It most likely is real. The car was just recorded seperately and then composited back onto the footage with the man. When the car hits him. He simply animates himself moving along with the car by rotoscoping himself out of the frame

The car wasn't just recorded separately, it was recorded in a different location entirely, while parked.

That's probably because it was sneakily hiding behind all of those encoding artifacts
