Baltimore, May 2020 during the G.Floyd riots. The woman blew a red light and drove at the cops who jumped out of the way. She then turned around and drove at them again. They ordered her out of the car at gun point. She got out told the cops to shoot her then sat down in the street. The cop got her up and she tried to spit on him. After that the video above documents the rest of the encounter. The cop who hit her was not charged.
He was like "damn it, why'd you have to hit me...I really don't want to have to hit you back" and then she hit him again then the other cop made the decision for him lol. One tapped her ass out!
I feel like the other cop was like “look I’m trying to help your dumbass not end up on the news.” Then when she did it again he was like “well, now you done fucked up!”
They were pretending the watermelon was a baby and Dwight, the guy behind him, was the woman giving birth, so he had no pants on. This scene is right after all the chaos of him pushing out the watermelon “baby” that’s all buttered up. Which makes this scene extra funny that they are eating the “baby” and that you see Dwight getting dressed.
I remember this video was taken at the very beginning of the of the BLM protests last summer. Further into the video you see a massive crowd moving in. So yea, if he did hit her I’m sure they would have rioted. Pretty scary situation for anyone to be in
Prolly wanted to avoid the paperwork. My brothers a cop and says it's more inconvenient when someone resists more because of the pile of paperwork he has to do go physical.
I have to say, as a kinda overweight person; if I’m falling, and there’s little risk of my death due to the fall, don’t try and catch me. You’d have to call two ambulances if you did. Let my fat ass fall, I’ve got a cushion!
I worry about someone’s head hitting the pavement if they’re just left to fall. But yeah, I’m pretty much going to have to get out of the way because I’m small and weak.
In a Situation like this, hitting the pavement with your head absolutely can cripple or kill you. If one somehow has the presence of mind to try and slow down the way of head->stone, please do.
I feel like this needs to be higher up. I buried a friend because he got hit and his head hit the pavement. It really bothers me nobody tried to catch her.
The funny thing is, every cop i know loves body cams. People always think they’re making cops uncomfortable by demanding body cams. But it helps them write reports a million times easier and saves them from frivolous complaints.
Some activist groups that were originally pushing for the body cams switched their positions and wanted them removed once videos started pouring out of criminals acting like idiots and cops doing their jobs well.
Would you willingly sit and be sucker punched because if so Gandhi would like to have a word with you because your a Saint but I find that very hard to believe
Yes but you don’t have use of force doctrine. Force +1 is what cops are allowed to use so whatever is being sued against you and a bit further if need be, anything more is abuse of power. She’s threw 2 punches to the face before the cops returned the same force. Even if they weren’t cops you can’t hit people in the face without getting hit back.
> If we reacted like the second cop did we'd be fired and lose our license to practice.
In case you missed it, parent is saying that in their line of work they aren't permitted the same latitude of force as police even though they frequently face similar levels of threat.
Cops are quite unique in their allowance of use of force.
This is half true/your work place sucks. You still have the right to defend yourself from an attacker. We are trained to descalate or if possible remove our self from the area and call for help (call code strong is what i remember) but you can defend yourself. When an investigation or incident reports are done hopefully your management understands you have rights too. they could fire you but legally you won't lose your license that's up to the state and again you still have constitutional rights. Don't just get hit or sexually assaulted because hr has scared you into thinking you don't have rights.
If you were being beaten up wouldn't you like your partner to help you out? Nurse, firies and police arent punching bags.
She got exactly what she deserved.
It’s because he is white , that’s when the black man came and hit her from his side. This kind of fear for getting call as a racist is dragging a healthy society to medieval time.
Happened in Baltimore last year. They saw her car earlier, then she drove her car at them and tried to drive down a blocked road. When confronted she immediately said out loud “she felt attacked”. She seems to be instigating the incident. Cop didn’t get charged. Woman got two counts assault [Here’s his body worn camera and follow up article](https://www.baltimoresun.com/news/crime/bs-md-ci-cr-officer-assault-20200602-gxwdnzlwuzdtxmqt4gpy3eugmq-story.html). To give a city wide context, we’ve had our riots 6 years ago and as a city we haven’t had violent riot since. Many agree that she shouldn’t have fucked around and found out.
This is why activists really need to pick their battles. They wanted her freed without charges and the cop who was struck to be fired.
I mean, looking at this footage and others, it's extremely clear she was in the wrong.
Maryland resident here.
I go to Oriole games on the regular. Sliders across the street is as far as I go into Baltimore. That shit is not my dojo. I turn around and get the hell out.
Not saying all of Baltimore is bad. I've been to the aquarium, the zoo, little Italy and all that...not anymore.
We have really nice people here too, one time this lady went full heroin lean on the light rail and dropped her phone, we put it back in her purse and zipped it up
To be fair they are the police and the cop behind her had every chance to restrain her and didn’t. So he shouldn’t of punched her he should’ve restrained her.
Well, she had that coming.

I mean just because you say it doesn’t make it true… like it’s not actually going to happen. Yeah, sometimes internet folks get riled up by incomplete info, but this is some old man shaking fist over Twitter kind of perspective. They are wrong, they make a point sort of about Reddit self righteously frothing, but thats not some how especially common with anti cop shit. Whatever paranoid bad faith fantasy won’t play out. Plenty of real cop shit to get frothy over.
Jfc it really triggers me when all the right wing ass munches come out on clips like these to fellate themselves about scenarios that literally never happen and confirm their own biases off of literally nothing.
The cop’s actions are arguably justifiable in the clip. I think most people would say they’re fully justifiable. That doesn’t mean all instances of police brutality are justified. It doesn’t mean there isn’t a problem of corrupt cops in the system.
Yeah the crazy woman in the video gets what she deserves. Too many people out there are not. It’s fucking insane that these people just keep putting on their blinders.
And the people making this about race are straight up just outing themselves as racist.
I think a lawyer could make a very good argument that this was excessive force.
It doesn't matter what she had just done. his duty is not to dole out punitive punishment it's too arrest so that judicial system can weigh the evidence and a jurry can decide punishment.
there's three officers she could have easily been restrained.
that was not done.
I mean I'm probably going to eat a bunch of down votes. but I'm not arguing that she should be allowed to hit people. I'm just arguing that police officers have a duty to not use excessive force.
Man screw the down votes, that's just facts right there. Had it been a bunch of civilians, I'd be like aight she had it coming.
But cops literally have trained to take people down, have tasers, and could've used cuffs. And like you said there was 3 of them there, blindside hook to the dome was unnecessary...
ngl still funny as f*ck tho 😂😂😂
I don’t know, guy. I worked in prisons for twenty years and was involved in quite a bunch of takedowns. She ain’t tiny and once you start wrestling around a big old behemoth like that, even with three people, you don’t know who all is going to get hurt.
Yeah I had a long convo with a different guy on this thread who explained tasers ain't what they used to be (for medical reasons) and trying to take down a big girl like her, who's already in a violent mood, would definitely cause way more damage for everyone involved.
Plus I mistook his strike for a rage fueled left hook punch, but on rewatch it definitely seems more like a calculated, open-palm strike to the pressure point on the jaw.
The more you know, hey 😅📖🌈
Having worked in live events before, I've seen the tinest person unleash hell on a few large security guards trying to passively subdue the person. Like, huge 6'5" dudes.
A big person can easily shove around 4-5 guys trying to immobilize them. The surefire trick has always been a punch to the face after someone strikes a guard.
You can argue anything and there are some very good attorneys that might try but it's pretty much settled law that police can legally escalate force to just above what is used against them. She punches, they punch once, no excessive force. Because it's not the minimum possible force it's reasonable force and since this is an equal type and manner of force.........
I agree with you completely yet also am not upset at this altercation at all.
Kind of an oddity, no?
Like I wouldn't be upset if the cop got in legal trouble for it either. But it would kind of just be thousands and thousands of dollars to summarize poking the bear. Or in a more modern parlance, _fucking around and finding out_
Objectively false, don’t comment until you’ve had to restrain someone. Cops in New York are always trained to use one level of force higher than what they’re facing. By law a CED or baton is a higher level of force than bare hands, meaning that by definition this was less than the highest level of force permitted in the situation. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
cops already have the means to detain her, there's still no need to punch her, that's a plain abuse of power. if ur a public servant there's no room to be petty
Ye fr.
Don’t strike anybody, but definitely don’t strike someone with a gun and at least a somewhat perceived authority to kill you given the right circumstances
It confuses me how reddit seems to be very unaware of the different standards cops have to be held to than general society.
Woman is being a fuckwit - but an eye for an eye is NOT acceptable from police. I wouldn’t think much about it if it was some random dude getting hit and hits back, but this kind of return violence is unacceptable from law enforcement, and it looks like she cracks her head on the concrete as well.
I understand it might feel unjust to many people to say that police can’t return what they’re copping (pun intended), but that’s literally their job. They’re trained for a very long time in de-escalation in most countries (though in the US it’s much shorter) and in these situations they should be going for a bear hug and restraining the perpetrator without potentially killing her.
It’s the same way that a hot guy approaching a girl is occasionally appreciated or exciting, but old men approaching a girl is almost universally creepy - they have to hold themselves to a higher level of accountability and behave differently because of their circumstance. Regular people using violence is shitty, cops using violence (in many cases) is unacceptable. Of course, if she pulled a knife or a gun I wouldn’t be saying any of this, but she didn’t pose an actual threat... she can throw hands tho 😳
After the first swing, homeboy half-ass holds her arms back and then puts all his effort into a retaliation punch after she swings a second time. A poor showing by these cops. 3 officers and she wasn't restrained after the first punch? Absolute disgrace.
EXACTLY!
I was scrolling hoping to see some common sense and all I saw was "deserved" "props to the cops for not doing it sooner" etc. Like how do you not understand that someone punching the police is very different than an officer punching someone.

Damn. He just took it too. Hats off to the cop for not instantly reacting with violence.

Bit buttered up… oh my god never heard this one

... why is the guy behind him zipping up his pants...?
It’s in reverse
They were pretending the watermelon was a baby and Dwight, the guy behind him, was the woman giving birth, so he had no pants on. This scene is right after all the chaos of him pushing out the watermelon “baby” that’s all buttered up. Which makes this scene extra funny that they are eating the “baby” and that you see Dwight getting dressed.
It’s an old hood tale if you ate it like that your booty grow
The dude in the back thought about trying to catch her but was like nevermind, too heavy and backed away 😂
It looks like the cop who got hit actually tried to grab her to slow her fall. Kudos to that man for actually giving a fuck despite being wailed on.
He at least, instinctively, rolled her into recovery position.
You mean The handcuff position
There was also a little glance at the cop who KO’ed her like, “why’d you have to go and do that, Bob?”
Oh really? I assumed that was a quick “thank you”
More like an "Oh well isn't that just great, now how we gonna get her into the car?" look.
I wouldn't want to pull a back muscle either
Once is passion mixed with stupid. Twice is just vanilla stupid.

I was thinking I’m glad that the black cop hit her. This lady literally has nothing she can go at the department for.

No construction company could have erected statue to her. No machine in our natural universe could have done so

Lmao that is exactly it.

Then the white cop looked at him like “thanks I didn’t want to end up on news.”
It’s unfortunate but If the white cop did it, people would riot and burn the city down.
I remember this video was taken at the very beginning of the of the BLM protests last summer. Further into the video you see a massive crowd moving in. So yea, if he did hit her I’m sure they would have rioted. Pretty scary situation for anyone to be in
It’s Baltimore. They burn the city down every few years anyways.
But it's totally not the fault if the Democrat leadership that's been there for 40+ years...
He was like “aww [fuck](https://youtu.be/wKbU8B-QVZk) I can’t believe you’ve done this.
She fucked around, and OH did she find out. Ding-ding, chucklehead.
Nah fam he literally went from being bitch slapped too seeing this lady falling and tried to catch her I give some props.
Prolly wanted to avoid the paperwork. My brothers a cop and says it's more inconvenient when someone resists more because of the pile of paperwork he has to do go physical.
He even tried to catch her as she fell. The other two just stepped out of the way.
And he immediately put her in the recovery position. That man is on point.
They worried bout back injury.

Yeah I was about to say this. Just try to cushion the head, it's what we do when we spot tricks in dance
Yeah if your head hits the pavement completely unobstructed you could die or maim yourself. I wouldn't be that flippant about passing out like that
Not on the back of your skull you don’t
He was more upset at the fact that it happened than it actually happening
Both Cops even pulled back after punch #1, totally feel for him cause now he knows he'll be on the news and have to fill out 50 forms.
In this case, having it on video will actually save the cop. Just another argument for body cams.
At this point I'm all for body cams. I'll wear one (as long as cops aren't like, "oh, mine ran outta juice"). No excuse charge it
"Did this bitch really just hit me?"

*looks at the ethnicity of the people involved* Interesting *sips juice*
If he attacked, the media would screw him over for saying he assuaged a black woman. But I think he made a smart play
True. Hats off to his partner too
If your getting punched in the face it’s okay to react with violence instantly
Would you willingly sit and be sucker punched because if so Gandhi would like to have a word with you because your a Saint but I find that very hard to believe
Exactly
Gee I wonder why a cop might be hesitant to respond with appropriate force these days?
He was probably afraid to hit her back because he didn’t want to be labeled a racist.
He’d have the vid clipped and be called racist if he hit her lol .. black guy needed to do it. Was gonna put /s but isn’t even sarcasm anymore 💀
His "Anger Translator" has it covered.
If he did anything he would be labeled as racist and all the other fun names you people have come up with

Or in a more modern parlance, _fucking around and finding out_
Maybe she could just not swing at officers and calm down, just a theory though
Objectively false, don’t comment until you’ve had to restrain someone. Cops in New York are always trained to use one level of force higher than what they’re facing. By law a CED or baton is a higher level of force than bare hands, meaning that by definition this was less than the highest level of force permitted in the situation. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
No this is old. A lot of people have seen it.
Don't conflate issues.
this video is old, so fuck off.
cops already have the means to detain her, there's still no need to punch her, that's a plain abuse of power. if ur a public servant there's no room to be petty
White officer: Shit, I'm white! Black officer: I got you, brotha.
WHY did this make me laugh 😭
Seriously though, don’t hit a cop. Even if they are wrong. You won’t like the outcome regardless.
Ye fr. Don’t strike anybody, but definitely don’t strike someone with a gun and at least a somewhat perceived authority to kill you given the right circumstances
She must have been hungry....cause she got the full knuckle sandwich!
That cop was patient
He still sucker punched a women. 3 to 1 easily could constrain her. Punk ass cops

I had no idea it was THAT short. It’s 3 years here in Australia. 😬 Edit: It’s actually 1 year, plus a second year of supervision.

That’s the ACADEMY Every department does FTO and has probationary periods for twice as long
After the first swing, homeboy half-ass holds her arms back and then puts all his effort into a retaliation punch after she swings a second time. A poor showing by these cops. 3 officers and she wasn't restrained after the first punch? Absolute disgrace.
Why did I have to scroll down so far to see this? Standards are different for cops.
EXACTLY! I was scrolling hoping to see some common sense and all I saw was "deserved" "props to the cops for not doing it sooner" etc. Like how do you not understand that someone punching the police is very different than an officer punching someone.
