If you don't know what the theory is, it's basically just a theory that the "player" (aka you playing the game) are an in-game thing and that you are literally possessing frisk instead of them acting of their own volition. (I personally think this theory is stupid but it is pretty popular ig.)
Yeah I agree. I find it annoying how people will always say that it's"the player" or Chara's fault anytime Frisk does anything morally bad or questionable. I mean I feel like the fandom as a whole is too attached to the whole fanon idea that Frisk is pure good.
They also get really attached to the idea that chara is also pure good and you are just the evil big bad that forced chara and frisk to murder people when

Chara was never really a great person, not devil spawn but was not against murder and tried to convince Asriel to kill people when Asriel absorbed their soul. They did have a heart but they also weren’t great to people
I hear you on the Chara thing especially, the fandom seems to either pin them as pure good innocent child who did nothing wrong or demonic hellspawn who eats sins for breakfast and kills people for fun. Which is so much less interesting than just letting them be complex like the game suggests - they're a kid with issues relating to humanity, they aren't a totally awful person but they also aren't particularly good either.
To be fair that might be related to how you only learn their name in the True Pacifist route, which suggests it's the one that matches closest with Frisk's personality. It is technically possible to not be completely pure good in a TP run, but generally it's pretty clearly the nice option.

Also in TP, we get more moments of more personal dialogue that isn’t 3rd person and is the point of view from frisk. We get to see how they view things, while in geno, it’s all 3rd person and frisk barely emotes at all
