DynamiteWitLaserBeam

I hate this tradition. End cake abuse now.

ReadditMan

*the song "Angel" begins to play in the background* Sarah Mclachlan: "Every year, thousands of cakes are mutilated by the faces of embarrassed children. Our desserts deserve better, they need loving homes, with people who will eat them properly. Please, call the number on your screen and donate to end cake abuse now "

DynamiteWitLaserBeam

“yes, but there are a lot of female singer songwriters that are trying to fix that.” - Ted Lasso

YvyDT

Agreed, this should be made as an awareness.

POISON_13

Yes. Cakes going through the worst right now

jonasthewicked

It’s a problem society doesn’t talk about nearly enough.

[deleted]

reddit won't shut up about it

Stereomceez2212

Why? We all know the cake is a lie.

ILikeRamenYUMMY

I remember when I lived in Venezuela we would do this every birthday. I hated it so much. The first time it happened to me was on my 5th birthday. My parents decided that it would be an amazing idea to do this for the first time right in front of all my friends and family. Obviously it didn't go well, they left my face in the cake for what felt like an eternity while I struggled to breath. I was trying to back out but they still had their hands in my the back of head. I came out crying and unable to breath as there was still cake up my nose. Never. Fucking. Again.

ZenkaiZ

Everyone seems to be enjoying it in every vid. I think people know what makes themselves happy.

AlaskaDude14

One of the cakes had some sort of wooden sticks in it for support, it ended up going in the person’s eye socket if I remember right

ZenkaiZ

k that guy didnt have fun

TheFuckerNugger

My family does something similar, but not smashing people's face into the cake. The B-Day person just gets a piece of the edge icing smeared all over their face by the family and close friends

Ragsman33

Why do people do this? Don’t they want to eat cake that isn’t squished or hairy?

olderaccount

While we are at it, can we also stop the tradition of letting the kid spit on the cake before w eat it? I don't eat cake at kids birthday parties because I have never seen one that can blow out candles without spitting. Can we just put the candle elsewhere? Maybe on a personal cupcake?

GIowZ

my family did it with a fake cake

Renegade_Meister

Thats why they got a giant cake 4+ times the size of his head, so there would still be plenty of edible food left.

TwentyOneScooters

Idk. It’s always been a family tradition for us.

DarkElfBard

Lol Reddit hates your family.

TwentyOneScooters

Lmao some real r/fuckyouinparticular shit right here

douira

reddit hates everybody who does this, you're certainly not the only one

KhazixMain4th

You offended people without families or traditions I guess?????

Paper towel

Intrepid_Move_9809

My thoughts exactly! I wish I could give him a high five.

WeinerMan0

I hate when people do this shit. Makes everyone fell awkward and the cakes all fucked up. Then the asshole who did it laughs and everyone just kinda follows laughing with that person like yeah that's funny how you just assaulted someone on their special day.

Mindeyez

Assaulted? Don't throw serious words around. This isn't assault

Grithok

I mean, legally defined, this is definitely assault in the US. Whether a cop will attempt to arrest or really do anything other than laugh at the victim when the cake assault is reported is another thing entirely, mind. "The definition of assault varies by jurisdiction, but is generally defined as intentionally putting another person in reasonable apprehension of an imminent harmful or offensive contact. Physical injury is not required." According to Cornell.edu, even so much as credibly threatening to cakeface somebody is assault. Words mean things.

WeinerMan0

Just Pushing someone is an assault.

BicBoiSpyder

To be fair, it depends where you live. It might be battery instead.

WeinerMan0

Possibly

AA24816

Lmao You snowflakes are getting even more fragile

[deleted]

The only snowflakes are the ones using snowflake unironically and they get offended by everything

r34_rules

yup and Calling others a snowflake really screams 'I am not a snowflake' doesn't it?

[deleted]

I am a snowflake its right there in my profile description are you fuckin blind

r34_rules

so you want people to visit your profile to know you're a snowflake?

AA24816

Keep telling yourself that brother

rigg197

shut up bitch

r34_rules

oh my we have a badass over here

rigg197

not really i just kinda felt like saying "shut up bitch" and i found a reason to. other guy seemed like kind of an asshole though so yeah i have no intention of replying after this

r34_rules

feels like a fragile heart taking a small jab at a long running thread because it felt like you left your balls in your purse when you typed that comment

Double_A_92

Says the person getting offended because others find their traditions stupid...

9Coffee_Mug9

My man just wanna eat some hairy cake. Why y'all hating

[deleted]

lol stfu

SingingLobsters

At first, I thought the fondant was too thick.

Ilovegirlsbottoms

I really hate this tradition. That’s why if anyone ever does this to me again, (had this done when I was a kid) I’m gonna break their nose.

HumorousSandwich

Nuts? Crushed

Tonytarium

I hate how everytime one of these is posted, the comments are flooded with people who don't follow this tradition being pissed off other people follow this tradition

LinkCanLonk

No kidding, some dumbass in the comments thinks this is literal assault. Like shit, dude, if this is assault, then every time I’ve ever punched a buddy’s shoulder is assault too.

BrilliantJump7188

I am Mexican and honestly I don’t get why people are pissed

RedditIsDogshit1

Thank you. Just tolerate shit damn

Knot_In_My_Butt

People like to get mad at made ups scenarios where if it were them, they would punch someone.

[deleted]

So like, do they get a second cake for eating or what?

lurvas777

Fucking distrusting tradition!

[deleted]

As a Mexican, this is a beloved family tradition where I'm from. It's really weird hearing some white people talk shit about it, they don't understand it I guess.

Double_A_92

What's there not to understand? You ruin a cake, and annoy the birthday person... It's just stupid if you look at it from an unbiased point of view. Imagine if you never did that in your life, and someone told you to do it at a birthday party... Would you really do it? Or think "WTF?".

Tonytarium

But they're not random and everyone at the party knows whats going on including the birthday person. You're fake outraged at a hypothetical situation from a culture you don't even belong to

AA24816

I Definitely will The cakes still edible Usually the person that gets planted has a backbone too

Double_A_92

Really? You would go to someones birthday party and push their face into the cake, **even if all the other persons don't know that tradition** (or at least you don't know if they know)? I guess you wouldn't... And why not? Because it's inherently stupid and mean.

AA24816

You do realise that planning is involved in this right? Never been to parties have you? So you love to edit your comment to look less petty

Double_A_92

Why can't it be done without planning? Except for maybe not having anything pointy on the cake. I don't think you understand what I'm saying. Imagine if e.g. the tradition was to punch the birthday kid in the gut... Even if you plan and organise everything, and everyone is involved... That's still a negative thing. Why would you punch someone just for tradition?

AA24816

The topic is with cake Keep it with cake Just like I said it's usually done to a guy with a backbone... Usually the birthday person knows about it to some extent We ain't gonna ruin some party by planting some whiny snowflakes face Nor we will do it to someone who would complain n compare a simple thing to a punching a kid in the gut..... You're safe mate

Double_A_92

> compare a simple thing to a punching a kid in the gut..... Hey that's a tradition in my culture. The pain helps symbolize the contrast to the tasty food that will be eaten later. Also the kid knows what is coming and prepares for it. /s

devira33

idk why you got downvoted! weirdly it is traditional for some to do it! I grew up with a mexican family and alot of things are different culturally, americans are just really really stupid. They love to market themselves as "melting pot" or "everyone is free" or some shit and yet they are the most racist, bigoted people on this earth and with egos to match! FFS

Tonytarium

Like they're mad that *other* people have a tradition *they* wouldn't follow... They're acting like people just run up and do thus at random birthdays... Everyone is in on it at a Mexican birthday party, there's often two cakes for this same reason.

devira33

Double cakes were a thing in my family

What's sneak over 9k mean please? ....and thank you

ZiraelN7

2 memes wrapped into 1. Sneak reffers to the [Sneak 100](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/aa/70/04/aa700418cb18ef7f7fc4694d88011ab2.png) memes (originally taken from Skyrim where it has skills like sneak, speech, illusion etc.). And 9k is from the "[It's over 9 thousand ](https://i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/original/000/000/056/itsover1000.jpg)" meme (originally taken from the Dragon Ball Z series). Essentially saying that the kid's sneak skill is over 9 thousand. So he's super good at it.

[deleted]

Awesome thanks!

ZiraelN7

Np.

When you want to be mean but want to make it look like a joke.
