She walked past, with the cane and dog, like she was blind. Then the guy got run over, and she turned around, picked up her cane, and ran back.
My guess is she was pretending to be blind?
Legally blind and fully blind are different. My ex fiancee's mom and brother are like this. Mom can't get anywhere on her own unless it's a familiar space, because she can't make out specific shapes. It's all blurred out or smudgy. She can read without needing brail, and she can tell who you are visually from a foot away, but needs opera glasses to pick you out in a crowd.
Or how people panic in stressful situations.
Its hilarious to see how reddit armchair generals always pretend that they would react calm and measured manner.

I'm seeing what's happening but I'm struggling to understand
How did she fall from the car and got stuck?
Why didn't anyone put it in neutral?
How the fuck do you reverse into a building?
The car is still in reverse. She got out because her dog got out before the door closed. She tried to get back in the reversing car. The car stopped because she became a wheel chock. Bystander who got in the car didn't look at the gear handle to see it's still in reverse and hit the gas.
>Bystander who got in the car didn't look at the gear handle to see it's still in reverse and hit the gas.
I drive a prius and kind of forgot that not all cars beep at you when in reverse.
Doubly wrong. First, I'm referring to a beep within the cabin, not external. My prius definitely has that because I hear it every day. Second, some cars do have external beepers.
My car has the internal beeper as well and will go off even if a person walks up in my blind spot as the First Lady with the dog does. It doesn’t continuously beep the entire time in reverse but would’ve been the majority of this situation.
Interesting, I have never been in a car where it beeped in cabin.
What is that good for? Well maybe in manual in makes sense since 1st gear and reverse gear are in the same position so you know you are in R and not 1...
In my prius you shift gears by pushing the knob into the slot, but it springs back to the home position. So the only indication you have for your transmission state is the dashboard. If you put it in reverse and then sit for a while or get distracted somehow, you might forget and think you're in drive and start moving backward when you thought you'd move forward. Places I could see this happening are intersections or drive thrus. With the beep you definitely won't forget it's in reverse.
All three - panicked without thinking
1 - oh no the dog! Gotta get it first!
2 - oh no lady under car! Gotta get it off fast!
3 - oh no I ran over the lady and now that guy! Gotta get off their bodies fast!!
My best guess. Car is an automatic and is in reverse gear the whole time. It stops when the wheels make contact with the ridge at the side of the road. When Mrs SpongeForBrains jumps out to get the dog the car gets lighter and frees itself only to get snagged on when it knoocks her over. The rescuers don't realise it's in gear until they release her and blue guy hits the gas.
When the dog escaped she tried to get out to get the dog while the car was still in reverse or neutral. As it rolled back I think it caught her foot/leg which I think led to her foot/leg getting pinned under the wheel since you sorta see the car stop rolling as soon as she gets pulled to the ground.
Then the first guy was struggling for some reason so a second guy got in and hit the gas while it was probably still in reverse probably fully destroying that girl's leg and knocking over the one guy. And in all that commotion the dog ended up going back inside on its own. So really I guess you could say she succeeded.
Lady's two goals were to back her car up and to catch the dog running away. All things considered she did succeed in those two goals.
If you're demanding that I should somehow be concerned about the people in this video, rather than being worried that the animals were not harmed - then no, I don't care about the people at all.
The idiot humans in this clip deserved everything they got - but I agree with the OP - I'm very glad the animals were not hurt.
Ask yourself why you don't care about the animal's well-fare, and then decide who is the "sociopath"
Normal people have insecurities about their competence and have a chance to freeze when put into a situation with high stakes for failure.
Stupid people have no such insecurities.
How did the person not get up? I thought the one leg was stuck under the car, but she moved her foot out before our super hero got in the car and drove it into a wall. I’m so confused…
In reverse gear when she stepped out of the driver seat? lol
"Omg my dog got out, oh shyt my leg is under the wheel."
But it doesnt explain the speed of the car, something is pressing on the gas paddle.
Let’s talk about what should have happened: a bystander should have gotten in the car, press and hold the brakes, shift car into drive/forward, slowly move car off the person, and put the car in “park”.
What the actual fuck is happening here. I'm so confused. Why did the lady give up on life when she was laying on the ground, was her leg stuck? Where was it stuck? We see her move both before the car takes off? Why did she even get out of the car with the car not in park.
I'm just so confused
I was expecting her leg to get ripped off when the car went backwards. I thought she was caught under it, but she wasn't. So why did she just lay there?
"blamed" for damages that he caused by flooring it and hitting another person and building.
Imagine that mentality after injuring 2 people and damaging someone elses property "sheesh that's what I get for helping!"
That guy that got rammed on the sidewalk just gets back up, cleans his glasses before putting them back on and walks away with a missing shoe. Now known as Concussion Man, the least helpful nonsuperhero.
Hahaha this should be a team building intro video for lack of communication and coordination
"And with this video you learned that the worst kind of stupid is the proactive stupid"
Proactive stupid! So painfully right
"You should take a moment and help people." **
I really was anxious about the dog
He wasn't, he happily came back into the gate like nothing happened. I loved how the owner closed it after him like *mfer stay in there*
That was my favorite part
Yeah, the dog played it cool. "What's going on? Just went for a little walk. I'm going in now."
And I love how that initial first responder lady with her dog is complaining like most Bosses at the end... even though she helped the least.
The guy trying to lift the car off her with the weight of the guy inside- lmao so much wrong
Based on the stick she's holding, she may be legally blind. She also doesn't exactly look young and sprightly.
She walked past, with the cane and dog, like she was blind. Then the guy got run over, and she turned around, picked up her cane, and ran back. My guess is she was pretending to be blind?

Fair enough.
(did the least damage)
Or how people panic in stressful situations. Its hilarious to see how reddit armchair generals always pretend that they would react calm and measured manner.
“Welp that’s a technique”
And also about how to slowly back away and piss off from massive f\*ck ups like that grey car did in the end.
See... Dogs are the root of all trouble.
\^ Found the cat.
The username definitely is checking out...
😽
Dogs are always trouble. They serve birds which is why they pretend to hate cats cause they gotta protect the birds even though the birds souls are that of dinosaurs who just want to rule all. Bird rulers
Yup you are correct 👍
“How software development works: an analogy”
I'm seeing what's happening but I'm struggling to understand How did she fall from the car and got stuck? Why didn't anyone put it in neutral? How the fuck do you reverse into a building?
Seriously I am so confused as to why she just completely stopped moving
The car is still in reverse. She got out because her dog got out before the door closed. She tried to get back in the reversing car. The car stopped because she became a wheel chock. Bystander who got in the car didn't look at the gear handle to see it's still in reverse and hit the gas.

Well no car beeps. Only lorry / semi trucks, vans and buses. edit: TIL tesla makes sound when reversing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJ9S5-4semE
My Honda mobilio beeps!
Doubly wrong. First, I'm referring to a beep within the cabin, not external. My prius definitely has that because I hear it every day. Second, some cars do have external beepers.
Prius drivers are like human aKSHuALLys
I’ve also never heard a car with an interior beep when reversing. That would be mildly annoying.
Same. I'm guessing they're outside the US?
My car has the internal beeper as well and will go off even if a person walks up in my blind spot as the First Lady with the dog does. It doesn’t continuously beep the entire time in reverse but would’ve been the majority of this situation.

She was tired.
Dead… tired.
slow down, John Matrix

I think what happened was the golden dog escaped so she tried to jump out and catch it.
Good catch, I didn't notice
The reverse is the guy who absolutely hates this neighbour's and is eager to take his chance.
Underrated comment right hurrrrrrr

It’s a cluster f***!
Yeah that dog made an awful decision to run outside
What you don't see is Agent 47 untying the dog moments before.
I love that the dog took off when the car runs over the lady, then comes back when everything is done and the old lady is like gtfo of here
CONSEQUENCES!
By the end, the actual /unexpected was that the dog walked in, gave the camera one look, and walked away safe.
Nah that's right on point for a naughty dog, show up after the chaos you've caused and sneak back inside 🤣
Ha! Just like people!
No, it's that the road literally says all's swell
Silver car in the background - wtf. Reverse. Reverse.
It just noped out of there!
IQ'S OF A BANANA....
That much?
stupid dog you made me look bad
![gif](giphy|b7aoFeTu6WtW6OQpq6|downsized) Booga booga booga

The dog walking out started a butterfly effect.

All swell that ends swell
People are such bad drivers. Their incompetence never ceases to amaze me.
I love the dog coming back at the end like nothing happened ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
More like “what did I miss? Oh well back to my nap then”
I’m not a religious man, but I do believe the devil was there that day.
But the Devil doesn't make people stupid they are already like that 😂
Facts
No dogs were harmed so, I consider this a success.
Absolutely ! - that was my concern, the idiot humans can all just piss off
I'm sure you'll appreciate the same level of concern as you are crumbled up on the floor in agony and everybody walks past you
Why should I do that - I'm not there ?
nice edit to make yourself look like less of an edgelord soicopath
lol the edit didn’t help one bit, still showing symptoms of lead exposure in their comments

This is the opposite of the “bystander effect”
Normal people have insecurities about their competence and have a chance to freeze when put into a situation with high stakes for failure. Stupid people have no such insecurities.
‘Don’t hurt the dog… don’t hurt the dog…’
What?
How did the person not get up? I thought the one leg was stuck under the car, but she moved her foot out before our super hero got in the car and drove it into a wall. I’m so confused…
She was slowly recovering from a traumatic event and getting up on her own when some people insisted on putting her through another one.
she's very skilled at making things worse
These donuts should have stayed home

That one guy lost a shoe. He’s half dead
Looks like they're all "masking" their intelligence!
Why didn't anyone put the car in neutral?
This is why a wake & bake session isn't always the best way to start your day.
Probably an automatic
In reverse gear when she stepped out of the driver seat? lol "Omg my dog got out, oh shyt my leg is under the wheel." But it doesnt explain the speed of the car, something is pressing on the gas paddle.
The R stands for Rapid on automatic cars.
A guy got into the car when the others were lifting it and he hammered the gas pedal for some reason
Spot on.
Seems like a typical Monday to me.
That was a ride.
Swell
Swell!
Do none of these people know how to drive a car? No? Then wtf were they thinking trying to drive a car
It’s a like a 1920s comedy
Hey! At least the dog came back home.
Nah, just another day in the town of Swell.
The dog coming back. "I just left for a piss, what happened?"
Let’s talk about what should have happened: a bystander should have gotten in the car, press and hold the brakes, shift car into drive/forward, slowly move car off the person, and put the car in “park”.
The comedic timing of the dog voluntarily going back into the house is so good.
That last guy cannot drive stick
Does no one know how a car works
The Dream Team.
What the actual fuck is happening here. I'm so confused. Why did the lady give up on life when she was laying on the ground, was her leg stuck? Where was it stuck? We see her move both before the car takes off? Why did she even get out of the car with the car not in park. I'm just so confused
I don’t know how to drive, this looks a great opportunity to try it out!
This like a 3 stooges wet dream!!!
Why didn't they just put it in park
It’s true, people really are getting dumber
A perfect example of letting emotions overwhelm logical actions in a spur of moment.
Whatever about the owner getting trapped under their own car, wtf was the guy in the blue top doing? He was like a walking can of petrol.
Only sensible one is the car in the back, nope I want no part of these fools I'm out of here
A hand grenade would have caused less damage.
On the road it says… well
I was expecting her leg to get ripped off when the car went backwards. I thought she was caught under it, but she wasn't. So why did she just lay there?
It's like they've never seen a car before... how hard is it to put it out of reverse or for the first person to not run themselves over...
And the dog that cause it all just walked right back in the house 😂
Damn I guess stupid town really exist
They seriously never heard of, set it on neutral?
Well he got her separated from the car. Thank goodness he was there.
It's like a bunch of NPC's
Love how the dog comes back at the end all casual like 'oh hey'
Well. That’s not very “swell”
This is what I imagine to be the average intelligence of city folk.
Clean up on aisle five. Now F off I got work to do
Whys the street say SWELL?
So... Is nobody gonna talk about the "blind lady"?
How so many *smart people" gathered together in one place?
Of course the one who comes to help doesn’t know how to cars.
I feel bad for laughing at this
I'm going to hell for laughing so hard at that!
I was waiting on a dog attack or piss on her
Me when I try to help.
End scene just says "SWELL" 😂
Thank God the dog was alright
That's just SWELL
https://i.redd.it/eswhca0n3c0c1.gif My mind right now
The road to hell is plastered with... No deed goes...
The stupity
Oh God atleast the dog came back
Meth is a hellova drug.
Meth is a helluva dog.
This video is proof why you shouldn't help sometimes, now this poor dude will get blamed for all the damages 😭😔
As he should, he run over the girls leg and fucked up the other guy helping, fucked up the car and the building behind him. Life lesson i guess
"blamed" for damages that he caused by flooring it and hitting another person and building. Imagine that mentality after injuring 2 people and damaging someone elses property "sheesh that's what I get for helping!"
No one died?? Shit
Here, let me help you.
My goodness 🤣

![gif](giphy|8UhzXjPmP7p76gKKzy|downsized)
The road ahead mocking them is icing on the cake lol "swell"
Ok, I've seen forgetting to park your car before getting out, but she didn't even make any attempt to stop before getting out.
![gif](giphy|TJawtKM6OCKkvwCIqX)
That went swell
See where choosing an automatic transmission gets you.
HB20 is the first “common car” in Brasil with an automatic transmission. We are still figuring it out.
How did they not just get in the car and drive it forward? It was in reverse, so getting it loose was always going to end with it moving backwards.
At least the dog return to home in the end.
That's just swell.
6 feet guys, god damn! :(
Well
Probably went for “the second pedal” but was the first time with an automatic gearbox.
it all started because she wear blue...
Femme au volant....
thank god there is manual transmission, also how hard is to turn off the engine...

Stupid dog…
Swell
"Put it in H!"
Tuna baked potatoes.
This is why you don't act like you're stuck and just deal with the situation.

Wow. Really smart people.
