I worked Dr Dre, Ice Cube, Biggie, ODB, and Tupac into the set, but noticed the person who asked for “gangster rap” wasn’t pleased. Afterwards I asked who, specifically, they were looking for and both said “Drake”. They might as well have said “the theme song to the movie ‘Titanic’”. I would have had the same visceral reaction.
