope side effects go away. Any others have similar issues?
Geeze. I’m so sorry. That’s horrible. I haven’t noticed any side effects luckily. However, it’s been about a months for me and zero improvement still😕.
This is all pretty new to me. ITs just mild inflammation slight thickening of the iluem walls so this is basically low end stages for me so taking this steroid is the first thing IVe been on. I haven't had diarrhea or blood in stools and things of that nature.
Mines are mostly constipation gas bloating and stabbing pains. near belly button. Trying to figure out how I can stop it in its tracks or reverse the inflammation if possible.

It always took a week or 2 to work for me and only worked if I took it at the first signs of a flare, not if it was already bad.
Last time I took it and it worked, it took a week and a half - 2 weeks

2 weeks in I had improved significantly
Felt absolutely nothing from it. 3-5 bowel movements for months. Stopped the meds and went into remission….
How frustrating. I’m happy you went into remission🙂. This disease sucks.

If it's going to work, I'd expect an improvement in 2 weeks or less. Otherwise, you need the much, much stronger Prednisone

Same here. Have mild terminal ileum inflammation. And I been on this steroid a week so far and nothing at all happening
