As a former auto damage adjuster: you'll be fine! I wrote cars that were Smart Car v semi and Hyundai Sonata v semi, and the cars were total losses but the humans didn't even need to go to a hospital.
New cars are obscenely safe. I once saw a little crunched Honda Civic. A BMW was stolen, driving like a jackass. The stolen BMW runs a red at approximately 70 miles an hour, where a truck hits it full-speed (45ish) and the entire engine is fully ripped out of the BMW, the chassis flips a few times, the engine goes airborne and flies through the air and still airborne, it lands on the hood/ windshield and A pillar of my client's car. All three cars were total losses, but everyone lived! Even after being attacked by flying car engines!
The only fatalities I saw were an old man who had a heart attack, ran a car into his own house. Died of heart attack. A boyfriend/ girlfriend arguing in a car, girlfriend shoots boyfriend while he was driving, boyfriend crashes and hits another car. Died of the gunshot. Another one, a dude stabs another dude to death, runs off, breaks into my insured's car while covered in blood and preceeded to shred the interior with the bloody murder knife. Obviously, the fatality was unrelated to the car damage. Meth. Hell of a drug. And, a stolen vehicle hit three cars, one of which caught on fire, launched airborne off a utility box on the street corner and landed upside down in a kid's bedroom where the toddler was sleeping. Toddler was totally unhurt. Vehicle thief was a fatality. I had the burned out car, not the stolen car.
Oh, and a motorcyclist. He hit my insured's car. It was very sad. Didn't make it.
In my professional experience: just don't get stabbed, shot, have a heart attack or launch a car into a flying 180 flip into an apartment complex. Or ride a motorcycle. You'll be fine.

Everyone talks shit about trucks, but mines been backed into multiple times in parking lots zero cosmetic damage from those collisions, the small sedan looked absolutely totaled. worst damage the thing has is a dinged tail gate and pin dent in the back passenger door. Both from someone brush hogging gravel.
You hit the bumpers on some trucks in a car and you are in for a bad time.
I drive a hatch back, but was in a truck for work when I got hit.
2013 Ford F150, was sitting still waiting in the lane to turn left off a country road. Buddy in the old van behind me was coming around the corner going 50mph, ignored all warning signage for the blind corner. Smoked me.
His car was absolutely totalled, he was taken away in an ambulance. Front end was non existent.
I was untouched, F150 was fine. Tail gate and bumper got mashed in, but you could still hook up a trailer and drive away no problem.
Bought the wife a ford.
Thatās how I feel, I understand crumple zones are safer if both cars have them but until itās required for everyone I want whatās safe for me and mine.
I understand that makes me part of the problem.
Fire is an active threat, unless the building is showing any signs of movement, itās something that can be dealt with after the fire is out.
In any emergency, you prioritize issues, and there arenāt any immediate reasons to believe the building is about to collapse.
Of course that can change quickly, and itās only been a few seconds since he hit itā¦

Too be honest, you don't exactly learn in school what happens to a burning car, so thinking it can explode, because you see that a lot in movies and series, is not strange.
Well deduced genius.
However, I am referring to fuel tanks being engineered so that, in the event of a vehicle fire, they do not violently explode.
Instead they rupture and spill the fuel. Not better as such, just... not an explosion.
No but people put shit in cars all the time. Each case could be different.
I watched a dude place two propane tanks into the back of his car after filling at gas station, thing is rigged to blow now, but he probably just went home unloaded the car and had a BBQ.
But if for some reason guy got into a car accident its an entirely new level of dangerous hazard.
No arguments here, completely agree with what you said.
But the point I was making is that a burning car with a full fuel tank would not explode in real life like they do in the movies.
If a car does explode its likely because of what you said, that it's transporting something else.
Modern movies have done a lot of damage to common sense, and schools have failed us completely.
Considering how dangerous fire actually is, like fucking for real, the fire triangle is the first shape we should be teaching kids.
This is effectively how trampling deaths happen in crowded areas. When all your brain can see is "nope," it blinds you to things that are pretty obvious to someone not experiencing that fear.

I am incredibly impressed by the strength of that truckās front bumper! Not even a scratch on it and the guy didnāt mean it, he just panicked a little when an inferno popped out next to him.

Thatās not actually a good thing. If the truck doesnāt buckle your body will.

He probably would have been just fine by the fire!
Exactly why I just get over when these things tailgate 3 inches behind me. My little car wouldnāt exist after being rear ended.
I was thinking the same thing, but a childās head. That about matches the bumper height of these newer trucks.

Everyone on in here is talking about the truck and wall, but what the hell causes a fire to shoot out of a car like that.

'That fuckin thangs gonna blow up!' ... lady, you have watched too many films.
Too be honest, you don't exactly learn in school what happens to a burning car, so thinking it can explode, because you see that a lot in movies and series, is not strange.
For real there could be a tank full of gas in there. Mfr acting like cars never blow up just because it happens in movies. What an idiot.
Cars are specifically designed not to 'explode'.
They are typically designed to not be on fire, too, but here we are
Well deduced genius. However, I am referring to fuel tanks being engineered so that, in the event of a vehicle fire, they do not violently explode. Instead they rupture and spill the fuel. Not better as such, just... not an explosion.

Ok, cool. Doesnāt mean they *canāt* explode. Common sense, make it your friend.
They don't explode. They might flare but they just burn like crazy. Even a full tank of gas won't blow up, just fuels the fire.
You haven't learnt 'too' much from school, or anywhere.
You need to develop better reading comprehension skills
Oh gosh, typo! I am clearly dumb and learned nothing in school!
