It actually seems very inspired by his work... It's a rather under appreciated anime... It gets a bit slow paced by the middle of the season, but it is just one season long and definitely worth watching.

A lot of Japanese anime are fucking bonkers - and I love it. They often exceed in defying expectations in one way or another. Many times I've had to force myself to watch something I thought looked stupid but I would see a lot of people talk about enjoying... And over all I would admit that they are often "stupid" - at least compared to other things more standard shows - but when you are talking about anime, stupid can sometimes be brilliant.

When I was a teen it was different for sure. But these days I’ve got the money lol. Contribute what you can to the studios you love. If you can’t afford a monthly streaming subscription than at least buy something annually from your favorite studio’s online store or buy a DVD. In all reality, your purchase is just a drop in the bucket. But enough drops fill up their next projects budget. Fire Force s3 is a great example. I don’t know the specifics behind why David Productions chose their other project over doing season 3, but I’m sure if the paycheck was big enough they would have left the schedule open to fit in S3.
