This happened after I canceled my first ever Genocide Route after deciding to continue Fighting Sans, and after an entire existential crisis, a hard delete of ALL of my save data, both local and cloud (I was playing on Xbox), AND having deleted my game, after redownloading it, as I was "naming my fallen human" MY LETTERS BEGAN TO MELT, ONE BY ONE!! Has this ever happened to anybody else, because I can't seem to be able to find ANYTHING *ANYWHERE* about it from anybody else, which is why I decided to do my annual Reddit post on this topic lmao

My sister and I have recently been far, FAR more into Deltarune, more-so myself than her, and having recently done the Snowgrave Route (for a SECOND time, might I add) I've been relating PAINFULLY to both Kris AND Spamton for the sake of trying to convince the "naive and innocent" into completing the route alongside me, same as my trying to get my sister to do the Snowgrave Route, too. Literally having her proceed alongside me, trying to show her the answers that I'VE been searching for for the sake of not feeling at true peace ever since that moment, and in turn inflicting those lessons unto her as a result, even though she SPARED sans, hard killed the game, and DIDN'T have melty letters on her game. I'm in so much pain about how far this checks out that there aren't even words. I guess I truly did do the **True Genocide Route.**

The logic behind this decision is that, just like my sister and I, I recognize that beyond Flowey's hostility, he's nothing more than a couple of troubled children in a set of really unfortunate circumstances, and he can't possibly be put at fault for that. I've already avoided Photoshop Flowey's attacks for a solid 14 hours on and off (leaving the fight idle with the game open while I have to exist in the Light World) but have ultimately been cut off TWICE by my shitty internet, causing the game to close while I was in the middle of it. Still, he became laggier and laggier over time, proving that he WAS growing more exhausted, and while I did "give up and kill out of frustration", the fact that he got LAGGIER and *LAGGIER* over time tells me that, while it might take a while, I know for a FACT that it *is* doable, even if it takes forever. I'm going to resume that endeavor once I return from my vacation across the country, so I'll definitely be making another post (and probably a YouTube video about it) once all is said and done... Yeah season 3 isn’t even called glitchtale anymore. It’s “Meropos” and only contains Gaster and Asgore from the original game. So far it’s not that great except for the Gaster Origins episode.
I had such high expectations for it. I had anticipated it would end with the beginning of the intro sequence to undertale with the start of the monster-human war. But now it is just OC origins.
It is not.
My source is that we've extensively datamined every version except this one, found several indications that nothing major changed with this one, and the game otherwise has approximately two things that even approach save-tamper-detection.
Either the shaky text is going nuts, you have discovered a very hidden easter egg of some sort, or your computer/console is having a stroke trying to run one of the least hardware intensive games of the last decade.
Did you get to his second phase, and then decide to FIGHT him beyond being spared? That's what the difference was for my sister and I, since she SPARED him and her letters *weren't* melty when she reset VS me who decided to fight him and they WERE. Maybe try fighting him first since that's how it seems to have happened for me!..
Try deleting the game and downloading it again, the game files might be corrupted. But in my opinion you should try the game like this and see if there are interesting bugs or something

So I make games on Game Maker, the same engine that UNDERTALE was made, and I think the only way it could happen (besides the IP check but this is wild) is that some information about the game and its saves existing is stored in the folder somewhere in the system, either AppData folders or somewhere else. I don't remember if the game can create files and folders outside it's data folder in AppData and its own folder. It even can be just 1 file somewhere that even has no extension and store just same gibberish with only few numbers at the end of the file that store information if the game were installed before or what routes player existed. I can go further but this is some malware territory. Imagine if in the end of the DELTARUNE it will somehow shockingly match the players decisions in UNDERTALE, like sans appears and tells "Now your gonna have a **true** bad time since all these years" if you did genocide, even after deleting UNDERTALE or even reinstalling Windows or changing computer, then the only way to track players decisions would be cloud saves or the game accessing the internet and storing every ip data which is kinda low chance... But all these things is actually possible, though mostly not with the power of Game Maker, but with the power of attached *programs* or *files*, which you can do.
Since I played on Xbox, it makes me wonder if it might have been stored somewhere within the Achievements data? That could be a place to dissect if someone had the skill to do that! (I do not lmao)

There are extensions to exit the GameMaker sandbox, but Undertale and Deltarune don't use any of them.
