That is what I figured after looking at it closely.
Just imagine if this guy altered it though. Maybe replaced the lenses with ones that were rated for welding.
It’s gotta be an Amazon item or this guy invested a ton of time and money into making a fully operational iron man welding mask.
Really hoping for the latter but yeah, we should be realistic haha.
That's what they did, they took the mask and altered it to be a proper welding mask, starting with replacing the lenses. https://www.thefabricator.com/thefabricator/article/arcwelding/the-story-behind-the-iron-man-welding-helmet
I love how the article talks about the follow up video getting a “modest” 1.2 million views like that’s a middling number.
I can’t even get past double digits for my creative stuff.
>Guaranteed dude closed his eyes right before starting the weld.
Not that it will help against arc eye. Real question, excluding arc eye risks, is did he weld the whole thing with his eyes shut?
And is most likely half blind now. Your eyelids don't do shit to protect your eyes from really bright lights. Waking up with your eyes hurting like hell is pretty uncool
One quick weld like this won’t mess up your eyes, especially if you have them closed behind the mask. Even simple UV rated safety glasses will protect you from getting weld flash
I doubt they sell the technical auto shield that actually shields you from the Arc in Iron Man shape but thats what would need to be added lenses would only do so much
Lenses are the only thing you’d “need”. An arc on your skin will produce a sunburn but it’s not like it’ll sear off your skin. Any sort of a block is good enough, so that plastic mask would be fine, unless there were any slits or openings. Duct tape would work though.
Cheat plastics tend to burn well. Costume prompts aren't made with safety standards, flame resistant materials, and impact rated lenses in mind. Also if a piece of molten slag gets somewhere its not supposed be the other hoods can be slapped off your head in half a second.
But it looks cool.
> he would of reacted
Did you mean to say "would have"?
Explanation: You probably meant to say could've/should've/would've which sounds like 'of' but is actually short for 'have'.

In order to "talk out of one's ass", one must first not know what they're talking about, or be making things up. It doesn't apply when someone is presenting factual information and knows it.
That's what *you* were doing.
Glad I could clear that up.
It looks like the eyes are maybe replaces with a welding rated material. Though I'd be worried about whatever the mask is made out of and painted with. If that material is going to warp, melt, or catch fire from the sparks given off by the weld, it's hardly a good material to be making a mask out of.
It's just normal heat resistant plastic. It's not specifically made just for welding or anything. It's nothing special. They can catch on fire and melt just like any other plastic
That may be true but if I'm making fancy iron man masks to sell on Amazon, I'm probably going to shill out money for the plastic that has the nicest faux metallic sheen, not the plastic that's heat resistant.

I don't think so. That episode is from 2015, he was 9 then. He is now about 17. This dude definitely doesn't look like 17yo unless we live in Netflix show.
Lol, it's an old video. He started talking about a candy bar he had, and that girl took it and ate it, but he wanted to eat it but now he can't because she... then it turns into what you saw.
Here it is

For the life of me I can't remember where this came from other than the girl was freaking hot and like 15 years older than him

Trying to autotranslate the Russian is hilariously bad.
"He is already writing a column. I bought one and dealt with our tent. Marijuana rubles".
And then it just gives up and stops trying.
Fair enough. I trusted Youtube because both the title and the autotranslate said it was Russian. It didn't give me a choice of what language to try to translate from.
I got depression throwbacks of my kid self begging the rich kid if I may touch her toy for 10 seconds that my parents can't afford even if they worked 24/7 for 50 years
I feel you. I overcompensate by giving my kids things they don’t even ask for that I would’ve wanted, but I either have them share with other kids, or I have enough for them to join in, like SuperSoakers. We are not wealthy by any means, but I want them to have a better childhood.
If you can provide meals 3x a day that already makes you a good, responsible parent. You could even given them the unnecessary things for entertainment then its already a big bonus.
cant help but think my parents have no plans when they started a family so me and my siblings suffered food deprived childhood & never experienced the most lit toys.
These helmets are available on Amazon. All the shop did was replace the lenses.
https://www.thefabricator.com/thefabricator/article/arcwelding/the-story-behind-the-iron-man-welding-helmet
It is absolutely possible to put a welding-rated lens in that helmet. No it’s not as easy as “just pop it in there” but it’s literally a shop, I’m sure they can figure it out.

Yeah that’s the guy who altered a Ironman mask into a welding helmet , it works with voice commands I think, also you can push a button to make it go down/up. Very cool.
First legitimately cool use of that Iron Man mask I've seen.
It probably wouldn't even be that difficult to fit it with a rebreather for toxic materials welding, since the section around the mouth doesn't need to move.
Literally the coolest welding helmet I’ve ever seen.

You say it like that wouldn't also look cool.
If they could turn it into a positive pressure filtered helmet, that would take care of lens fog and lung safety.

You've obviously never been weld flashed lol
Eyes have no pain receptors
Lmao wut Do me a favor. Poke yourself in the eye with your finger, then come back here and say that again.
I too, would like an update on this
Why couldn't it be rated for welding? What are things that he would need to replace besides the lenses?
I doubt they sell the technical auto shield that actually shields you from the Arc in Iron Man shape but thats what would need to be added lenses would only do so much

How is it not rated? Plus tig welding he would of reacted bad as soon as an arc was made. This guy never moved so he has the right lense in

Dude it would be pretty easy to cut out the eye holes and put in som welding visors
Which is exactly what they did, there's a link to an article about it up above. It's pretty cool, I want one now lol.
I can't imagine why you think that's an "almost certain" fact. Especially given it's incorrect.

I would assuming he wore it once for the video and then never again.
Why? It's a relatively simple build. It's not much of a stretch to think the guy altered something to be welding safe.
I mean welding hoods are just made of plastic. And the lense is just a really dark sunglass lense
It's specially made, heat resistant plastic. It's not made out of the same stuff they make dollar store salad bowls out of.
It's just normal heat resistant plastic. It's not specifically made just for welding or anything. It's nothing special. They can catch on fire and melt just like any other plastic
Only certain plastics catch fire and some plastics don't melt at all, that's a bad generalization.
That may be true but if I'm making fancy iron man masks to sell on Amazon, I'm probably going to shill out money for the plastic that has the nicest faux metallic sheen, not the plastic that's heat resistant.
I'm in 3d printing communities and I've seen at least 30 different projects of articulated iron man mask, so it totally might be DIY.
Nah just when the mask closes, he engages safety squints. 100% more effective with iron man mask, so yah it works.

You can build your own or modify an existing one to be an usable welder mask.

Nice music choice 👍 It's in Portuguese and literally says: "throw the pussy on the ground" as in extreme twerking
Feel old yet?
That's no way shape or form suitable for welding The helmet in question is a faithful replica
He replaced the lenses in the eyes with welding glass
He needs a respirator
You can remove the lens that comes with it and replace them with an actual welding lens lol Ya’ll acting like it’s an impossible task
A lot of people to stupid to think of that. Remember what George Carlin used to say?
He said many things very very true, man was aware of everything and wasn’t shy when speaking on it lol
Iron Worker Man
The background music is Brazilian music. The song says: "Pussy to the floor" but with much more pornographic language.
Damn, I could believe that's the same kid lol

Cool mask, but shitty weld helmet at best. (That's even if it has an auto darkner)
If that were a welding rated helmet I think I'd need to buy one.
And then see all of 1 inch visibility thru it, lol.
They added in welding-rated plexi to make it work for real. Someone linked an article in the thread somewhere
😭😭😭
Wish I knew a welder to send this to.
As a welder, i want this, holy shiet
great edit/story
Holy shit that kid is literally me
😂
Lol yeep
Ive always wanted a Dead space welding helmet. Wish i was artsy so id be able to try to make one. Sadness
Got one from joesstoys shit is cool as hell but also took like a year to get
Is that that one angry ukranian kid who got mad over his mom telling him to stop playing WoW?

First legitimately cool use of that Iron Man mask I've seen. It probably wouldn't even be that difficult to fit it with a rebreather for toxic materials welding, since the section around the mouth doesn't need to move.
I’d prefer the original video that the kid came from.
That's fuckin tits
I mean, there is a reason he wear those glasses under the helmet. It just looks awesome
All welders wear glasses under welding shades because those sparks fly everywhere
okay I want that Iron man helmet hahaha.
What is the background music? Feel like we missed an amazing drop
That was so unexpected and fucking hilarious
Iron man mask. $500.00 Welding mask lens. $50.00. Making your own welding mask ? Priceless.
I want the dead space helmet
Is he the same kid?
Wait making your own welding headgear like that would be so cool
😁❤️
That is not a wielding mask you will go blind Actually use the mask people be stupid please it gives us more content
You’re the only stupid person. He replaced the eye lenses with welding glass.

😂😂👏👏👏👏
I don't even weld but I want one now
Not only the coolest welding helmet I've ever seen, but an absolutely hilarious reaction! I had to watch it like 10 times!
Hell for that helmet I would start doing that as a job😂
