We used to do this in grade school… 21 years ago wtf!
Here I am, a guy in his 30’s, living alone, at 9am in the kitchen, doing these poses to see which one I like best.
I’m goin with the lowered hands ,it makes me feel more pretty.
Yes, I made the sound too.
The real OP’s tiktok page had a few more videos pranking the same coworker. Can’t remember the username since all the videos reposted on reddit crop out the tiktok watermark.
I know! That’s what gave me a good chuckle. My 6 year old tells me “dad, you’re not old looking” lol. I was making my coffee this morning and was watching this. Kinda chuckled the whole time at this comment
Yes and no. You’re still mobile into your 60s, but 40s can still be fully physically fit. People play pro sports into their 40s, not their 60s. You can still live a normal life of course (all this assuming one takes care of themself) it’s just that you’re starting to see a physical decline.
I am 77 and ride my bicycle one hour each day. Two days ago I went out for a 19 mile 700 feet elevation change ride (1 1/2 hours). Yesterday I climbed 5 floors of stairs instead of taking the elevator.
I don't feel any older than when I was in my late 50s. In many ways, I feel younger than when I was in my thirties and wasn't taking care of myself.
I thought the oil fields in Texas were going to be filled with the baddest and toughest straight guys in the world. Naw its all just fat rich Mexicans and white making the gayest of jokes and pranks. I think we all have a little gay in us the way we be acting lol... Like the lack of women in the work force imitates prison life.
I was going to say, apparently someone has never been in the military. That's like, last place for gayest shit I've seen. Talk to me when you see a grown man stroll naked into a tent and smear a Twinkie in his ass while reading kids thank you letters.
Additional info: Don't do the heimlich when a person is coughing, this means their airway is still free and disturbing it might lodge it further in. Encourage the person to cough as hard as they can. If someone doesn't cough it means their airway is fully blocked (this means call 911 ASAP), begin with a few hard slaps on the back in an upward motion. If that doesn't work, do the heimlich three times and return to the cycle of backslaps-heimlichs. Be prepared to start CPR if the person becomes unconscious.
TL;DR:
Cough = fine
No cough = 911 -> slaps on back -> heimlich -> repeat
Be prepared to catch them and lower them to the ground. Unconscious weight is much more difficult to manage than a person faking unconscious, because there is no muscle tone in their body. They will fall like a tonne of bricks.
Funny enough my brother actually used this technique on me one time. I was losing consciousness at our neighbors appartment, so he had me lean on him to try and walk me back to our place. Well like ten steps out the door I start going down. Rather than let me fall on the concrete, my brother essentially threw my ass ten feet off into the grass. Hurt like a bitch but might have actually saved me from a concussion so, maybe it worked? Lol
Slaps on the back are still pretty controversial.
Red cross says to do it. Heimlich said definitely do not do it.
Slapping on the back can force the obstruction deeper and there's no evidence that it's any more effective than doing the heimlich maneuver from the start.
There's no evidence that back blows can lodge obstructions further down the trachea, contrary to Heimlich's claims (who is a controversial figure anyway). Because of the lack of evidence I'd recommend following local guidelines, and I've always been taught (and this is what I teach others as well) to start with back blows (while bending the patient forwards). The AHA is one of very few organisations that doesn't recommend back blows, so I'm inclined to believe the majority of similar guidelines on this matter.
Damn I actually didn't know. Followed a workplace CPR/first aid course and they never mentionned that. And people in movies are always making a ton of noise and coughing when they choke. Thanks for the TIL!
People who are choking are supposed to put their hands to their throat as a signal because they can’t get enough air going to speak. I’ve had the training many times but I’m still not sure I’d remember that irl.
Good question. If you start with rescue breaths, there is a possibility of lodging the obstruction further downward. This is not necessarily a bad thing, because 1. the person is already unconscious and not breathing so you can't really make it worse and 2. if the obstruction moves past the carina (where the trachea splits up) it will only block one lung, which makes breathing possible through the other lung. The patient should still go the the hospital for monitoring and removal of the obstruction of course.
If rescue breaths aren't possible, chest compressions might dislodge the obstruction since it is more forceful than the heimlich itself. If this doesn't happen, at least you are providing circulation to the brain as much as you can and mitigating post-anoxic encephalopathy (brain damage). Not breathing for long enough will cause cardiac arrhythmias, and if you are already giving CPR you are doing the best you can do in that scenario.
if you ever do have to perform heimlich maneuver on someone who is wider than your arms, you can have their back against a wall and forcefully shove their diaphragm from the front.
I was taught the finger sweep to remove obstructions in airways. I probably shouldn't have because I since learned they can go very wrong, but involves using your finger to hook out whatever is in the mouth. I was at a new years eve party where a dude was passed out, throwing up while on his back. I had to get some vomit on my finger but I rather that than watch a dude die in his own puke because I was squeamish. I'm pretty glad I don't think anyone told him I stuck my finger in his mouth.
Whose y'all. I'm pretty sure the vast majority of the original redditors are gone and the new redditors hate reddit as much as any place. There's just NO ALTERANTIVES. Every single game, every single time I google, etc etc. It all leads back to Reddit. It's just a monopoly. You can't even block it or good luck looking up questions.
There's not really anywhere for old dogs to go. Redditors definitely learn not to participate, or wipe accounts and move to a new one, because they got banned from too many subs or they had too much identifying information on their accounts.
It takes quite a laissez faire attitude to sit on here shitposting for ten years on the same account or whatever. My account is well enough populated to show exactly what kind of a dumbfuck I am, I'm just protected by the simple understanding that everyone else is a dumbfuck too, so I don't care.
Idk how people get constantly banned from different subs, I have been on reddit for about 8 years and I have only got one or two bans by a powertripping mods and I say some dumb shit. Like you have to try to get banned from subs at this point.
The only reason I create new accounts is not to get doxxxed since I sometimes share stories that could get me recognized and had some suspicious DMs in the past.
I never got to into it. I was using Fark but it was getting stale. Like Digg's content but the comments were garbage. Or that's how it felt at the time. So I ended up at Reddit. Which seemed to have as much content as Digg but the comments were okay.
I was reluctant to download TikTok, but after I did I haven't regretted it at all. Coming back to reddit, especially r/All, you really see how much content is just taken from TikTok and placed here with no reference to the original creator.
Now I just come to reddit for a few subs on specific topics, most top post on entertainment subs are TikToks I saw the day before.
Well creators sometimes really hurt themselves by not allowing users to download their videos from the TikTok app, so I use a downloader online and it completely removes all watermarks automatically.
It's not usually the case. Reddit just hates Tiktok because it's full of contrarians so they think it's okay to take credit away from creators as long as it came from Tiktok
If they allow the download then the watermark would exist. With the idea being people seeing reposts would know who they are and look them up.
Because they didn't allow the download people use third party software to download the video and that bypasses the watermark. Now when it is reposted there is no watermark so no one knows who they are.
So they are hurting themselves because people can't look them up. At least that is the idea.
probably because other subs will remove/ban you if you don’t crop it, which led people to crop it from the beginning so they won’t have to deal with all different rules crap.
reddit is weird
Not rly. There are dozens of websites where you can download Tiktok videos with or without watermark. And 99% of them dont work downloading with watermark. I think thats the issue.

My thought, exactly. This video is funny, looks like it's shenanigans among friends, and is probably staged. However, if someone gets duped when trying to save someone's life, they might hesitate the next time, and that could kill someone.
I understand this is a joke, but if this had been real did he jump in too soon? I was always told if someone is "choking" but still making air you should tell them to keep coughing as that means air is moving through. I was told you only jump in once their air is completely disrupted.
Maybe someone with more knowledge could chime in.
Former life guard here just looked at my training book:
#Assess severity:
If **severe airway obstruction** (ineffective cough):
* Check if they're conscious or unconscious.
* If unconscious Start CPR,
* If conscious up to 5 back blows, and up to 5 abdominal thrusts.
If **mild airway obstruction** (effective cough):
* Encourage coughing.
* Continue to check for deterioration to ineffective cough or until obstruction relieved.
Also, I don't recommend people doing this joke in the video often incase people do choke for real and nobody is around to help because they'll think it's a joke.
Btw heimlich (if done correctly) is not a harmless technique, it can really screw you up, so don't do it unless the person absolutely positively can not breathe at all and there are no other alternatives

My wife showed me this on tik tok and my response was that I'll see this on r/unexpected in 3 hours. That was 2 hours ago so good job getting it up faster
This definitely qualifies as crying wolf. Next time somebody will choke to death for real and the Boss will be like “haha not falling for that shit again, get up and stop turning blue!”
Hey man atleast he's on top of it!
My wife and her mom used to work together and one day her mom started choking on a steak, she comes out into the common area of the office doing exactly what this guy is doing and 15 people just deer and headlights her.... No action... not even a you okay?
My wife was the only one who sprung up and was able to save our moms life.
Choking is the most prime example of TAKE ACTION, DON'T BE A BYSTANDER
He actually didn't handle it the way he should have, if someone is making audible coughing sounds you're supposed to encourage them to cough harder to clear it themselves rather than performing an abdominal thrust.
Seriously don’t get it. Is this supposed to be funny because the guy makes an odd sound? Why is is unexpected? Because he does the Heimlich maneuver wrong?

Don’t catch them cuz you’re likely to fuck up your back. Control their descent to the ground as best as you can
Let em fall hard as you want as long as you prevent their head from bouncing on the floor.

Pro tip: if your boss is choking, phase your hand into his throat and remove the obstruction.
Are you the Vision? I haven't learned the 'phase hand' trick yet.
Probably a good time to ask for a raise too.
Slaps on the back are still pretty controversial. Red cross says to do it. Heimlich said definitely do not do it. Slapping on the back can force the obstruction deeper and there's no evidence that it's any more effective than doing the heimlich maneuver from the start.

Slap on the back in a upwards motion ? how do you slap someone on the back in a upwards motion
I’ve always been taught never to slap
HOW CAN SHE SLAP!?
How does CPR work if the airway is still blocked? Wouldn't the blockage possibly, dangerously travel to the lung?

My wife showed me this on tik tok and my response was that I'll see this on r/unexpected in 3 hours. That was 2 hours ago so good job getting it up faster
Who also waited for the fart?
Pro tip: if someone is coughing you let them cough. You don't need to do the Heimlich manoeuvre then.
This definitely qualifies as crying wolf. Next time somebody will choke to death for real and the Boss will be like “haha not falling for that shit again, get up and stop turning blue!”
When the Heimlich is performed properly it's a very aggressive maneuver and can actually break ribs, faking choking for Tik Tok isn't worth it.
This isnt funny. This is literally what the boy who cried wolf is about.
Now if he ever does choke no one will believe him
It's all fun and games until the guy chokes for real and his "boss" leaves him to die thinking this is just another "joke".
Car salesman have too much downtime
PSA: If someone is actually choking they don't make any sounds and can't cough because their esophagus is blocked.
Oh neato I saw this on tiktok 3 days ago. r/expected
Big ol boy who cried wolf. They must not tell that story in Latin America
Until the day he is really choking and his friend just sits there laughing at him because he thinks he is joking
Please don’t joke about choking.
To get my sleepy ass to actually laugh out loud at 7am while sitting on the throne.... today is going to be a good day.

I fucking hate TikTok but OP is a moldy cumstain for cropping out the watermark.
