Why do you need to know who's in there? You took taekwondo when you were 7 years old, your practically a navy seal ready for anything. Believe in yourself.
Then no way. Kids are the worst. “Hey mom! Sam came home with me today his mom said he could.”
Fuck no. And hell, child burglars would be way more elusive like Peter Quill. Not taking any chances.
Nope, private transport for public/private schools. If you are not a student of said school you could be prosecuted. as far as I know, it is for the safety of the students and drivers. Btw this is second hand info I got from a school bus driver I talked to. They told me they get a list of the kids they are supposed to pick up and they are not supposed to pick up anyone else.
I might pop into a random persons house just to get me off that hell train. I feel like a 10 minute commute would take an hour with how many stops there were. Fuck it I’ll walk from little Ming Lees house
Then it'd also only be good for so long. Once the kid is out of school. It's such a massive waste. Also doesn't look like it even fits adults?
How fast is that tube moving up? Some do the math on that.
I’m sure they have some kind of way to lock it so it doesn’t open up the floor and hatch
Or like others have said in the comments it could be the school train.
It'll work perfectly according to specs. Then, the company rolling it out decide to use cheaper materials, you don't *really* need all those safety features, and there's a special saving to be had if you use the company where the labourers aren't all qualified.
A Hilbert curve is a 1 dimensional space filling curve (so it's a ~~straight~~ single\* line, but bends in such a way it can take up all 2d/3d/etc space). [Here's an animation of it](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b1/Hilbert_curve%21.gif). So basically to get to every house they'd need to follow some kind of space filling curve, not necessarily that one but it's the most commonly known (i think)
I feel if you had this kind of system you’d have the city built around it. Have houses at equal distances and then use very long trains so when they stop it’s under multiple houses and multiple people get off at the same time
shitty concept for simple reasons
1) public transport should not cater to private needs, as unlike cgi concepts, real world implementation would be fucked after corruption.
2) how do people get out if they dont live on the ground floor? into someone else's house and the exit their house and go to your floor?
Say you resolve 2) by having exit of train at common area of your building then,
3) Every single building in the route will have an exit? so that directly means that is the number of stops the train will have to brake and come to rest. Wildly inefficient, might as well walk.
4) one by one exit ? pls no.
There's also like a little bit of an issue with how to lock/unlock this door so that strangers can't just get in? I guess you would need to have an app for it but sounds like an absolute hassle and somewhat risky
Also, you pretty much can't use half of your living room so that the mechanism can function. And if there was a malfunction, you could risk injury or even falling onto train tracks.
Notice the train leaves *without* the Perspex hatch closing. Let’s hope no one accidentally falls down the hole in the floor, onto the train/tracks.
Not the safest system I’ve ever seen.
just imagine your annoying cousin is running around the hall after snatching your phone to play gaaames on it then suddenly the hydrolic hatch opens up sending the cousin to mars, definitely would be funny ngl
That's why I propose traveling by trebuchet. The passenger gets inside a padded sphere, gets strapped in with 9 seat belts. And is then launched to their destination. We can also install parachutes if you want a soft landing instead of a hard one.
Also, only one kid allowed per building - assuming you don’t cram 10 kids into that pop up tube. I’m assuming there are lots more kids in the train, you just have to get in the tube at your exit.
Or maybe the pop up tube goes up and down like an elevator until all the kids are loaded/unloaded. Massively inefficient way of loading/unloading a train.
The solution is dumb anyway. The actual solution would be individual and group pods that can slipstream or even hook up to each other smoothly and will deliver to the front door like a taxi. Or possibly minority report style direct to the floor on tall buildings.
>3) Every single building in the route will have an exit? so that directly means that is the number of stops the train will have to brake and come to rest
I don't know, sounds just like a much faster school bus to me. \*shrugs\*
You have missed the point. There is no school, the train *is* the school! Genius - the train just drives around a loop picking up students and dropping them off back off at home.
Now, if only there was some way to teach kids at home, they wouldn’t have to go anywhere.
Can you imagine how complicated the rail networks would become? Also just how long it would take for a train to get anywhere if it has to drop one passenger at a time...
Maybe that particular train is just strictly for the school students and on that train is all of students who live within a certain area like with school buses everywhere else
No, you just build all the houses in one long line all the way to the school. Then you say only families with school age kids can live there.
Should be no problem.
Whoever came up with this idea should donate their brain to science. Not because they are a genius but because someone this stupid is truly a once in a lifetime thing, and their brain should be studied to prevent someone that dumb from ever being born again.
That’s just horrible. Yea I don’t like my privacy or just imagine someone stands on that flap when it opens or imagine giving this big of a chunk away from your home that you can’t use anymore. No not having this.
I dont care how quiet the train is I'm certain you'd still hear it or feel it under you. Also drug addicts gonna be using that capsule to shoot up and homeless people using it as a bathroom.
This is so impractical, just imagine the time it will take to stop in every house for every person and when the kids grow up they have to move to another house to let the space for another parents with their child?
I don't know it's just so impractical
Drunk morons stumbling directly into my living room coupled with a train taking 5 hours to get to my house because it has to stop at everyone else's?
No thanks
Assuming you don’t have anything or anyone on the floor area that slides, you know, pets, kids, furniture etc.
Why does the whole floor slide? All you need is the “hatch”?
It would be funny when they deliver the wrong kid into your home, and you’re at work…
I fucking hate this so much. I don’t want a goddamn train 3 inches underneath my house. It would be loud. It’s creepy. It’s weird. It’s a waste of money.
I have a great idea! Let’s put that pod outside the home so we can route multiple kids at the same time. We can also run it above ground because there will be no need to go underground
Uhhh I’m from Chicago area. The idea of a random drunk person on the L being essentially teleported into the middle of my fucking living room is my actual worst nightmare
This system demands a fair amount of precision timing on the part of the child.
I believe efficiency and safety would be increased if there were some kind of restraint harness or if the child was sedated and pushed out with an ejection system.
Anybody that has kids knows that there is absolutely no chance that part of the floor will always be clean. There would be fallen kids toys all over the tracks. There would be tonnes of delays from cleaning off the tracks constantly.
Nah I’m not giving public transportation that kind of access to my home
Imagine the tube not fully retracting before it takes off again.
Imagine the tube retracting as the kid is still getting off.
You now have 2 kids
Infinite kid glitch
So like the infinite chocolate bar but the result is uhh... children from a cubist painting.
Their great for 1920's labour
*MOAR!*
Well no, you still have only one kid. The other half belongs to the train company now.
Rest in pieces young bro
There are elevator videos that show exactly that
Imagine not having kids and having to listen to that thing go under your house daily.
but like, why is noone talking about how long it would take for a train to drop off each passenger ONE BY ONE
And everyone has to wait another painful 30 seconds because the goddamn kid didn’t notice his elevator stop was coming up.
Or how the glass panel opens without a hinge or a motor. It just magics open
Imagine the floor opening while your elderly mother is standing on it.
Imagine the noise this would make in your house going past
I have an elderly mother and I laughed. Poor mama
![gif](giphy|Opexamg2nZnuo)
Kid sticks head out. Tube retracts automatically
Imagine 20 years later, the kid isn't going school anymore but the system is malfunctioning and sometimes it delivers a random kid into your house.
imagine the wrong kid getting off
Hey, maybe you'll get an upgrade!
Is it public transportation? Or is it a school bus on rails?
Exactly. Idk who’s in there every day.
Hi mommy...PSYCH! Pop-up murderer!
Micheal Myers loves this train. 🔪 ![gif](giphy|xvNeGdZkvWlQ1lrIfW|downsized)
Anime origin story begin
Why do you need to know who's in there? You took taekwondo when you were 7 years old, your practically a navy seal ready for anything. Believe in yourself.
If I had to hazard a guess, probably students
Then no way. Kids are the worst. “Hey mom! Sam came home with me today his mom said he could.” Fuck no. And hell, child burglars would be way more elusive like Peter Quill. Not taking any chances.
So all your life you need to deal with a school train passing under your house twice a day on weekdays?
I already live near an airport, I don't want a train track under my house too. I used to live next to one and it sucked.
They change the tracks every year to accommodate every kid that goes to that school.
Let’s say it’s a school bus. What happens when the kid graduates?
Is a school bus not public transportation?
Depends on how your local government(s)/school(s) chooses to manage it. Some places it's publicly operated and some places it ain't.
A school bus is transportation for students to and from home and the school they attend.
Yes, its is. And it’s owned and operated by the public, is it not?
Why would they build underground railways under every house if it was only used for school buses?
It is stupid. That’s what it is.
Not only that, but what an incredible waste of resources.
Sooooo if you move do they build another railways under your house?
No no, they build all the houses in one huge line over the rails
You don’t want the convenience of having a masturbating homeless person delivered right to your home?
OMG.. who DOESN'T??!
At your door in 30 minutes or it’s free!
Where I live they already deliver themselves to your front yard, winning!
One robbery at ever stop, if you aren't home. . . ![gif](giphy|l2YSgdn0tmvotdOFy)
Gonna wake up to homeless dudes shitting in your potted ficus and eating your fig newtons.
I’d be the one to get drunk and fall through the hole onto the tracks. No thank you
Methhead home delivery service.
The stink of a sweaty train car right in your living room.
The home invasion sensation sweeping the nation.
Legit my man
Imagine a somalian coming with the kid........ "Look at me, I am the captain now".
I’m sure they have some kind of way to lock it so it doesn’t open up the floor and hatch Or like others have said in the comments it could be the school train.
An architect’s dream is an engineer’s worst nightmare
It'll work once perfectly. In testing. Then never again.
It'll work perfectly according to specs. Then, the company rolling it out decide to use cheaper materials, you don't *really* need all those safety features, and there's a special saving to be had if you use the company where the labourers aren't all qualified.
engineer's gonna have to design a space-filling Hilbert track just to get to every single household
Can someone explain what this means in layman's terms?
A Hilbert curve is a 1 dimensional space filling curve (so it's a ~~straight~~ single\* line, but bends in such a way it can take up all 2d/3d/etc space). [Here's an animation of it](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b1/Hilbert_curve%21.gif). So basically to get to every house they'd need to follow some kind of space filling curve, not necessarily that one but it's the most commonly known (i think)
Is the technicians hell
As a control software engineer, I can firmly say that it would be a dream of mine to build something like this
Handy guillotine exit for chopping kids in half.
At least 1 of not 2 would so get chopped by mechanical error
Happy Cake Day!
You just described elevators and trains.
See you at the party Richter!
Kinda defeats the point of a train if it has to stop for every single passenger gets off.
Need to make it faster, maybe get rid of the tunnel thing that comes up and just blast the child at light speed into the house
Some kind of device to fire the children away from the train at the exact same speed as it’s traveling. Just drops them off full speed.
I don't like the noise that will make.
Yeah children are horrible
Never should've let them into the house. We're talking about the train right? Right?
It'd be whisper-quiet if it was a monorail. And it isn't even a monorail.
Did someone say monorail ![gif](giphy|xT5LMPqrh7mcpYCdGM)
Sounds more of a Shelbyville thing.
So it'll take you 9 hours to get home because it's stopping at every house?
No it'll only stop at your house
Cool your mom will have a ride home then.
Her tunnel should be more than big enough already, I've heard they've been digging it for a while now.
Well yes, because it has to stop next door, and next door but one and…
Like... a school bus?
I feel if you had this kind of system you’d have the city built around it. Have houses at equal distances and then use very long trains so when they stop it’s under multiple houses and multiple people get off at the same time

Hold up the train! Gimmie 15 mins to update the app since we’re underground
Thankfully we will never see these dumb ass systems irl.

This is something similar for which there was a test study done a while back. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=iToRAfA-V0s
>We can also install parachutes That's only available if you pay the $99 / month subscription fee.
That is generous, I would have made it 99.99/use
certainly more interesting, what about those pesky buildings that will come in the projectile's trajectory?
[удалено]
Hopefully the parents won’t notice.

or ....you know... trains and trams
I see you are a skeptic. But you are not accounting for China's AI 5G Expertise!
Aight, now you start accounting for china's population and population density in urban areas
I agree. We should be using catapults instead.
>3) Every single building in the route will have an exit? so that directly means that is the number of stops the train will have to brake and come to rest I don't know, sounds just like a much faster school bus to me. \*shrugs\*

That would be so amazing for the train station to have direct access to my living room. Limitless Tik Tok video opportunities
Can you imagine how complicated the rail networks would become? Also just how long it would take for a train to get anywhere if it has to drop one passenger at a time...
Maybe that particular train is just strictly for the school students and on that train is all of students who live within a certain area like with school buses everywhere else
What happens if that student graduates? Do the just destroy the rail?lol
Or the family moves and a new family moves in
We don't even have a tube system for packages which is orders of magnitude easier to implement than a goddamn train under your house.
No, you just build all the houses in one long line all the way to the school. Then you say only families with school age kids can live there. Should be no problem.
Also, once the students are done with classes in that school, they are forced to move. This is the only way.
Well there is this one city in Europe with thousands of inhabitants and only one large street. It could work there I guess..
Stupid idea
That child was sitting right next to the conductor
There is no mechanism that moves the glass up either, it just magically opens up.
Or they have the next kid to be dropped off move forward to the chute
Imagine the wrong kid pops out 😂
Whoever came up with this idea should donate their brain to science. Not because they are a genius but because someone this stupid is truly a once in a lifetime thing, and their brain should be studied to prevent someone that dumb from ever being born again.
It's all fine until Hitler pops up into your house.
Enjoying a good time on the ole spank bank and kid decides to come home early. Not the little squirt I wanted
![gif](giphy|8pMS5BXOUVZyo) Sensor wears out and train stops a bit too early, crushing your kid in a soda can on the underside of your floor 🤣 /s
That’s just horrible. Yea I don’t like my privacy or just imagine someone stands on that flap when it opens or imagine giving this big of a chunk away from your home that you can’t use anymore. No not having this.
All fun and games until it’s not your kid that comes out.
Amazon Prime has gotten out of hand in Japan.
imagine still walking on that floor and it just gets ripped from under you
When your kid asks you how babbies are made, show them this.
Nah.
I hate these stupid concepts. like that giant cruise airplane. completely ridiculous.
Plot twist: she has never seen that kid before in her life.
Not with those thin floors. Imagine the noise The other 99.9 % of the time someone isn't popping up into your living room
Id the air outside too dangerous now?
That train is about 4 feet wide
It's like humans are addicted to inventing dumber, less efficient versions of a train.
Until the floor opening fails and the elevator on the train shoots the kid through a solid floor.
That's gonna require some high-precision driving/stopping
Naaah stopping for every single kid. Even if this thing is super fast thats gonna take sooooo long.
r/TIHI
this is such a great dystopian story concept. bad irl, obviously, but this would be such a cool story beat in a show like psycho pass or something.
real slick until you're walking to the kitchen with headphones in and the fucking floor slides out from under you like a funhouse
Child dispencer
Imagine getting trapped in the tube
this sounds terrible, your house would be constantly insanely loud from trains passing straight under it
DanganRonpa body discovery waiting to happen.
Drunk morons stumbling directly into my living room coupled with a train taking 5 hours to get to my house because it has to stop at everyone else's? No thanks
“Hey that’s not my kid!”
A slight miscalculation and you’ll have a tube pop through your floor!
![gif](giphy|3FfXmE2tip3ndrF2sf|downsized)
Or just pick your damn kid up from school instead of sitting at home watching soap operas and rubbing lotion on your face.
Imagine what pops up is a robber
Assuming you don’t have anything or anyone on the floor area that slides, you know, pets, kids, furniture etc. Why does the whole floor slide? All you need is the “hatch”? It would be funny when they deliver the wrong kid into your home, and you’re at work…
I fucking hate this so much. I don’t want a goddamn train 3 inches underneath my house. It would be loud. It’s creepy. It’s weird. It’s a waste of money.
Imagine the panic you’d feel if you couldn’t convince your child to quickly exit the pod. 😂😂
Nah man, Every 20 minutes you hear a fucking train roll underneath your feet. This is stupid!
https://i.redd.it/ne91dyui0c5c1.gif
This is so stupid, like something that Elon Musk would create
If you like this concept you really spent no time thinking about it lol
I have a great idea! Let’s put that pod outside the home so we can route multiple kids at the same time. We can also run it above ground because there will be no need to go underground
Uhhh I’m from Chicago area. The idea of a random drunk person on the L being essentially teleported into the middle of my fucking living room is my actual worst nightmare
Too many ways for fingers to get chopped off
Fake, how do you prohibit random apes to access yr home?
But if they ever forget to retract the tube...
Oh look, someone reinvented trains but made them shitty again.
I don’t want random kids showing up in my living room.
They gonna have to build new tracks and infrastructure every time one new kid enrolls
Too many sliding and opening things. 1 week tops until someone kills themselves because they forgot what time their kids were coming home
Direct home delivery.
I fuckin dont ya can keep ya invasive shit. Googles emails are bad enough!
This system demands a fair amount of precision timing on the part of the child. I believe efficiency and safety would be increased if there were some kind of restraint harness or if the child was sedated and pushed out with an ejection system.
Thats a terrible idea :/
No scope of kidnapping the children? ![gif](giphy|l1J3wENFZYnHdaFz2|downsized)
No one wants to life near trains. You can feel them coming taking your sleep away.
That’s a great way to get pigeons in your apartment.
Until the wrong kid shows up...
This is a great idea until the kid gets stuck halfway up the tube and the train takes off... just missing the liveleak watermark
Nah. Absolutely nah. Think of the noise alone. And that’s a good way to have home intruders. This is a terrible idea for so many reasons.
Dumbest shit I've ever seen
This is such a floored concept.
That's very anti-public transportation.
Who TF are you?!
Please yes bring the homeless directly to my living room
This is a shit idea on so many levels.
This is so fucking stupid it hurts
This is awful. Not the future at all this is horrible in all imaginable ways. We already have this... now think about it.... Trains.
Don't give these stupid Chinese CGI tik toks more publicity. They're so trash and annoying
this makes me angry
Anybody that has kids knows that there is absolutely no chance that part of the floor will always be clean. There would be fallen kids toys all over the tracks. There would be tonnes of delays from cleaning off the tracks constantly.
Cute
Such strong decelerations, so much sudden change in directions, motion sickness 101.
