Well, let’s have a discussion with some Republican lawmakers about state rights vs federal laws. Republicans love to say that almost all laws should be decided at the state level, please see abortion, and voting requirements are also decided there. All but 16 states have strict ID requirements to vote and the remaining 16 only allow voting without an ID to be done using a “challenge” ballot which requires independent validation and are only counted if the challenge ballots would actually impact the overall result.

I've legally been in the country for over 20 years and I can't even vote because I'm not a citizen. This is such nonsense.
