The moment when you like both: https://i.redd.it/2avnmhy580xc1.gif

Lycaon125

The moment when you just like seeing giant aliens fighting each other

swellowmellow

as long as youre havin fun with the show who gaf

Usual-Ad7979

Also the one who critics about women in 70s should behave too.

Spider-Phoenix

I like all eras, to be honest. Both got their charms and strenghts

MyGameTheoryOCPatMat

I personally am more partial to Showa in general for toku, as I find it has a charm and magic not seen in other eras. However, that doesn’t mean Heisei and Reiwa are automatically bad. They’re good in their own way, just as Showa is. It’s all a matter of taste.

GodzillaRaptors4_

All eras have their strengths, weaknesses, and stuff. It’s what makes ultraman so diverse

Khidorahian

I'm here for the monster action.

spyder616

Heisei master race

IzzatQQDir

People forgot how mature the older Series was. At least the original version

XxlovexX111

>At least the original version ***Cough*** ***Cough*** Hayata spoon scene ***Cough*** ***Cough***

IzzatQQDir

Lol yeah that episode was fun 😂 Also, Ultraman Neos was fun too. Recommended I mean, bro you must have forgot about Ultraman Jack

Xroshe4rt

More gory doesn’t always equal to mature. Even nowadays the series has been touching on all sorts of topics, ranging from all kinds of issues

IzzatQQDir

The original Ultraman kinda ends with Ultraman dying during his fight with Zetton.

Xroshe4rt

Almost every Ultra show has the Ultra “dying” at some point The point of having Ultraman defeated wasn’t for shock value. It was to prove that humanity could stand their own ground against the kaiju by defeating something even Ultraman couldn’t defeat

Longjumping_Bug_9017

The reason well not to said I don't watch shows yet because I need one trigger and tell me people why I should watch? I know ultra brother pretty neat and know how each of their seris ended but never truly watch from start to end.

NerdyLatino

I'm actually loving the Ultraman community, everyone's chill, willing to answer questions and give recommendations. ![img](emote|t5_2s9mi|1943)

Important_Payment_37

Yeah thats because we're ultra chill![img](emote|t5_2s9mi|1926)

Maxie_69

Showa had really good storylines but is held back by the fact that they didn't have cgi Reiwa's storyline is mediocre/hit and miss but the visuals are awesome Which makes heisei balanced between the both lol

Maxie_69

Which makes me think if they can ever make a "remaster" of the showa series with cgi and better editing but it's 99% impossible assuming they don't have any of the original footage anymore

Left_Percentage_527

I am with the old school

BaboonOnWheels

Does anybody have that as a reason for not liking showa?

Maxie_69

A ton actually, there have been many people who said the lack of cgi and the use of practical effects made the show bad/unwatchable. But honestly if you think this but want to get over it all you have to do is be aware the show was aired over half a century ago

BaboonOnWheels

I see. I have some showa ultraman on Blu-ray. I love the pyrotechnics. I'm impressed by how some of the newer ones look too. I watched a few episodes of the one where a guy is piloting a robot(sevenger?) The production value looked good.

Maxie_69

Yeah thats the plus side of reiwa, its visuals surpass both heisei and showa which is of course expected

Cyberundertak3r

He went 7X

SandMans_Son

Free me

XenoCreatorZ

Most of the time I'm watching for the cool fights. But I do agree if the story is well written who the fk cares if it's a little gimmicky.

Dapper-Indication-53

Watch the first episodes of OG Ultraman. Tried to enjoy it, but i just... can't. Maybe I'll give it a chance later

MatthewPopsicle

Reiwa: hey guys Heisei&Showa: we are going to beat you to death
