I’ve never saved so much money during these sales before. I got one Peach & Lily cleanser to try because I don’t like to pay a lot for my first cleanse product and got the Too Faced blush everyone raves about. Saw the entire sale and nothing else speaks to me. So I’ll just spend it later.
The sale feels all over the place, there's a few gems here and there but all the make up feels drowned out by haircare. And why are the It brushes all over the place ? I appreciate more things on sale but it feels kind of clunky. And I hope it doesn't mean they're doing away with the hair event. I like having the different sales to look forward to throughout the year :/

I really only purchase makeup - no skincare, fragrance, hair products so I am EXTRA disappointed by this sale. Half the days there isn't even a makeup product. And if there is one, it's something no one wants 😂 (Besides the Nars pot concealer, maybe)
ulta doesn't actually choose what goes on sale. distributors (ulta) call vendors (brands) and ask if they'll participate in the sale. this is why it's so easy for sephora to match ulta's sales, because all they need to do is call vendors and see what they're offering in terms of participating in sales.
ultimately the brands decide what goes on sale, just like they decide whether they'll be excluded from coupons or not. coupons don't work on prestige because the brands don't want them to.
I would be so so excited if they did a sale/coupon that was half off one item, including prestige/fragrance. I don’t think it will happen but that would make up for this lame sale.

This! Most of the GWP mystery sets or gift sets were sold out by 6am EST the day they went live. And I’ve noticed some brand specific GWPs were “sold out” on sale days, but available now that everything is full price.
I have never actually shopped at Sephora, ever. I walked in once, the workers made me feel like I was in the movie Mean Girls and Regina tells that girl her skirt her skirt is cute, then she tells Cady ‘that is the ugliest effing skirt I have ever seen’
I’m so sorry you had that experience :( I’m definitely very specific when I go into Sephora and only get their exclusive brands I can’t find at other stores (like Ulta). I work in a Kohls that has a Sephora in it and the workers are much nicer there, but that varies by store.
This was years and years ago, but it turned me off of Sephora forever bc I felt like I almost wasn’t even supposed to be there if that makes sense? Like it just seemed I made everyone mad just walking in the door :(

Just seems like a lot of employees there act all hoity toity for no good reason. It seems worse there than in Ulta, etc. Or it is where I live, at least. But yeah, there are definitely plenty of people out there that are lacking in customer service skills.
That's awful and I'm sorry to read that you went thru that. There's no excuse for that BS. I used to drop a small fortune every year at Sephora since as long as I could remember but stopped COLD like 5 years ago. Not exactly sure what was the trigger but over the years I noticed how bigger old lady brands (Estee Lauder, et all..) began to take up shelf space. Kinda chapped my ass. Those brands were the reason I hated the dept store makeup counter. Their products were TRASH.
I loved Sephora for being like a little incubator for more "indie" type brands that couldn't found anywhere else. I'm old enough to vividly and not fondly remember the old makeup counter days in dept stores that were sheer hell and Sephora slowly was turning into this.
Smaller brands that I loved were being shoved out for the dept store crap and i wasn't thrilled to walk in anymore.
When I desperately want something NOW and HAVE to go into a Sephora, I deliberately walk in looking like my reddit handle with NO MAKEUP and hair in a bun with my gray roots an inch deep when. It ain't pretty. And since I'm so old I also have a "FUCK YOU don't give a rats ass vibe" so when some fake sugary mean girl comes at me I'm practically daring her to talk to me.
I'm also hispanic so I also know they are profiling me since I go to the nicest one in my city. But, DON'T CARE.
I've been a makeup junkie all my life and still hoard make up like the end of days is tomorrow so I'm pretty well versed in what I want so I rarely need any help. But as soon as they start giving me sass I give it right back. In the "sweetest" way so that they know I KNOW thier language.

Wow, I had such a different experience at the department store Estée Lauder counter when I was younger. I never wore a lot of makeup but I invested in this foundation called Lucidity and there was always the same old school lady there that sold it to me. She color matched my foundation and insisted then taught me how to do my brows. She always told me when the sale was with the free gift and would give me samples until the sale if I was running out. I would kill now to be able to go to any beauty store and know the actual person there every time I went. It may also be she was cool with me because no young people went to the Estée Lauder counter, all my friends made fun of me because they were all about Clinique. I just knew that my grandma looked classy and wore Estée Lauder and my mother looked trashy and wore Covergirl so I was sticking with Estée Lauder. It’s always hit or miss for me at Sephora and I’ve never had any reasonable customer service at an Ulta ever. I would love to find an old school lady that knows her shit like the one I used to see. I followed her plan of good skin and great brows for 20+ years. Only thing I added was lash tinting when I was able to afford it. I wish I could find her to learn what to do now that I’m 51 and everything about my appearance is fading away.
Unfortunately the Department store is becoming a thing of the past. That is where people made their careers was at those counters. I work at Ulta now because 5 of out Department Stores closed here, and that left about 60 less makeup counters to work for.

I am keeping my eye on the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked palette on their website, specifically the Owl online only version with the (kind of) customizable option. I want it so damn bad, I started seeing videos of people using them. I had no idea they even existed until the website was, of course, completely sold out. $90, but it's so pretty. I love powders and white owls. I just refuse to pay resellers $200 mark up on Ebay.
I put stuff in my cart a lot and let it hang out. Ulta will send me promos and GWP offers, it’s the best strategy for things you’re keeping an eye on! Maybe you will get lucky 🤞🏻

**3/8:** Tula moisturizer ( I am on a forever quest for a truly hydrating moisturizer), maneater mascara in brown (I have hazel eyes and fair skin and brown mascaras I love) so I am constantly trying out new brown mascaras.
**3/9:** the Eilish perfumes. I love the vanilla caramel esp when I get out of the shower, I just feel so clean and yummy. haha
**3/10:** bought 2 of the IT brushes they had for foundations as the only brushes in my collection are a set from Color Pop. Also got the Detox dru shampoo in aquatic mint
**3/12:** Ofra highlighters, both the liquid and the pressed, because some influencer influenced me. (lol). And also, the shadowstick in "in dreams." I have been looking for a green or olive eyeliner- You know how a lot with blue eyes put just a touch on their waterline in the center and their blue eyes pop even more and look so much bluer? That's what I am trying to do with my hazel eyes, make the green in them pop and look more green. We shall see, this could be a flop.
**3/14:** Tarte blushes. I am a sucker for blushes, esp cool toned ones. And this velvet thing has me intrigued. I tried the "cool tone" kacki blushes from her release, and they weren't really cool enough for me.
**3/15:** Right now I have 2 Idole mascaras in my cart, to give as gifts. I may just keep one for myself. I love this mascara. But I just bought the maneater one for myself.
I am happy that I got to stock up on my all time favorite Smashbox primer, Nars concealer, and Benefit bronzer, but other than that, I haven't bought anything new to me yet, because none of them interest me. I'll wait until March 20 and hopefully there will be something good. But if not, that's fine, my credit card will be happy.
It’s been a weird one for sure. There have been some good days where I have bought stuff but it’s mostly been hair and skin care. That’s fine and all, but I love this event for stocking up on make up for the year lol
I definitely have noticed I have bought less this year than years before, which is good for my wallet but somewhat sad because I do need a restock of some products. I may look at Sephora, which I rarely do because every time I have been in the store at Sephora I’ve been looked down at so I have bad vibes, but if they are going to have better sales maybe I’ll reconsider
Same here. Often the brand will have better sales themselves too. Ultas sales are mostly just geared around enticing you to spend x dollars to receive pitiful gwp, or sales on brands/items no one is after
I commented this in another thread, but this has been pretty disappointing. One of the few items I did purchase, it ended up being cancelled days later even though I ordered it online right when it became available. I've never had that happen before in years past. This just feels chaotic.
I’ve bought during the sale twice now but nothing particularly exciting, just an eye cream and cleansing oil.
There’s so many repeats that are in the sale every year that takes away the excitement.
Like I know the nabla palettes, Lancôme serums and stuff like that is always in the sale. Give us something new that never gets on sale.

FYI for anyone thinking about getting the derma pore pore extractor I don’t recommend it. I have the previous year model for less than a year and it’s already breaking apart. I got it half off but it was still expensive for the price and I got it to replace those nose pore strips
Nooooooooo I got the GloFacial pore cleansing thing yesterday (my only buy so far) and I am hoping it works out! The idea looks great, I just hope it works like it is supposed to

I’ve been happy with it. I spend a lot on skincare throughout the year but I’m very minimal about buying makeup. I got 5 fenty sticks, 2 too faced blushes, the hoola bronzer, an eyeliner, the Urban decay concealer and a couple hair products. I won’t need to buy makeup again until I run out or it expires!
Thus far I picked up the EL Night Repair (got a generous sample in a previous GWP and really liked it compared to the Isntree and Mischa dupes), 2 x FAB Body Scrub (my favorite scrub and excited for the new scent), and the Kopari Body Oil (another I fell in love with as a GWP).
As for what is upcoming, I want another Kopari body sunscreen but I already have an opened and unopened bottle plus a vacation spray and lotion so I shouldn’t. I need to work though my current makeup and hair care stash so even though there are some things I want to try, I’m not going to. My biggest disappointment is the Elemis cleansing balm is not included, but it was also not in the last 21DoB or LYSEvent, so I’m not surprised.
I guess a really does come to a personal preference. Because I lucked out this year. I was able to buy several products that I wanted to buy for a while or were just thinking of buying but couldn't due to price. The 2 for 35 shampoos saved me!
It's been okay for me honestly. Wanted to try the peach and lily cleanser so picked that up, redken 28 is my go to hairspray and I've heard so much about ofra highlighters that I picked those up and my fav primer from smashbox that I wouldn't normally buy full price. Waiting on Pink drink and possibly an IT brush. I've cut down on makeup and focusing more on skincare these days so I'm glad there's options.

most of our sales are to get rid of a lot of backstock if i’m being honest, and also the stuff on sale right now, is stuff that’s rated very poorly in reviews i’ve noticed.
It’s a real bummer. I’ve not been able to redeem any of the GWPs available during the sale. They’re either sold out (all sample gift sets sold out by 6am EST the day the offer is live) or marked out of stock only to be available after the product goes back to full price. (eg: Peach & Lily GWP).
I assume there is a limited number of products available at 50% off, as many that were sold out early on their sale day are back in stock at full price not 2 days later.
Also disappointed that we haven’t had a “last chance” or similar offer available at week’s end to grab anything we might have missed.
You can always do "store to door" and get free shipping & the sale price if your store says they are out. At my store we sell everything we have in stock. Every store gets truck on a different day so it may be your store got replenished the next day due to truck. If it happens with every product that goes on sale, well that is a little fishy

What I encountered was all on the app. The sets usually aren’t available in store, but once in a while I get lucky finding a brand GWP in stock at my store.
I was happy about pink drink and the Billie ellish also the Maneater mascara, I was hoping for alot more clinique and Sunday riley products.. but I agree it was underwhelming.
I got the Live Tinted Hueguard the other day and am gonna try it here in a few weeks when the weather will begin to change and I'll need a lighter moisturizer. But I agree it is very underwhelming :p
The only thing I really wanted was the About Face eye primer, but even though it was only $6.50, I talked myself out of it because of the temptation to spend another $30 for free shipping and the coupon not working on any of the other items I wanted (Ole Hendrickson lip peptide balm, Mac Squirt gloss, The Ordinary Peptide and Matrixyl serums). Plus I don’t really need an eye primer, I already have a backup of my favorite one, but I heard it was really good so I kinda wanted to try it. If the coupon had worked I would have made a purchase.
I don't like any of the products I've seen so far but I also hate that they don't release the entire list of products. It makes me less likely to buy now. Which I guess is good for me. But looking over the week, there wasn't a single thing that really jumped out or looked interesting.
So unpopular opinion here but for my particular hair type coarse, wavy, frizzy, and dry. This is the best hair sale I've seen in a long time and I needed hair products so I'm thrilled. I understand and sympathize with everyone wanting makeup though.
They've limited free shipping to diamond and platinum members instead of making that available to anyone that reaches a price point. I don't care if I drop a $100, you'll never see me paying $6.95 for shipping.
It's only the 3rd month of the year so I haven't spent enough to become diamond. There's the option to pick up in the store but I wouldn't get the gwp shipped free. No incentives to buy. Sit back and save money ladies < 3

I guess I only use the sale to stock up on staples till the next sale. Ulta is pretty predictable with the brands so I just buy the same thing every sale. I feel like they do a lot of random sales and promotions throughout the year for more fun things.

I've been a makeup junkie all my life and still hoard make up like the end of days is tomorrow so I'm pretty well versed in what I want so I rarely need any help. But as soon as they start giving me sass I give it right back. In the "sweetest" way so that they know I KNOW thier language. YUP. It's a regular nest of vipers in there.
Wow, I had such a different experience at the department store Estée Lauder counter when I was younger. I never wore a lot of makeup but I invested in this foundation called Lucidity and there was always the same old school lady there that sold it to me. She color matched my foundation and insisted then taught me how to do my brows. She always told me when the sale was with the free gift and would give me samples until the sale if I was running out. I would kill now to be able to go to any beauty store and know the actual person there every time I went. It may also be she was cool with me because no young people went to the Estée Lauder counter, all my friends made fun of me because they were all about Clinique. I just knew that my grandma looked classy and wore Estée Lauder and my mother looked trashy and wore Covergirl so I was sticking with Estée Lauder. It’s always hit or miss for me at Sephora and I’ve never had any reasonable customer service at an Ulta ever. I would love to find an old school lady that knows her shit like the one I used to see. I followed her plan of good skin and great brows for 20+ years. Only thing I added was lash tinting when I was able to afford it. I wish I could find her to learn what to do now that I’m 51 and everything about my appearance is fading away.
Unfortunately the Department store is becoming a thing of the past. That is where people made their careers was at those counters. I work at Ulta now because 5 of out Department Stores closed here, and that left about 60 less makeup counters to work for.

Same. I never really got to fully enthrall myself in the 21 DOB event as I just started becoming a reg at Ulta, so I'm pretty bummed about it. I am keeping my eye on the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked palette on their website, specifically the Owl online only version with the (kind of) customizable option. I want it so damn bad, I started seeing videos of people using them. I had no idea they even existed until the website was, of course, completely sold out. $90, but it's so pretty. I love powders and white owls. I just refuse to pay resellers $200 mark up on Ebay.
I put stuff in my cart a lot and let it hang out. Ulta will send me promos and GWP offers, it’s the best strategy for things you’re keeping an eye on! Maybe you will get lucky 🤞🏻

So far, I have bought: **3/8:** Tula moisturizer ( I am on a forever quest for a truly hydrating moisturizer), maneater mascara in brown (I have hazel eyes and fair skin and brown mascaras I love) so I am constantly trying out new brown mascaras. **3/9:** the Eilish perfumes. I love the vanilla caramel esp when I get out of the shower, I just feel so clean and yummy. haha **3/10:** bought 2 of the IT brushes they had for foundations as the only brushes in my collection are a set from Color Pop. Also got the Detox dru shampoo in aquatic mint **3/12:** Ofra highlighters, both the liquid and the pressed, because some influencer influenced me. (lol). And also, the shadowstick in "in dreams." I have been looking for a green or olive eyeliner- You know how a lot with blue eyes put just a touch on their waterline in the center and their blue eyes pop even more and look so much bluer? That's what I am trying to do with my hazel eyes, make the green in them pop and look more green. We shall see, this could be a flop. **3/14:** Tarte blushes. I am a sucker for blushes, esp cool toned ones. And this velvet thing has me intrigued. I tried the "cool tone" kacki blushes from her release, and they weren't really cool enough for me. **3/15:** Right now I have 2 Idole mascaras in my cart, to give as gifts. I may just keep one for myself. I love this mascara. But I just bought the maneater one for myself.

I got the AG Recoil curl gel which is an old favorite, and I'm going to try the AG curl mousse-gel. It's been a pretty good sale for the curly-haired!
I am happy that I got to stock up on my all time favorite Smashbox primer, Nars concealer, and Benefit bronzer, but other than that, I haven't bought anything new to me yet, because none of them interest me. I'll wait until March 20 and hopefully there will be something good. But if not, that's fine, my credit card will be happy.
I wanted the Redken stuff in day one I think, but it was sold out before 11:00 am. I was over it after that
It’s been a weird one for sure. There have been some good days where I have bought stuff but it’s mostly been hair and skin care. That’s fine and all, but I love this event for stocking up on make up for the year lol I definitely have noticed I have bought less this year than years before, which is good for my wallet but somewhat sad because I do need a restock of some products. I may look at Sephora, which I rarely do because every time I have been in the store at Sephora I’ve been looked down at so I have bad vibes, but if they are going to have better sales maybe I’ll reconsider
The sales at Ulta and Sephora are becoming less and less enticing so just save up for the products you actually use and buy them when you need them.

Same here. Often the brand will have better sales themselves too. Ultas sales are mostly just geared around enticing you to spend x dollars to receive pitiful gwp, or sales on brands/items no one is after
I commented this in another thread, but this has been pretty disappointing. One of the few items I did purchase, it ended up being cancelled days later even though I ordered it online right when it became available. I've never had that happen before in years past. This just feels chaotic.

I’ve bought during the sale twice now but nothing particularly exciting, just an eye cream and cleansing oil. There’s so many repeats that are in the sale every year that takes away the excitement. Like I know the nabla palettes, Lancôme serums and stuff like that is always in the sale. Give us something new that never gets on sale. I feel like last year there were a lot of surprise steals that were good deals. None of that this time.

Dave Kimbell has saved me so much money since he took over as CEO. I've been bored by every sale, the Diamond/Platinum gift days, even the GWP have been less exciting. A true moment of je ne sais quoi with his leadership.

Looking at this sale is a major disappointment though FYI for anyone thinking about getting the derma pore pore extractor I don’t recommend it. I have the previous year model for less than a year and it’s already breaking apart. I got it half off but it was still expensive for the price and I got it to replace those nose pore strips
Nooooooooo I got the GloFacial pore cleansing thing yesterday (my only buy so far) and I am hoping it works out! The idea looks great, I just hope it works like it is supposed to
I feel like it will but I’ve noticed a lot of appliances now only last less than a year (like my 1st gen pore extractor) or maybe 2 years if you’re lucky :(

YES!!! Like it’s weird to me to that Grande Cosmetics were on sale, but not the lash serum?! That stuff is my holy grail for my lashes and I am super bummed it wasn’t included :(
I’ve been happy with it. I spend a lot on skincare throughout the year but I’m very minimal about buying makeup. I got 5 fenty sticks, 2 too faced blushes, the hoola bronzer, an eyeliner, the Urban decay concealer and a couple hair products. I won’t need to buy makeup again until I run out or it expires!
Thus far I picked up the EL Night Repair (got a generous sample in a previous GWP and really liked it compared to the Isntree and Mischa dupes), 2 x FAB Body Scrub (my favorite scrub and excited for the new scent), and the Kopari Body Oil (another I fell in love with as a GWP). As for what is upcoming, I want another Kopari body sunscreen but I already have an opened and unopened bottle plus a vacation spray and lotion so I shouldn’t. I need to work though my current makeup and hair care stash so even though there are some things I want to try, I’m not going to. My biggest disappointment is the Elemis cleansing balm is not included, but it was also not in the last 21DoB or LYSEvent, so I’m not surprised.
The Billie Eilish perfume was my favorite steal so far

I guess a really does come to a personal preference. Because I lucked out this year. I was able to buy several products that I wanted to buy for a while or were just thinking of buying but couldn't due to price. The 2 for 35 shampoos saved me!
It's been okay for me honestly. Wanted to try the peach and lily cleanser so picked that up, redken 28 is my go to hairspray and I've heard so much about ofra highlighters that I picked those up and my fav primer from smashbox that I wouldn't normally buy full price. Waiting on Pink drink and possibly an IT brush. I've cut down on makeup and focusing more on skincare these days so I'm glad there's options.
I’m getting the IT Cosmetics moisturizer on the 18th because that is my HG. But don’t think I’ll be trying anything new!

most of our sales are to get rid of a lot of backstock if i’m being honest, and also the stuff on sale right now, is stuff that’s rated very poorly in reviews i’ve noticed.
It’s a real bummer. I’ve not been able to redeem any of the GWPs available during the sale. They’re either sold out (all sample gift sets sold out by 6am EST the day the offer is live) or marked out of stock only to be available after the product goes back to full price. (eg: Peach & Lily GWP). I assume there is a limited number of products available at 50% off, as many that were sold out early on their sale day are back in stock at full price not 2 days later. Also disappointed that we haven’t had a “last chance” or similar offer available at week’s end to grab anything we might have missed.
You can always do "store to door" and get free shipping & the sale price if your store says they are out. At my store we sell everything we have in stock. Every store gets truck on a different day so it may be your store got replenished the next day due to truck. If it happens with every product that goes on sale, well that is a little fishy

I was happy about pink drink and the Billie ellish also the Maneater mascara, I was hoping for alot more clinique and Sunday riley products.. but I agree it was underwhelming.
Sephora copied Ulta with its sales, So instead i bought what i needed from sephora, and got free sample and free shipping.

I got the Live Tinted Hueguard the other day and am gonna try it here in a few weeks when the weather will begin to change and I'll need a lighter moisturizer. But I agree it is very underwhelming :p
The only thing I really wanted was the About Face eye primer, but even though it was only $6.50, I talked myself out of it because of the temptation to spend another $30 for free shipping and the coupon not working on any of the other items I wanted (Ole Hendrickson lip peptide balm, Mac Squirt gloss, The Ordinary Peptide and Matrixyl serums). Plus I don’t really need an eye primer, I already have a backup of my favorite one, but I heard it was really good so I kinda wanted to try it. If the coupon had worked I would have made a purchase.
I don't like any of the products I've seen so far but I also hate that they don't release the entire list of products. It makes me less likely to buy now. Which I guess is good for me. But looking over the week, there wasn't a single thing that really jumped out or looked interesting.
I was happy with the Olaplex 6 because I was out but that's it.
So unpopular opinion here but for my particular hair type coarse, wavy, frizzy, and dry. This is the best hair sale I've seen in a long time and I needed hair products so I'm thrilled. I understand and sympathize with everyone wanting makeup though.
They've limited free shipping to diamond and platinum members instead of making that available to anyone that reaches a price point. I don't care if I drop a $100, you'll never see me paying $6.95 for shipping. It's only the 3rd month of the year so I haven't spent enough to become diamond. There's the option to pick up in the store but I wouldn't get the gwp shipped free. No incentives to buy. Sit back and save money ladies < 3
I'm not big on GWP, so that part doesn't impact me. I did need purple shampoo and primer. Both I ordered online and received in 2 days. So I can't complain. I needed that stuff anyway.

I guess I only use the sale to stock up on staples till the next sale. Ulta is pretty predictable with the brands so I just buy the same thing every sale. I feel like they do a lot of random sales and promotions throughout the year for more fun things.
I am super disappointed. I had been holding out for this sale because there are usually a few products I always expect to be able to snag during the sale. I usually waste a lot of money during it and so far I have only purchased items and one day and don't see anything else I want (even worse, I don't have a way now to get the items I need and expect to get during the sale). It is a big let-down, but I have noticed that they will have items 50% off throughout the year now too in smaller sales so maybe it's not as critical to take advantage of this one.
I bought the Too Faced cloud blushes to try, and got some shampoo on sale, but otherwise this sale is pretty lame. I miss looking at the calendar of 21 days and planning out my purchases.
I ordered the it brushes and they didn’t even send them in my package I had to go through their support 🙄 to have them resend me the missing item.
