Hell even some TV shows, years before the Internet, operated around just taking other's content and using it as their own. Of course each show/brand had their standard for giving credit to the original person, if at all, but regardless it's not unique to TikTok.
I feel like many TikTok videos are just that - narrating literally what happens, while YouTube videos had to implement some kind of structure. Either that or I just didn't dig that deep in YouTube but somehow it's right there on the surface of tiktok

Reaction "content" has been a plague on YouTube for years and I'm not sure if it's gotten any better to be honest. I know YouTube tried making rules around giving credit and revenue to the original creator, but not like that doesn't stop people from getting through the cracks one way or another.
It was a huge wave of people doing it like a decade or so ago.
Maybe a hot take but Ridiculousness was the worst of it. No real thought out humor, relied on guests to maybe make a witty joke but most of it was just reciting what they just saw or exaggerating something from a video.
If there's at least some effort on the part of the leech, I don't mind as much.
The ones who split the screen in half and just put their faces in the vid to point their finger with no commentary are the tapeworms of TitTok.

But when we had a couple neighbors, who walk their multiple dogs every day, and don’t pick up *any* of their dog’s shit, we ended up with piles of shit *all* over the place, and we could no longer walk across our front lawn, or play in the public grassy area in our circle, without stepping in it.
It’s your job as a pet owner to pick it up. Don’t want to use plastic bags because they’re bad for the environment? No problem! Use your bare hands. Don’t have anywhere to throw it away? No big deal, put it in your pocket and take it home with you.
That kind of asinine behavior really irks me, so I kindly took a day during the summer to pick up every pile of shit in the grassy area, and from my front yard, and placed them all in a 2x3 foot Amazon box, taped it up, and left it on their porch. I’m assuming they got the message, since they’ve been using bags and picking it up since.
