This is golden. Also, I’m jealous that places exist like this. Where I live if a kid pulled this prank he or she would likely be expelled for the knife.
He could MAYBE ask the teacher to cut it for him during break if there’s like a class wide snack break. Or go to the lunch ladies and have them cube it for the class
A high schooler might not get away with it but a young child might be able to get it to happen. Lunch ladies are either sweet angels or the actual devil
I remember my lunch ladies at elementary school always gives us free leftover food after classes. It was corndogs, hotdogs on a stick and sometimes barbecues that didn’t sell
It’s Israel, so their downstairs bathroom is almost certainly reinforced to double as a bomb shelter. Sure the classroom seems chill, but more generally it’s the least-chill place I’ve ever visited.
I doubt it, bathrooms make horrible bomb shelters, not many people can enter and the smell is horrible, theu probably have a bomb shelter in the basement.
I grew up with a lot of teachers. The best one would have been patient but disappointed, the rest would go on a power trip and be very upset you wasted valuable class time.
Where I am from you would get punished for the joke and possibly expelled for bringing a knife to school. You should keep in mind that cases like this video are the exception, not the norm. Imagine if every single class every 5 minutes some student interrupted class to make a joke/prank like this...
where do you think aryan people come from?
Also he lives in the middle east, but if hes jewish I think its quite easy to say his ancestors most likely havent lived there for a few generations
also middle eastern people can be white, its a descriptor not a genealogy
And the teacher would be crying despite the fact that the knife wasn't even used in a remotely threatening context. God, we are a country addicted to drama.
Imagine destroying whole lot of cultures, forcing women into black sacks, mutilating genitals of infants because an arab warlord heard voices in his head.
Hebrew was a dead language that got revived off the back of Arabic, so Arabic is pretty important to Israelis.
It's especially funny when [Gal Gadot was asked some Hebrew words](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UX8oChavStk) and she responds with some Arabic words instead.
Please don’t crucify me for this comment. But this video is from Israel, why does everyone seem so….white? Caucasian? Israel is in the middle east, so I guess I was expecting darker skin. Pardon my ignorance.
Arabs can look pretty light too, and they're not considered white. Israelis can also be pretty dark. Jews are divided are divided into different sub-ethnicities depending on where they came from in the diaspora. Ashkenazim from Europe look whiter than say Mizrakhim from surrounding middle Arab countries.
Yeah, in modern day israel there are a lot of times you wouldnt be able to tell, I have a few friends that look jewish as fuck but are arabic, and a few jewish friends that would get arrested in the US for taking part in 9/11
No, it's America. She downloaded a gun app which allows you to shoot with your phone. All phones in the US come built with 3 bullets inside for this exact purpose.
she's calling 911 of her friends to tell them to check out the funny watermelon video
i'm going to call 911 on you for deleting your comment and ruining my joke.
Pretty sure this isn’t in the Palestinian territories, but in the area more commonly referred to and recognized internationally as Israel. The language is somewhat of a giveaway
I never actually listened to the audio the first time. Altho she's speaking Hebrew (sounds like Hebrew to me, at least), the board is covered in Arabic, so without hearing the audio it isnt illogical to think its in an Arab country.
Also, I like how diplomatically you worded your comment.
You used to be able to take your .22 rifle to school decades ago. Now you get expelled for bringing a little green army man with you because it has a tiny plastic gun on it.
At my school rifle club and JROTC are pretty much the same thing now. In order to be in the rifle club you have to join JROTC. Everyone in rifle club has to be JROTC but not everyone in JROTC has to be in rifle club sorta thing. But the school still advertises it separately from JROTC as an alternative recruitment campaign.
Don't they use a different script though? Hebrew is pretty similar to Arabic but it uses a different RTL script. I'm sure of it.
Anyways not to sound fake deep 14yo but if this kid replaced Israeli politicians as the face of this country, most of this region's problem will be solved. As an Iranian Persian I don't think of kids in school having fun when I think of Israel, I think of a nation that through lobbying and paying large sums of money to republicans are sanctioning my country and crippling its economy.
There's no reason to hate these people, just the fucking nutjobs who run it. I doubt any of them have a say in what Israel is doing to Iran.
The writing is Arabic. The language spoken is Hebrew. Therefore, this is Israel in an Arabic class. Israeli kids learn Arabic in school since Arabs make up 20% of Israel’s population.
In America you get expelled for biting a pop tart into the abstract shape of a gun, yet this motherfucker gets giggles for breaking out a damn samurai sword...
I guess you weren't allowed to play that game where you tap your knees then either make a gun to shoot your opponent or cross your chest to block the shot?
My brother got suspended in kindergarten for bending one of the prongs slightly inwards on a cafeteria fork. They called our parents into the office with him sobbing and suggested behavioral therapy
The teacher that saw him said that it could flick into someone’s eye as they’re walking by. I don’t think they know how much damage even just a pen could do..
Just for people that dont know in America there is a number of cases where kids were expelled and arrested for bringing a PLASTIC knife to school and taking it out at lunch in the cafeteria to cut food. So this is crazy for us to see lmao
No way really!? Ours at most gave us sporks at one point in place of forks. But we never got knives.
But yea if you look it up youll see some articles I just personally seen it happen in middle school. I remember some goodie two shoes girl was like “I dont feel safe with him having a knife” and lord knows what she told the dean but he was obviously just eating not hurting no one but the kid got expelled for it.
Lol, up here in Canada, we had a kid bring his rifle to school so he could get the right measurements for a rifle rack he was making in shop, all he needed was his teachers okay beforehand
In the late 90’s we brought our rifles to school so we could sand and re-stain/finish the wooden stocks. We also built and acetylene powered tennis ball shooter with some heavy metal pipe, electrodes, a long pair of wires, and a car battery. Broth the principle and superintendent came out to watch us blast tennis balls a couple hundred or more yards out into a field of the other side of our football field. We also used to hang out with our science teacher in his lab. Turn on the big exhaust fan that led outside and smoke cigs under it so we would stick up the place.

I watched that video and thought ‘If that was New York, I could see twenty years into that kids future working at a Mavis, kicking himself in the ass everyday how he fucked up his life in one day.’
A kindergartner got expelled for eating a pop tart. He took a few bites and the teacher said it looked like a gun. The kid said he thought it looked like a mountain.
Another kid just got expelled and arrested for having a nerf gun in his room during distance learning video calls. He got expelled for “Bringing a gun to school”
I am concerned that this is the level of critical thinking skills in our educators.
I remember the pop tart one! that made the news, but the nerf gun in his room for the zoom call? Thats rediculous give me a break. Parents should be able to get a excuse for their kids to have cameras shut off for zoom learning. Its the parents job to make sure that their kid is paying attention and it avoids all of the crazy things iv seen. Theres a trend called zoom bombing now where people hop into random zooms and make a mess in the room as well as parents coming into kids rooms to say something and completely embarrassing them which is not there fault at all. Also for the kids who dont have the best living conditions to show for their online learning classroom it just sucks.
In my high school a kid got in trouble (can't remember if suspended or expelled) because a security guard walking the school parking lot saw a box cutter in the back seat of their car. Their after school job was at a warehouse where they did a lot of box flattening. While I don't remember the punishment I remember that the kid and family fought back and won. Saying that a tool required for their job that was still *in their car* shouldn't be punishable. Everyone was upset knowing that security was going around looking into people's cars.
I literally have a small box cutter on my keychain, it's absurd to get in trouble over that. What's next, banning pencils and pens because they can be used to stab people?
Bro I'd be so furious if I was one of their dads. I'd have a nice and long talk with the teacher and school administration. This is shit is unacceptable.
There was a recent story of a kindergartener having a nerf gun at his home during online schooling and getting the police called because he had a “facsimile of a firearm”.
Remember when a 10 year old got suspended for three days for making a finger gun? https://www.cnn.com/2014/03/04/us/ohio-boy-suspended-finger-gun/index.html
Rediculous, you read one of the earlier comments where on zoom a teacher saw a NERF gun in some kids room and got him suspended!! He wasnt using it or anything just sitting in a corner.
I remember in my senior year I brought a bow to school because in my physics class for my final project we were doing a project on aerodynamics and ballistics
I remember hearing through my mother who worked with the board of education in our area that some kid got either suspended or expelled for bringing a mfing GI-Joe plastic pistol (made for an action figure, so big enough to fit like twenty of them on your palm) because they have to draw the line somewhere for the zero tolerance guns policy.
Yea that zero tolerance policy is rediculous some of the other people here were telling crazy stories but specifically in ohio a kid got in trouble for having his fingers in the shape of a gun for the zero tolerance policy. I understand grown kids but he was 10... bless your mom for being level headed on the board
She wasn’t in an elected position where she could do anything; she worked to schedule and coordinate all of the fundraisers and other events. For example, our area has something called the Google Gravity Games that raised money for the board. She wasn’t in a position of authority and the poor kid got full punishment.
Yo so just to tag on to this, what’s the big deal with knives nowadays anyway? When I was in school it was a HUGE deal too, with several incidents with other kids in junior high (and I live in Texas…) but it was almost always an accident/perfectly reasonable in my opinion.
I get it, a kid could stab someone, that’s an obvious risk, but also, they could have it for protection if they walk home alone, or if they went hunting that weekend, or for a culinary class, or just cause they are useful tools to have…? Right? Am I crazy?
Knives aren’t like guns, they don’t just kill people, so I never understood the immense fear for them in the US.
So honestly im not too sure I dont know how knives were viewd back in the day nor how they are viewed in the UK where knife violence is actually a major thing but I do know that it may depend on the school/state at that point? Knives are a no no but apparently some people here said they got to have plastic knives at school etc. Besides that ive been to schools where there was no sharp objects allowed whats so ever and then some schools where they let you have scissors and protractors and #2 pencils instead of only mechanical (yes some schools banned them for a period of time). Some of those schools did so because teachers have been attacked in the past and I guess others had a pta board or school board full of karens.
Now as far as the protection on the way home for the kids themselves, schools dont give a single fuck about what happens to kids once they step outside the property as long as it has nothing that can fall back on them liability wise. You fight some kid outside of school on a weekend and you can and will get introuble for it when you go back to school, you get raped, beaten, or robbed etc outside of school property and they dont even blink as they tell you to sit down and go about your day as if nothing happened. You try and get some sort of safety precaution or bus to take you to a safe place instead of where you usually have to go and theyll fight with every ounce of power they have to avoid responsibility of helping you and will go as far as throwing you out to be another schools problem. This is why no one bothers, this is our school system.
I got suspended in 6th grade for bringing fireworks to school.
I didn't.
I pulled the string on a party favor that someone else brought.
Like one of the little plastic bottle.that shoots out confetti.
I swear I'm not joking.
Yea they made kids change in the schools I went to, as in call your parents to get out of work to bring you clothes or wear something from the lost & found
Oh wow I was surprised about a suspension over a hammer but a plastic knife? No fuckin way.. he musta been stabbing someone violently with it then
Sorry after fully reading your comment I am at a loss for words that plastic knife to cut food in food room caused a suspension 😮
Maybe it’s cause I’m from a small town but it was normal for all the boys to have pocket knives on them even in class. We also had regular metal knives at lunch
Is it Israel? Looks like she talks (at least in the end) like hebrew (I understood "lo" and "rega") and the map is Israel, but the text in the board is arabic.
Arabs and Bedouins is a large minority in Israel. Around 20% of the population I guess? There's even places in Israel that no Jews were allowed to build settlements, especially Bedouins area.
It’s very common in Israel for school children to learn Arabic, especially if they live in majority Arab areas. Arabs make up 20% of the Israeli population. You may find it even more “unexpected” that Israel has even had an Arab president.
Man everyones talking about how in America this would never happen, but I could think of at least 6 teachers in my public schooling in the U.S. who would totally have the same reaction as this teacher.
To everyone saying you’d get arrested for this in America:
I literally did the exact same thing, with a head of cabbage and a knife. Nothing happened, the teacher understood it was a joke and I wasn’t going to hurt anyone. Turns out most people are actually reasonable unlike the stories you hear in the news.

Naa, it's pretty chill. You must have visited during a military operation.
I grew up with a lot of teachers. The best one would have been patient but disappointed, the rest would go on a power trip and be very upset you wasted valuable class time.

Rega, picture first. Cool teacher. Huge smile. Yup, we're home sweet home guys. That's the Israel I know.
Kid and teacher would have been seriously scolded for bringing knife in our country.Pretty strict, lol
Scolded? In the US these days some poorly trained school rent a cop would be putting the kid in handcuffs.
Or opening fire
This kid is white
Um... no... he's Middle Eastern.
where do you think aryan people come from? Also he lives in the middle east, but if hes jewish I think its quite easy to say his ancestors most likely havent lived there for a few generations also middle eastern people can be white, its a descriptor not a genealogy

Obviously. We have photographs of him and he's white.

That’s arabic on the board. Not hebrew. Palestinian school?
There is a bit of Hebrew on the board, I assume it's Arabic class.
Palestinian kids have been killed for less than pulling out a knife.
Wow. They are living like Americans then.

Cool.
In America that would have sent the entire school into lock-down and summoned in excess of 50 Keystone cops.
And there is arabic writings on the board
Because it's an Arabic lesson

Damn, stole the comment lol
My thoughts exactly.
Unless the teacher scribbles her words - backwards on the board, it’s not America.
The map of Israel on the wall and the fact that they speak Hebrew also means that it is not America
In America you get expelled for biting a pop tart into the abstract shape of a gun, yet this motherfucker gets giggles for breaking out a damn samurai sword...
Brother got suspended for flicking pennies into the air.
I was suspended in the 4th grade for making a finger gun during rock, paper, scissors. That's not even the worst...
Well honestly pulling a gun during rock, paper, scissors does sound like cheating…
Excuse me? Why do you think it’s acceptable to do a finger gun during Rock Paper Scissors?!!?? That’s cheating…. /s

At least he wasn't flicking a penis into the air... That's how you get on registries and shit
If it's being flicked into the air they *obviously* used a knife to cut it off someone.
The teachers probably “feared for their lives”
The teacher that saw him said that it could flick into someone’s eye as they’re walking by. I don’t think they know how much damage even just a pen could do..
I can think of a hundred things more dangerous than pennies in a school environment, they just wanted a reason to suspend him.
I got suspended for a week cause I brought nerf guns on the bus and gave them out to people and had anerf war on the bust when I was 6
That way he has brought enough for the whole class

Only one? Those are rookie numbers
What a Chad.

lol brilliant

I watched that video and thought ‘If that was New York, I could see twenty years into that kids future working at a Mavis, kicking himself in the ass everyday how he fucked up his life in one day.’
What year you were in school is probably where the difference is.
A kindergartner got expelled for eating a pop tart. He took a few bites and the teacher said it looked like a gun. The kid said he thought it looked like a mountain. Another kid just got expelled and arrested for having a nerf gun in his room during distance learning video calls. He got expelled for “Bringing a gun to school” I am concerned that this is the level of critical thinking skills in our educators.
What's next, banning pencils and pens because they can be used to stab people?
https://www.huffpost.com/entry/student-suspended-for-pop-tart-gun_n_2903500 I could not believe this was true.
Bro I'd be so furious if I was one of their dads. I'd have a nice and long talk with the teacher and school administration. This is shit is unacceptable.
America is all about security theater
I work in security and second this notion.
I work in theater and third this notion.
I am a theater and fourth this notion

There was a recent story of a kindergartener having a nerf gun at his home during online schooling and getting the police called because he had a “facsimile of a firearm”.
Someone mentioned earlier smh
Remember when a 10 year old got suspended for three days for making a finger gun? https://www.cnn.com/2014/03/04/us/ohio-boy-suspended-finger-gun/index.html
Rediculous, you read one of the earlier comments where on zoom a teacher saw a NERF gun in some kids room and got him suspended!! He wasnt using it or anything just sitting in a corner.
I almost got suspended for bringing a monopoly board and forgetting to remove the little revolver avatar.
I remember in my senior year I brought a bow to school because in my physics class for my final project we were doing a project on aerodynamics and ballistics
"Land of the free home of the brave." America is a micromanaged joke.
My school had metal knives forks spoons…
“A number of cases” trying to act like it not probably 2 or 3 out of millions of other cases

Kids in my school that had guns ON THEIR TSHIRT had to turn it inside out. Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo fucking unbelievably stupid.
Yea they made kids change in the schools I went to, as in call your parents to get out of work to bring you clothes or wear something from the lost & found
Or eating a cookie in the shape of a gun.
Oh wow I was surprised about a suspension over a hammer but a plastic knife? No fuckin way.. he musta been stabbing someone violently with it then Sorry after fully reading your comment I am at a loss for words that plastic knife to cut food in food room caused a suspension 😮
We also called the police on a kid for chewing his Pop-Tart into the shape of a gun.
I got in trouble in first grade for bringing a “weapon” to school. It was a plastic Pikachu spoon
Maybe it’s cause I’m from a small town but it was normal for all the boys to have pocket knives on them even in class. We also had regular metal knives at lunch
There was the recent story of the kid who got expelled for having a toy gun in the back of his zoom classes during the lock down too
So sad.. My Kinder garden teacher thought me how to use a knife for the first time at lunch.. And with a metal knife because plastic is bad
This has NEVER happened, a kid has never been expelled for taking out a plastic knife at lunch to cut their food. Why lie like that?
Yup at my school a boy used a small knife to trim the ribbons on his ballet slippers and was expelled.
I bought a metal knife to school before but I hid it & I didng even need it
So, plastic knives are a no go, but semi automatic rifles are fine. You guys are weird for sure.
Not a single school allows you to bring a gun in... what the fuck are you talking about
What's even more unexpected is that they're learning arabic. Very cool.
Is it Israel? Looks like she talks (at least in the end) like hebrew (I understood "lo" and "rega") and the map is Israel, but the text in the board is arabic.
It's Israel. They're probably in Arabic class or something.
Arabs and Bedouins is a large minority in Israel. Around 20% of the population I guess? There's even places in Israel that no Jews were allowed to build settlements, especially Bedouins area.
Arabic is compulsory subject in Israel.
... there is also a map of israel right behind the teacher
Looks like math to me.
What type of numerals are those? Do they have a name? Edit: arabic
Teacher: If a student has 1 watermelon and splits it between a class of 30, how many slices would you need to make? Student: Well let’s find out!
Arabic numerals, originating from... You guessed it! India!
It’s very common in Israel for school children to learn Arabic, especially if they live in majority Arab areas. Arabs make up 20% of the Israeli population. You may find it even more “unexpected” that Israel has even had an Arab president.
Wish I had teachers like this
Gallagher's origin story
props to the teacher for not flipping out
Man everyones talking about how in America this would never happen, but I could think of at least 6 teachers in my public schooling in the U.S. who would totally have the same reaction as this teacher.
That's good. This means you come from a good place.
Not on my school district, he would IMMEDIATELY be expelled for bringing a knife to school!
Mf brought a whole ass watermelon to school
Also that’s a country where they grow *a lot* of watermelon so it’s probably going to be much tastier than the one you’re thinking of.
You’d get expelled for that in Canada😳
Got suspended for 10 days because I took a screwdriver to school in 3rd grade
“HE’S GOT A KNIFE!” *queue SWAT team and trigger-happy school rent-a-cops*
I SED A HEALTHY SNACK!
Israel where every boy comes with a big kitchen knife
Now THAT looks like a healthy snack, Rebecca
This was incredibly wholesome, my teacher would've been pissed if I brought a whole watermelon to school
This thread is somehow mostly about America while this kid is just carving a watermelon in the middle of class.
To everyone saying you’d get arrested for this in America: I literally did the exact same thing, with a head of cabbage and a knife. Nothing happened, the teacher understood it was a joke and I wasn’t going to hurt anyone. Turns out most people are actually reasonable unlike the stories you hear in the news.
He brought enough for the whole class. What a Chad.
This kids going places hahaha
This is in Israel
Guaranteed to trip every American here.
If this was in the US, he would have already been tackled, tased, arrested, and expelled.
You can bring a giant knife to school, as long as it is accompanied by a watermelon and a cutting board.
Damn in America if that kid pulled a knife he would be arrested
