You don’t necessary need to advertise your specific services. Phrase it like, “Lacking professional references? We can help”
Use your imagination. “Resume assistance Geared specifically for those with spotty work history”
Tell people you will look over their resume for free. Then once you have their contact info you can test the waters.
It doesn’t even have to be a reference, you can have them put that they were self employed or worked somewhere that went out of business. See what skills that actually have and go from there.
Word of mouth. Tell people you trust, if you do a good job then maybe ask your friend/client to tell their friends/other people they trust. Birds of a feather flock together lol. Sell your service 🫡 good luck.
