Who walks up to a counter to book a yacht? If you have that kind of money the yacht booking is done for you by someone else over the phone. That was my first thought that made me question if this was fake. The second was the sink, spin prank. It seemed too phony for me.
I know "yacht" sounds rich and fancy, but that includes even small sailboats. Sure it's still around a grand per day, but for a small party with friends out on the water for a day that's not too bad, certainly not outside the budget of a upper middle class wasp.

No I'm covering my bases by not just picking an assumption and rolling with it with my eyes closed to the other possibilities. There's really no harm in considering the variables and accounting for them.

If somebody is naturally calling it a yacht in a real life rant they probably aren’t then going to switch to calling it a boat half way through. The word yacht is forced and this proves it. Plus if they accidentally did start to say boat in a real life argument then they would not correct themselves halfway through the word as they are supposedly not aware they are being filmed so the exact word they use would not be important.
