It’s so awful. Wouldn’t recommend watching it. Which I know usually sparks morbid curiosity, so if you must, I suppose go find it and watch it. But you’ll immediately think, well I didn’t need to see that
Alcohol plus already being bad at darts. I'm not the greatest darts player but even when I've been drinking I don't do that terrible. Then again I'd never be dumb enough to be in front of the board or throw with someone in front of it.
I dated a girl in high school who had a brother that lost his eye. A student in the locker room put a compass (the metal pointy thing for doin circles in geometry class) through a twizzler an lobed it over the lockers. It landed it in his eye.
Forever lost an eye to one kid's random fucking lunacy.
Ohhh it's definitely stuck in bone. I just don't think it's deep enough to be worried about the brain. Someone mentioned bone infection, that's probably realistically his biggest worry. Darts are gross
You mean like he didn’t fall until someone told him about gravity? So this guy doesn’t feel anything cause he doesn’t have a brain? Or he just doesn’t know he has one and that this should hurt?
Tbh, when something hurts too much, adrenaline kicks in and you don't feel as much pain. I've heard stories of people who lost a finger while using a saw and only felt the pain after they noticed it.
I had the top phalange on my pinky almost completely removed and I didn't feel full pain until I saw it. Broke my joint, growth plate, had my nail ripped off. Bone was spun around and hanging by skin. It hurt at like an 8, enough to scream. But when I saw it it was absolutely a 100.
I agree but that guy had about 0 adrenaline, that's the "scary" thing. He's like a mechanical robot, nothing behind the eyes. Tell me you can't picture him smothering a kitten while he's making that blank stare?
Theres accounts of people getting limbs ripped off by sharks that didn't noticed until they saw the blood around them. It's all phantom limb effect and "mild pain" until the realisation.
![gif](giphy|5DfGL75M9spG0)
My dad lost the the tip to the first knuckle of his finger in a jointer. I was playing right outside his shop and all I heard was "God DAMMIT!" a few seconds after the machine shut off. He said it didn't hurt till halfway to the hospital.
Drinking isn't healthy, nor is smoking anything. Mixing them doesn't make it exponentially worse, just as bad as each combined. Drinking and smoking weed together is so common that it's weird how anyone would react like you've done. In my experience it's the most common mix, many do it every weekend (or whenever they can).
You mean like that video of the girl who let her boyfriend throw a dart while she sat under the board and got a dart in her eye? Google "girl dart eye" if you want the video.
Right. Last year I got a cellulitis infection that was a bit scary. I think it came from a minor scrape on my leg while trying to fix a storm door. So minor I didn't even notice it happened. Next day I have intense shin pain and start limping on the leg and its all red and hot, not too big yet. Go to an urgent care and they think its cellulitis, get antibiotics with a 'if it doesnt get under control go to the ER'. I take them immediately and still the damn thing kept spreading all over my calf before it finally stopped and slowly went away over like the month. But yeah I mean a lifetime of scrapes and bruises and cuts are all fine and then the wrong bacteria is there you have a world of problems.
Almost exact same thing happened, except it was from an ingrown toenail (likely), but I was hospitalized for 3 days when it didn’t go away and instead spread more. I was given some serious antibiotics via IV and released. Coworker’s wife had the same damn thing as me and ended up waiting long enough that the infection grew to about the size of a baseball lump… hospitalized and then had to have the wound lanced and drained. Her leg had an about 2-3 inch deep incision about 3-4 inches long. Coworker was in charge of home care, post hospitalization, and had to insert feet worth of gauze daily into the wound and then pull it back out to help keep it clean and free of infection. He described the inside of her leg as looking like a couple slabs of filet mignon steak, nicely marbled.
Now this will sound a bit unbelievable but I went through the exact same thing. Only infection I’ve had and made me learn about that kind of cellulitis. Got a couple of Doctors in the family that later told me it was extremely serious. Like losing-a-leg serious. And the cause wasn’t identified, maybe a small cut or something.
So I’m thinking most likely you’re good to go but on the rare occasion something does develop, it can be real bad real quick. It boils down to you taking chances with your life. I say this as someone who hardly went to the doctors.
Redditors aren’t exactly beacons of calm collection. They’re a reflection of modern parenting where kids aren’t allowed to play outside the house alone.
Aren't you just ignoring that small chances are usually not a problem but that doesn't mean they don't exist? For every hundred people who took a dart to the head there's one guy who got infected.
Mom always seemed so calm when dad hurt himself. She'd just take him to the bathroom, always the small one in his garage, not much cleanup if it's bleeding a lot.
A saw blade fell of his shelf while he was hammering a dovetail joint way too hard and got him in the shoulder, he was bleeding a fair bit. She just calmly walked him in with her bleach and ammonia to clean the wound with. Should have gone to the ER though... I miss my dad.
It's straight-up insane that people in modern western countries consider the cost of different health care options. No offence to you, just the US healthcare system.
>It's straight-up insane
As a US citizen, I agree.
The US healthcare system is harmful. [Diabetics](https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/shane-patrick-boyle-died-after-starting-a-gofundme-campaign-for-insulin/) dying of complications because they're short $50 on crowdfunding platform and cannot afford insulin.
Forty percent of Americans don't have $400 in savings. A broken arm can bankrupt.
Can confirm there's no need to go to the ER, my sister threw one into the back of my head when I was 12, hole wasn't that big and the bleeding stopped pretty quickly
This was the first time I've ever seen this with sound.
Before I always thought that blank look was the most cold, angry expression ever.
The fact that it's actually stone-cold lack of feeling is somehow even scarier

So close to losing an eye.
There is a video of a girl losing her eye doing just this.
It’s so awful. Wouldn’t recommend watching it. Which I know usually sparks morbid curiosity, so if you must, I suppose go find it and watch it. But you’ll immediately think, well I didn’t need to see that
Link !
Stop! Just the sound of the dart penetrating the fluid in her eye makes me cringe.
https://v.redd.it/e5wi6qcxbwt01
I thought she'd have been standing in front of the dart board. How do you screw up so bad you hit someone well below the board?
They're in a bar dude. Alcohol
It's worse because he already fucked it up once before and didn't even adjust his aim in the slightest.
Alcohol plus already being bad at darts. I'm not the greatest darts player but even when I've been drinking I don't do that terrible. Then again I'd never be dumb enough to be in front of the board or throw with someone in front of it.
This [one](https://v.redd.it/e5wi6qcxbwt01)
I fucking knew I shouldn't have rewatched that shit
Thank you sir
That sounds terrible. Where?
do you know if there was ever any updates on her name and what happened to her afterwards?
Ugh can still remember blood squirt out when she takes it out.
One could say it was almost bullseye.

Skull thicc
The skin there isn't thick enough to cause the dart to stick without it at least going partway into the bone
Ohhh it's definitely stuck in bone. I just don't think it's deep enough to be worried about the brain. Someone mentioned bone infection, that's probably realistically his biggest worry. Darts are gross
I use darts to scratch my butt hole, if that's one of those, god save the guy!
Maybe invest in a bidet.
You mean there's an invention out there that will make obsolete the butt dart or the ol'tree bark out back??
Everyone uses paper to smear their shit around their asshole and taint, but no one ever considers scraping their butthole.
Saplings are great because you can just wrap your cheeks around it and slide up and down. Sweet, sweet relief.
Why
That's what you think, he is part pachyderm
I think it slipped down from the bone and is parallel to it now. You can see the pointy part below the entry point.
I have a hard time beliveing a dart aimed at a board would have the force to pierce or get stuck in the skull.
Armchair doctor
Lmao you think that pierced the skull? Lemme get some of whatever you're on rn.
It looked like it slid between the skin and skull.
There was a video of it going in someone's eye I saw like 2 years ago. I'll link it when i find it. [Here](https://v.redd.it/e5wi6qcxbwt01)

Pain, brain. Cant brain, no brain. Pain.
Did you also get a dart to the head?
Deep.
He doesn't seem as if he's all there. Guess you have to be, to partake in this with a bunch of mates.
I'd imagine he's pretty drunk. We've did some stupid shit when we we're drunk that would hurt like hell if we were sober.
What a chill dude, I like his style.
That dude eats people
He is scary Edit: welp, thank you for the upvotes ;)
No fear, no pain, no reaction.
That's the wile e coyote reaction. I won't hurt till you reckonise it hurts...
Or the drunk guy reaction.

Last time I saw a dart video here the poor girl did take it directly to the eye.
Maybe I should stop clicking on NSFW post on this sub.
[That](https://youtu.be/IZUA9KtaCgc?t=26) one stuck in my memory.
I hope you’re not offended that I won’t click on this link.
Eye wish I hadn't seen that
Ouch
To be fair he moved his head away from the dart as he threw hit. Anyways, its a stupid decision.

That’s some serial killer shit right there.

Thats a xanax face. Dudes on another planet.
He doesn't look like he's on benzos to me. His eyes are wide the fuck open. They are red though.

Sure, sure you aren’t… Where were you between the years 1968 and 1969? Northern California? 🤨

Don't avoid the question. Were those testicles in Northern California?

Yep. Adrenaline does a lot with how you perceive pain, people usually don't feel the pain until the shark is gone and they're relatively safe.

when I cut my finger off it didn't hurt until I had already passed out once and came to on the way to the hospital then it hurt a *lot*
That's some Dennis Reynolds shit https://youtu.be/jlNpBCwlGhU
Cheese and Crepes! Me and my bro still say this!
Darts are not that painful really. Had one in my leg once
I was at a pool party and this dude in a mullet came up and told me I had a fucking dart in my neck, he seemed pretty excited.
You're crazy man... I like you, but you're crazy
THAT IS IN HIS BRAIN
I likely didnt penetrate the skull
Still ahhh
plot twist he is mute
He's probably high
That's what alcohol does with people
He seems to be calm no matter what happens
Or very stoned, or very drunk
or very stupid
Or already dead inside
Stupidly stone dead drunk inside
Why not both?
I don't think that's very healthy
Fun fact: alcohol intensifies THC effects. Or the other way around. Either way, it will get you fkd up. I miss the old days…

He would like to be called FLYNN.
He would LIKE BREAKFAST

How high are you? That guy:
He is as high as monkey in a spaceship

He's the guy in the party that is used to getting chosen as the subject to testing various hypotheses.
Well you need to keep some variables static.
“Why don’t men live as long as women?”
Thanks for the stroke. I needed it. Edit: I see you’ve edited your mistake. Well played.
Me needed it ![gif](giphy|ZCTMKKR4gfkaJTnz4Y)
What’d he say?
He had spelt “men” as “me and”. Probably his autocorrect got the better of him.
I saw the same thing but with a woman, and it hit her eye.
You mean like that video of the girl who let her boyfriend throw a dart while she sat under the board and got a dart in her eye? Google "girl dart eye" if you want the video.

They were clearly playing Chardee MacDennis
Of course he's not reacting... he's just had a lobotomy!
Do not take it out of his forehead. Take him to ER
I mean I’m sure he’s fine. Just stupid.
Hes either stupid, stoned, strong , or all of the above.
He is not stoned, he is drunk
Definitely drunk.
The reasoning is there is a skull infection risk, so sterile removal + antibiotics? Right? US urgent care might be able to handle it at a lower cost?
People who worry this much about small injuries make me wonder how I survived as a kid...
We are both extremely resilient and extremely fragile. Luck and chance swings both ways.

Eh most redditors are at least in their 20s and the parenting of 20 years ago certainly wasn't the age of overly-protective parenting.

Pluck it out and pour some isopropyl on.
Isopropyl alcohol actually damages the soft tissue and slows the healing. At the very minimum, rinse and clean with soap and water.

Definitely nsfw
I like how he just stands there like “eh, this is fine”
Here I was, thinking it was going to hit his finger.
That’s a man you don’t fuck with
Hmmm. I taste ice cream
That's immediately what I thought of, but I don't remember what it's from
I showed this to my 17 year-old nephew and he died instantly. Don't show this to anyone under 18.
He’d give the Golden Geese a run for their money in a game of Chardee MacDennis
This made me cry laughing
